Amen again. Keep on posting because u r the reason I went last Monday.

I'm so glad you did!!! I always have a blast riding with you... and when you got the giggles laughing at that man in front of us who was squealing like a girl, it was infectious. That was my favorite ride of the day.

Yeah it was my favorite also especially after he slapped me in my face twice ACCIDENTALLY from holding his hands up in the air. Yes u all I got the (u know what slapped out of me twice) because this ride is sooo wild that when u hold ur hands up and the train changes directions, so do your hands. Excuse me if I sound like everyone else but we are just so damned excited that we have a REAL coaster here in Houston, I wasnt a big fan of Astroworld for the past 20 yrs.

I love the Bullet because it's intense, it's fun, and it's unlike any other coaster on earth right now. The layout is just brilliant and everyone is amazed that "they got that much coaster in such a small space."

I have just as much fun seeing people's reactions to their first ride as I do riding it myself. Everyone is just amazed that it's better than the stuff Astroworld had... nobody expected that in Kemah!

I'm hoping to add nearly 50 coasters to my list this year. I expect my top 20 to be REALLY shaken up!

Gorgeous day to ride eh?

I can see a bit why some of the people get tired of clicking on the Bullet thread, to read "Gorgeous day to ride". What significance does that add to our conversation. I guess you could have stated that its great to have a coaster that is open 7 days a week in the winter where it was mid 70's and sunny today. So, in an attempt to salvage this statement, I ask to all: Which other coasters in the U.S. offer this?

Dunno. The boyfriend came over today and I was a little too busy to notice the weather.

Some rides are even better than the Bullet!

Ok, really more than we need to know I think!

Took my first spin on the Bullet on Saturday and it was a Gorgeous day to ride!!!!!!!!! (Especially noted when coming home to watch the Packers play.)

The ride was not riding much differently when I rode on opening day. The opening sequence is glass smooth with some crazy laterals and pops of air time. The real difference is in the back of the train which is just incredible fun with some amazing air time starting from the first drop and continuing through the first part of the ride with lots of pops of air until the end.

My last rides on the Bullet before this were in September, and I have read that the ride was brutal in October and November but if that is the case, the recent track work has corrected this. The bay turn still has a couple of spots where is shuffles but that turn is much better than it ever was, even on opening day.

The last turn is still a little sluggish but that is really the only negative thing I have to say about the ride.

I think the ride is even better than it was. I don't think The Bullet lost anything with the recent track work and is in fact a better ride in the back.

I did not ask for ride times or clock it myself so I can't give any specific "lift to brake run" times but I would imagine its about the same as reported here in previous posts.

I think a few more tweaks on the track will occur to get the last turns of the ride up to speed, but other than that, the ride is running very well.

Not sure if you stuck around for the rain but the Bullet ran as fast as 62.12 seconds and was running <64 seconds almost all afternoon and night, by far the fastest it has run for a day. 62 seconds is what I hear they were aiming for as a decent speed, even though it was designed to run even faster.

I'm gonna be out in the Houston area this week visiting a friend. We're making a trip to San Antonio one day but sadly no SFFT or SW for me... for obvious reasons. But I was curious if anyone knew if Boardwalk Bullet is going to be operating? The website doesn't say anything except it may not be operating off and on during the winter. Thanks for any help from the locals.

I would say there is a pretty good chance The Bullet will be open, especially on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If they do any more maintenance it will be during the week. As always, best bet is to call first.

So far the schedule for the Bullet is to be open daily even on weekdays in the winter. This may change in the future, and perhaps near future, so stay tuned. The Bullet usually opens around 1pm and continues to run until the park closes at 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

A cold front is coming in so there is a chance for some rain rides tomorrow evening when the front first comes in about 6-7pm. Weather remains a bit wet and cold until Thursday and although still chilly us Texans (high of 56) Friday should be a great day to ride.

Okay, I finally got to ride this beauty last night with my kids, after helping my daughter move into an apartment in the Houston area (I live in Dallas), and all I can say is WOW!

The BB has to be one of the best experiences on a wooden coaster I have ever had. My daughter and I had front seats rides both times and the second ride was better/faster than the first. (no complaints or contradictions from the peanut gallery is allowed. When we are together, we are front seat riders no matter the coaster, so did not ride anywhere else on the train: I will save that for another trip).

I will never claim to be an expert or even seriously question why and how who makes what. Shimmies/shuffles? certainly, it's made of wood. Final braking a little unpredictable? yeah, oh well. All I know is that my kids (21 and 18) and I got off both our rides last night smiling and talking about how much fun we had on that coaster in the short time we were there.

Unexpected bonus feature: there is this machine at the photo booth that gives you a ticket that has a web address on it to view you photo online if you choose not to buy one at that time. Got home this evening, logged on, found the pic quite easily...very cool. now that REALLY impressed me.

I was there Saturday. It ran 68-69 most of the afternoon, then dropped into the 66-67 range after dark.

Full trains on every ride! Yachty Gras was going on, so there was about a 3-5 train wait.

Had friends down who had never been on it. One of them, from DFW, said that it was about time that Texas got a good wood coaster(!)

The Boardwalk Bullet commercial will make it's debut in Houston on cable and on Network television (KHCW, KHOU, KPRC, KRIV, KTRK, KTXH) the week of 3/13-3/20 for spring break.

Spring Break is one of Kemah Boardwalk's busiest weeks of the year, if not the busiest.

A slightly edited version of the commercial is attached. I still don't think the music is fitting

The boardwalk might also benefit from the adjusted schedule of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, which no longer has a conflict with the opening of AstroWorld, and runs March 2 through the 22nd. According to hlsr.com, attendance in 2007 was nearly 2 million! (Very cool midway there for anyone considering a Houston visit for Spring Break.)

Cool clip, btw. Can't wait to see it broadcast.
