TheRapidsNerd
Yes friends, it was another classic Sushi dinner night. Luke, Jay, Erin, and I hit our favorite Japanese restaurant, called "I Love Sushi" and stopped at Target for stuff. Kept seeing all kinds of interesting things and reminders of TPR. And penguins. EVERYBLOODYWHERE penguins! So settle back with a high school-school sense of humor, a cold drink (I refuse to say beverage) and a snack. Enjoy! Hooray for Vault Squishie! Nerdly goodness...in a cup! Congratulations! You've made it to the end of the TR. Thank you for reading, laughing, chortling, smiling, smirking, giggling, grinning, etc. Avatar anyone? Briefly back to Target. Eat your heart out Snoopy! But is it truly the straight poop? Remember this thread? AAAAAaaaaahhhhhhh! Stopit! Stopit! Stopit! Make them go away! Foreshadowing. Derek! How's it going Elissa? Aw crap! They're everywhere! Wadda nightmare! Listen to our wisdom. There is no escape. Utterly creative cover. And that's no bull. I know this game. Who doesn't like pocket pool? Absolutely disturbing. The artist has no sense of color coordinating whatsoever. Blastfemy. Hidden Kitty...on a peach drink...Ok moving on... I've never talked to these guys, I swear! With a name like that, I had to get it. It was great! I could drink one for hours, right Luke? Hidden...in plain site Mickey. Derek? Who knew? Donkey and his legion of might chocolate bunnies. With stuff shopping done, we all decided to have a drink over at Barnes & Noble. Lifesaver Candy Canes. Awesome. Such a ho. And the guy's name is Luke! When Candy Land goes horribly wrong. Who's your weeny? Theme Park starter kits. Where in Target is Carmen Sandiego? Jay, what's up with the pinky salute? Oh... Stop it. You're scaring me. Oh look...more penguins...k... It's a Studio 54 Christmas! Twisty martini thing that tells you how to mix drinks. Stirring. They lie! There wasn't ANY any where in the store. Fraggle Skin Rug. Jay coined that one. Fievel goes bada$$. Oh look, a penguin in a showglobe. Makes me think of Jahan. Gotta get a pic of that. "Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist." Fairy Nutcrackers. That sounds like a rough date no matter what path you walk. So we get to Target and the holiday wares are out, but there are some very different things. "And I will call him mini-me..." This armor suit is in a shadow box on the way to the restroom at I Love Sushi. Looks big right? It's only about 10 inches tall. Would hate to meet the guy that wore it. Those Samurai dudes were tough and mean!
TheRapidsNerd
^ Absolutely! Anybody who wants it can use it. CTU, I could clean it up for you if you wish. EDIT: Done and posted. EDIT EDIT: Can I contribute this one to the Avatar Bank?
Ccron10
Valut Icee!!!! I almost went to Target tonight and I wanted to get one of those.
TheRapidsNerd
^ Yes! The addiction spreads! Some days, it's a real heartbreaker between Vault Icee and Starbucks at Target. Doing both would make my oh so subtle and low key personality that much more obnoxious. They think I'm annoying now! Ha! Eh, so what if I'm "that guy" on this board. I'm havin fun! arrowfanman
Thanks for the PTR! I love how I notice all of that stuff from MY Target. LOL. The joy of cheap Target isle end-cap gifts! I will say that this PTR had too much penguin! Thanks for posting. -Jahan
SLUSHIE
I've been working at a Target for about 6 moths, and all I have to say is... HOLY CRAP WE HAVE VAULT SLUSHIES?!
TheRapidsNerd
Thanks for the Photo TR! I love how I notice all of that stuff from MY Target. LOL. The joy of cheap Target isle end-cap gifts! I will say that this Photo TR had too much penguin! Hey thanks! Enjoyed your Cake TR and the Disneyland one too. Yeah, I see Vault or Frozen Coke and I think of you, Robb, and several others, not to mention all the other stuff. It gets comical. At first I thought, "Ok, this penguin thing is just a clever gag." With them being EVERYWHERE lately, it's more valid and real. Agreed. Waaaay too many penguins.
J man
Hey Slushie, I work at Target too. Target does indeed have some very odd Christmas stuff. The ornaments are the worst! They either have an obscene amount of glitter, or are just so off the wall random that you can't even believe someone would put that on their tree. The most bizarre ornament I've seen at my Target store is a hand painted pickle.
exit english
Let me be the first to say that I love Target. Those of you who are employed there, let's see if you recognize the following: Target chair, Target ottoman, Target picture frames, Vase, end-table, glass coasters, DVDs purchased at Target and Amazon, and some other decorations that most likely came from the TGT. Target picture, Target sconces, Target candles, Target pillows on the couch, Target frames for the 2 pictures next to the lamp, and a Target TV stand, which I've just recently replaced with another one from Target. The napkin in the center of the table that started it all. Our obsession with color (well, Jen's obsession with color and my going along with it....) The color in the next pictures was actually color-matched to that napkin. Also the vase and silk flowers in the center (and the glass beads in it) are from... you guessed it. edit: also the very bottom of a picture frame is barely visible. That's Jen's Audrey Hepburn picture, and frame, from target.
TheRapidsNerd
LOL! That's awesome! Seems you have as an intense a like for Norma Jean as I do for Bettie Page. I like your place. Yes, it was a grand day when I moved up to Target and Bed Bath and Beyond. Felt really saucy buying from Pier 1! Hey thanks for sharing those pics. exit english
^ You should see Jen's bathroom. It's entirely (down to the trashcan, shower curtain and hooks) I love Lucy. She has so many collectibles from that era, and she was so excited when we found the Marilyn picture on clearance for $17 with the frame. Also, thanks for the compliments on the place. I'll have to round up some pics of our matching-color Christmas tree (also from Target, and decorated with Target lights, ornaments and ribbon), as well as our other decorations. We even have a couple of the "Studio 54" trees .
TheRapidsNerd
Jens room sounds awesome. Would love to see the pics. Yep, The Bettie Lounge is the living room with it's butterfly chairs and vintage 70's beanbag, Contempo Asian bedroom and bath (like that's NEVER been done before), kitchen has the putting mat, complete with Walmart and Target putters and golfballs. Who needs a table when you've got mini golf in your pad? Trying to figure out how to theme the kitchen with some park stuff and make it fun. exit english
The teal was a pain in the you know what to put on the wall. We wound up buying a second quart so we could even it out. The green wasn't so bad at all, but the teal was pretty stubborn. Thanks for liking my living room .

Moose
I have a pickle-man on my tree. A friend made it for me from a regular pickle ornament after seeing my pickle party t-shirt.

TheRapidsNerd
^LOL! Yeah it got creepy because they were EVERYBLOODYWHERE! Glad you like the TR and hopefully it didn't damage your health any. RaptorBoyASU wrote: It's a Christmas pickle You hide it in the tree, and whoever finds it gets an extra gift or good luck for the year. So, playing "hide the pickle" is now a Christmas tradition?? That's always been a tradition at my apartment. Kidding aside, this was the first year I'd heard of the whole Christmas Pickle thing. Saw one several weeks ago at target (naturally) and went WTF?! Should have bought it for the naughty factor, but skipped it for being short on cash. Not a kosher move on my part. I'm digging how this conversation has run in new directions. Glad you all are havin fun.

TheRapidsNerd
^ LOL, not a KOSHER move. Was that an intentional pickle joke? Yep. It was a dilly of a joke, but a tad jarring. Oy! too many more of these and I'll really be in a pickle. (this is usually the point where one of my friends says "Roll", as in "Do you Blow Up for that bad joke.")
