coastercrazy216
^Yeah but it does not deserve that ranking. One of the reasons it ranked so high is due to the number of Texans that rode it, and not so much else! Â Exactly, I mean my back still gives me nightly pain from riding it. It's just ranked above the Rattler for me (that means that it is a very bad ride). Â How could you still have pain from it? You must have had some problems before... Â The only thing I(Or anyone else I rode with) came off with was a headache. Â I was at the TPR shoot and I must say that I was in so much pain that night. It was very difficult to sleep. Of course for the first few rides I was in the second row (which is a wheeled seat) with another kid and that probably had something to do with it. GuruGuys
 Exactly, I mean my back still gives me nightly pain from riding it. It's just ranked above the Rattler for me (that means that it is a very bad ride).  Coastercrazy got stuck in the worst seat by far for almost the entire shoot. As much as I have ridden the Bullet you wouldn't catch me dead in row two for the last month or so before construction. I really felt bad for those guys.  I also feel it would have been better for them to wait until all the problems were sorted out before opening it, but I'm sure the accountants felt differently.  --Robb  Would it really make too much difference for the general public however? Most of the people ride it once, maybe twice, and judging by the (way too much) time I have spent there most of the people that ride it are happy with their ride experience. As far as the coaster enthusiasts community, I totally agree it would have been much better to get the work done right in the first place. I'm just not too sure it matters to much to Kemah's target market however. I'm willing to bet many of the normal customer riders don't even know there is a difference after the changes are made, they don't ride it enough, whereas the coaster enthusiasts will notice every nuance.  -GG
texcoaster
^Yeah but it does not deserve that ranking. One of the reasons it ranked so high is due to the number of Texans that rode it, and not so much else! Â Yeah, I think that was the reason... Â With AW closed, BB is the only coaster in the Houston area, so it gets an unfair advantage. People are always going to be a little more biased to their home park though. Â Not me. I'm actually much harsher on my ratings for close-to-me rides because I get to ride them more often. I'm more likely to rank something higher if I only get a couple of rides on it, and the rides are good. Â If I have a chance to re-ride something numerous times, the excitement of a new experience wears off and I'm more likely to see the ride's weaknesses. It's also likely to drop WAY down on my list as I become more familiar with it (and bored by it). Â Local bias? Hardly. It usually works the opposite way for me. I haven't had a #1 coaster within 4 hours of my house since 1990. Â The fact that Bullet manages to rank so highly on my list is a tribute to how much I really love that ride... I've certainly been on it often enough to see it's faults (and there are many), but I can tell you that I don't know that I've ever had so much FUN on a wood coaster before. The contrast of that first uber-intense 15 seconds with the rest of the ride is nice. The reactions of first-time riders who aren't expecting such an aggressive ride make it even better. I have a great time every time I ride it. 'nuff said. Â Voyage ranks above it (even after nearly 50 rides) because I usually prefer "extreme thrill" to "extreme fun". If Bullet manages to kick up the thrill factor after the tweaking, then even better.

coastercrazy216
I have my #1 coaster two hours away from me! Thunderhead! Â I am sorry about this, but Thunderhead? Out off all the wooden coasters out there your favorite is Thunderhead? This is just my personal opinion, but all that ride did was throw me around and try to distract me from the actual experience because I was trying to figure out what had just happened. It is kind of like X, I just could not enjoy the ride because it was flipping and twisting in every which way. Just my personal input. Not trying to steer you away from your own opinions. I can barley tell what the layout is.
kraken613
So you think its bad because its crazy? They designed it to be hidden. Come on try to track BB layout! Â Did you ride Thunderhead more than once? Its a great ride! I will admit that it does have its bad days but come on you dont think its a great ride! Â I'll save you some money here. Don't bother with Boardwalk Bullet. If you don't like fast, furious, unpredictable direction changes and hidden layouts, you wouldn't like BB at all. kraken613
Thats is exactly what I love in woodies! Thats why I love GCI and GG because their layousts are pretty twisted. I would much rather ride a GCI than an out and back woodie!
lorddoonga
Can't wait to ride again! Local weatherman predicting a bitter cold blast of artic air to dip down to Texas next week. Southeast ??? don't know yet. If it does ... we can ride the Bullet with icecicles and frost.

texcoaster
OMG, I remember one year Lone Star Coasterthon happened in the middle of a sleet storm. It was so bad that after that morning's ERT, the park didn't even open. Â We had two hours of ERT on Giant (back when it was still a good ride) with sleet-covered track. It still ranks as some of the most intense, insane coastering I've ever done. We were all frozen, even with the free hot chocolate offered by SFOT, but we couldn't stop riding. Fantastic. texcoaster
I bet riding while sleeting is painful to the face. Â It would be, yes. It wasn't still sleeting during ERT, but the tracks were all frozen and the whole thing was covered in ice. Naturally, the ice broke off the rails when the trains went around, but it was still faster than I've ever seen it go before.

texcoaster
^^ I don't remember the exact year, but I remember the hand warmers! Â I also remember Lucy White, already in her 80s, wearing about six layers of heavy outerwear (she's from Florida and not used to such cold weather!) and a ski mask, whooping and hollering like a madwoman. She had more fun that day than just about anybody. She had planted herself in the front seat and hardly ever had to give it up, since everyone wanted to ride it with her! Â I am really hoping that Bullet 2.0 manages to give rides like the Giant used to. I've often said that the ride is kinda like the "flying carpet finale" on Giant, just stretched into a whole ride. Â I talked to Guru this afternoon and he said they are already putting the rails down. It looks like this thing could be up and running by New Year's Eve after all! Definitely no fireworks etc.  -GG
