Disneyland Resort (DL, DLR, DCA) Discussion Thread

p. 393 - Pixar Place Hotel transformation will be completed on January 30th, 2024!

Welp, kind of sad Screamin' was closed, but otherwise the trip was great (well, except that my initial flight down was cancelled...). Park was relatively empty, I don't think anything had a wait longer than half an hour or so, except Radiator Springs which we just fast-passed and single ridered. It was actually my first time down there during Christmas, I might only go down during Christmas from now on (except when I really want to see the traditional Haunted Mansion). It was also my first time on the new Big Thunder Mountain, the new effects are awesome (and the track feels much faster and smoother than I remembered), great stuff!

Guests visiting Disneyland park will now be able to visit a miniature version of Arendelle from the hit Disney animated feature, “Frozen,” when Storybook Land Canal Boats reopens this weekend. Our chief photographer, Paul Hiffmeyer, got a special preview of this new featurette this morning, and brought back these photos for Disney Parks Blog readers!

I was wondering what it took the place of, but now found out the Windmills were removed and saved

"for the future" one site reported. That's good. And this Arendelle set up looks wonderful, including

Elsa's castle up in the mountains.

I'm amazed it doesn't happen more often. I don't think Walt could have ever envisioned his park hosting so many guests. I'm very curious to see how they handle crowd control going forward, as it's not like they have tons of room to re-model all the walkways to accommodate more foot traffic.

I'm heading down to Disneyland in less than two weeks! It'll be a lot more fun with Jacob now that he's a tiny bit older. I don't think we'll do the storybook boats and he wiggles like nothing else, but the animal cages on Casey Junior should work!

TPR recently had the opportunity to check out the Three Kings Day Celebration and Frozen Fun at California Adventure! Three Kings Day features arts and crafts, live music and traditional food. It runs now though January 6th.

Check out the photos:

Checking in at the Disneyland Hotel!

Gingerbread house in the lobby was very cool!

Got our badges and we're ready to go!

What's there to do at Three Kings Day? Here's your answer.

One of the activity stations.

I interviewed Carlos Martinez about story of the Three Kings and what you can see at the park!

Also got a preview of some of the music you can hear at the event!

We also got a chance to try the Three Kings Bread!

Then it's off to check out Frozen Fun!

Wandering Oakens has set up shop.

Olaf's Snow Fest has taken up one of the sound stages.

It looks fairly popular!

Let's check it out!

It's honestly pretty impressive!

Looked great in here! Good job Disney!

Olaf was also rather popular!

Got our fastpasses!

Drawing Olaf is over in the Animation Academy.

Time to check the Frozen Sing Along Celebration in the re-named "Crown Jewel Theatre."

The lobby features posters of other shows performed by the "Royal Historians of Arendelle."

Last one!

For the first time in forever the Muppets 4D theater is filled to capacity!

The show begins with Anna and the Royal Historian.

The show features all of biggest songs from the movie.

The transitions between songs are described the Royal Historians.

This song has been stuck in my head ever since I saw this show!

Safe to say this was the crowd's favorite song!

Some great effects in the theater during this one too!

Kristoff, Anna and Elsa join the historians at the end of the show.

The show concludes with one more epic singing of Let it Go!

Go check out Three Kings Day and Frozen Fun!
