Hahahaha!

Good point.

Ah well, I thought I'd post it anyway to add to the discussion about DLR.

If they are asking this question, then the Imagineers must have some early ideas and sketches. The thing I want to know is where in the park could they fit another land? Or is someone proposing this as a remodel/extension of Tomorrowland into "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away land?"

It may be driven by marketing more than imagineering. Trying to get the imagineers to figure out a way to shoehorn in another land or mini land.

^You can't always take surveys to mean they're really truly considering something though. For example, I just got a survey from Six Flags about improving offerings for kids!

Their surveys have that every year and yea............never happens. I laugh every time I see that on a survey from them.

Where are you getting your info that there was more to the survey than just that ONE question. Both gizmodo and digg both mentioned ONE question.

Oh stop with you CAPS lol, I said I think. And I thought this cause I've seen lots of tweets with several different questions all pertaining to Star Wars. There's even a Light Saber status bar at the top, if this wasn't totally Star Wars themed, then I don't know what is..

On the certain fanboy site, word on the street is going on that Disneyland may be doing another 24-hour event from May 24-25 but with both parks instead of just the flagship one. To add fuel to this, all of the passes up until the Premium are being blocked out on the 25th. Here's the passport calender. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/

If it does happen, I'm going to be on the fence on going.

I would put very little stock into that rumor. The parks are already going to be busy enough as it is, plus it's a weekend. Why, after what happened last time (which was on a week night) would they put this event on a busier day? I get that the passes are blocked, by that doesn't stop AP holders from buying discounted black out day tickets and causing the same problem. I just don't see it happening.

I really can't think of anything more horrifying...

Man stuck on Disneyland 'It's A Small World' ride listening to theme song awarded $8,000 damages

A disabled man who was stuck on Disneyland's "It's A Small World" ride for 30 minutes — while the theme song played on — has won a lawsuit against the Anaheim theme park.

Disneyland paid disabled Jose Martinez $8,000 damages for failing to evacuate him when the ride broke down a day after Thanksgiving in 2009.

Martinez, of San Pedro in Los Angeles County, is in his 50s and paralyzed, needing a wheelchair. He was reportedly stuck in the "Goodbye Room" when the ride broke down.

However, he also suffers from panic attacks and high blood pressure, both of which became an issue as he sat in the boat with the "Small World" song playing over and over, his attorney, David Geffen said, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The condition was aggravated by Martinez's need to urinate, Geffen said, adding that his client could not medically stabilize for three hours after the ride broke down.

The court awarded Martinez damages for pain and suffering, and for disability law violations.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press cited Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown as saying that the theme park provided appropriate assistance during the incident and was disappointed in the court decision.

I think its mainly becuase he is in a wheelchair and there are the regulations they have to folllow

Frivolous lawsuit. Big f'ing deal. He was forced to listen to an annoying song for a while. He wasn't in danger, he wasn't harmed. I'm just glad he wasn't awarded more money than he was.

Posted

^Same. I'm shocked any judge would deem a 30 minute wait worth anything. If the guy has all these issues, then that's all on him for getting on a ride that has the potential to cause him issues. Why this wasn't thrown out when the judge saw it Is what more annoying.

^^, ^^^ You guys have to understand that there are people of all walks of life and states of mind, so although this DOES seem ridiculous, who's to say the man really wasn't traumatized?

(I'm on your side though!) It's one of those really annoying "perspective" cases

Posted

Oh, I totally understand. But Disney did nothing wrong, and if this man gets tranuatized in such cases, theme parks aren't the place for them to be. I more have this opinion because I personally feel the case itself was unnecessary. Even if the man is 100% truthful and honest about the situation, what was the pint of the case? Nothing.

Question for locals or anyone who has been to DL/DCA a LOT!

I am going to the parks for my 1st time in 13 years in April. Any suggestions on MUST do's particularly foods to eat or out of the way places to visit. I have never been to DCA so everything will be new to me. And the last time I was at Disneyland, Rocket Rods was still running!

I'm staying at the Red Lion Hotel right across the street from the park. My plan is as follows:

Monday April 15th DL/DCA

Tuesday April 16th SFMM

Wednesday April 17th Knotts 1/2 day then back to DCA

Thursday April 18th DL/DCA 1/2 day then flying out that evening to Portland

Thanks for any advice!

For the Disney property:

* Drinks at Trader Sams (Disneyland Hotel)

* Goofy's Kitchen for Characters Breakfast (Disneyland Hotel)

^True, but,
who was stuck on Disneyland's "It's A Small World" ride for 30 minutes — while the theme song played on

I think it is a stupid lawsuit. There are numerous activities worse than having to listen to a song, loved by many, for 20 minutes.
