Electerik
I just bought a new camera, which was all the excuse I needed to head up to Dollywood and try it out. It's a Pentax Optio E40, and it was literally the smallest digital camera I could find that took AA batteries. It's working out pretty well, so far. Certainly, it can do a lot more--and produces better pictures--than my old camera. Observe.... Here's something you might not have seen before. That guy's pants are advising him not to kill people. I really like this shot. Never could have got it with my old camera. This camera does much better than my old one with moving objects, too. This guy's horse is making syrup or something. The word "free" really jumps out at me here, for some reason. :o/ A self portrait. I had time to kill waiting for the train to come by. That shot didn't turn out very well, though. This ride was not very popular today, due to the cold. But my new camera captured the splash pretty well, I think. I'm kind of cheating on the size here. (Please don't eat me, Wes.) The new camera also has "stitch assist," which help in creating panoramic shots. "What? I can't hear you! Um, no, I'm at the office." This picture was taken from Mystery Mine's queue. Again, the new camera's zoom feature comes in handy. Mystery Mine riders get an interesting view of the fall colors. My old camera was not so good with the zooming. This one is much better. Hooray, it works! (Note the cold weather mode of the water jets.) As good a place to start as any.

natatomic
Great TR you've got there. And judging by the pictures, I'd say you made a nice choice for your new camera. By the way, how were the crowds? The mid-ways looked pretty dead, but I see there was a full train on Thunderhead.
bgwfreak
Ok where in the heck is this at? I've been a dozen times and never seen this in the park. Also, is it me or just my dirty mind...it looks like he's got a "package" to d deliver.
Electerik
^ See? I said you might not have seen it before. It's actually outside the park, along the old entrance road, on a maintenance gate to the back of Rockin' Roadway. Though it is very much in a public area, it would be very tough to spot from a moving vehicle. Luckily, I was on foot. Come to think of it, that would have been a good picture for the old "name this park" thread. By the way, how were the crowds? The mid-ways looked pretty dead, but I see there was a full train on Thunderhead. Very light. Thunderhead was only running one train, and they were barely filling it. Lots of re-riders. TheRapidsNerd
Hey man, another great TR. The new camera does well, particularly with the panaramas. Thanks too for the Smokey Mountain River Rampage shot. Hope to be in that area for a spring break trip this next year.
I love DW
I have seen the photo of that man a TON of times and I have never even noticed that the speech bubble is not coming from his mouth. Great pictures!
