Disneyland Resort (DL, DLR, DCA) Discussion Thread

p. 393 - 70th Anniversary events and lineup announced!

Hopefully the new loop with be alot smoother, was the only spot on the entire ride where there was very noticeable vibration and shaking, just stood out so much due to the rest of the ride being so glass smooth. Better yet, wish they were permanently removing the pointless loop so they could also remove the equally pointless OTSH's.

Update! Thanks to XP over at MouseTimes!...

Oh WOW that looks weird!

"Do you see what I see?"

Glad to know the SunWheel is good for something! Here you can really see the construction on F***** Mania, as a whole.

I like the string that is holding the two halfs together.

I blame Elissa.

Check out the full update, HERE!

Now some people are saying that the removal is principally to give cranes better access to remove the buildings down there--but I like my story better--its more dramatic and cool.

I wonder if they're going to scrap the old loop. You think if I sent them a box, they'd ship it to me?

Luna Park in Sydney might buy it as a Summer special Offer, like most of their other rides that are slightly ok.

-----Fake Press Conference------

"This summer, experience the Mad Mouse like never before! For 3 months only, the mad mouse Roller Coaster with have a loop-Dee-loop!"

I can imagine that happening...

Hm. Replaced + reworked loop would be nice. This would be a good opportunity to beef it up, since they've had 5 years to work with it.

Of course, Intamin doesn't even acknowledge this as one of their coasters anymore, so where are they getting the loop?

*Imagines a Vekoma loop on an Intamin ride*

Update!...

By time the park closed last night, the loop had been fully rebuilt and around noon today, California Screamin reopened!

Just to put this into perspective for you--

On Sunday, my local Walmart's photo-printer broke.

On Sunday, California Screamin' closed down due to Mania's construction.

...on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Disney removed a good chunk of the ride's loop, rebuilt it, and retested the ride.

On Thursday, California Screamin' reopened to the public.

On Thursday, Fujifilm is still scratching their heads over the Walmart machine.

I know Disney maintenance gets a lot of heat for, you know...killing someone on BTMRR, but you gotta hand it to them sometimes!--they do a damn good job!

...and yes, X is still closed.
