That is a perfect defination of insanity, risking your life to retrieve a cap that probably cost between $15 to $20.

Was a cap like that really worth it?

Years ago, a women last her hat while riding Top Gun at Paramount Great America in California, so her husband jumped a fence in order to retrieve the missing hat. And he gets kicked in the head by a passing train full of riders. That man got killed, the rider (who's leg kicked him) had to be taken to the hospital to have it's leg placed in a cap, and the hat remains unharmed ( "Ha, ha, ha: I love that type of deathhead humor).

The Palmer says this: "Never wear a cap on a ride - keep all caps safe at home!"

I don't know for sure but maybe they have photo eyes that detect when somebody enters a pool of water like that.

I know at Kings Dominion at the International street fountains they have them on all corners of the fountain and if anybody enters the pool it shuts down.

p.s. what an idiot

I actually watched that twice hoping he would get hit the second time.

You don’t think this kid was recently at a zoo screwing with tigers do you?

I kind of hate videos like that online. You know people are gong to try and go for a swim in that lagoon now.

But honestly, deep down inside does this really surprise you?

I have actually seen dumber moves then that one. With an actual train coming and guests jumping into kill zones.

I will never understand it.

I have a similar situation like this..

It was last summer at Tokyo Disneysea.

I was missing my cap while riding Flounders Flying Fish Coaster

LUCKLY, no big incident there...but I coudnt get my cap soon.

One of casts said that we have no right to get in attraction zones during the operating hours.

And as soon as park closed, she could pick it up and send it to my home by air instead.

That was such a nice answer. I however bought a cap immediately..

who can be free and come out from the heat of the damn japanese summer?

I work at Guest Services at Both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios and the Guest Services Department also covers the Lost and Found so this is my cup of tea!!! I can promise you that this young man was escorted out of the park by security via Guest Services so we could tell his family that there would be no refunds given for stupidity and no further compensation for him trying to kill himself! The stories that I could tell about excuses and lines that we have been fed and the sob stories about lost $400 Prada Sunglasses on the Mummy and why they were not found at all or found in many pieces would turn curly hair straight. I have been called EVERY name in the book by all walks of life. Because it is ALMOST my fault that you didnt put your bag IN the FREE locker but on top and when you came out the bag was gone, but returned to Lost and Found with no camcorder or cash but it did have you autograph book and sweatshirt and flip flops. That is almost always my fault. I should write a book.....Between Lost & Found stories, Guest Services Stories, Seeing drunk people getting tazed at HHN and the Shoplifting Morons I could probably make a pretty penny!!!!!

Now... Jurassic Park has a calling with a new plan... to build a new electric fences around the rides not only to protects the park patrons from T-REX but to protect the morons from getting run over.

Not really that they will be adding one or anything but what you think of that idea? I think it make perfect sense to kinda remind them... DO NOT CROSS... Boat is coming at ya!

I didn't realize this... I made to my 50th post and it is about the idiots at IOA!

I'm glad the kid came out safe, despite his stupidity. But again, why would somebody go to such lengths and risks just for a hat?

Make it a thread, I bet you have some memorable customers.

^^^ Glad he was caught, and only glad he didn't get hit for the parks sake, since they'd no doubt have to pay out millions in the lawsuit. Hopefully natural selection will indeed eventually remove this f#%@ idiot from the gene pool without involving innocent people and property in the process, dumbass.

I would like to rephrase. We really need an Common Sense test and for those that fall below the threshold, executions will commence at noon.

I remember the good ole days of common sense. People took responsibility for their actions, felt shame for not using their heads, and learned from their ignorance. Sadly, those days are gone, as is common sense.

^while that would have been bad for his family and the industry, I'd have no remorse for him if he got hit by a boat.(no I'm not like this in my normal life, but he is an idiot)

When I was watching the video, I was expecting him to come very close to getting hit, and like many of the previous posters, I'm a little disappointed he wasn't.

Hey my hats off to you. “Pun intended”

Honest ride crews have to deal with a lot of things, but guest services. You are a much better person then me. I would get fired within 4 hours working at any guest service position. “We are still trying to figure out how I made it a whole season at Cedar Point”

Only problem with that idea would be, well…

Common sense. Ok everyone lacks it at times, but man a test on it would endanger the majority of the human species. Heck most would fail it before the first question…(Granted easy way to weed out)

Hey we can’t even take out people with multi murder charges because it’s only cruel to kill a murder, but it’s fine for a person to kill then eat another, or heck 15, or 20 of them. I say take the losers out of society that bring nothing to the table, and give them all free tickets for an exotic island with free airfare “one way”

But in the really big picture this is solely a parenting, upbringing issue in which parents need to be more accountable for dumb kids actions. Once again, why can the theme park not sue/make an example of this family for the endangerment, not to mention almost creating a bio hazard in the lagoon…

Do you get what I mean? I would be every suspicious if I saw someone with clothes dripping wet walking around like that.

I would have just assumed they had just ridden Popeye.

i have come off of rip saw totally soaked... def would have thought thats what happened. i cannot believe that he did that. to be young and naive...
