Movies, Movies, Movies.....

The following movies come out on Tuesday 1/9:

The Illusionist: Wow, this is a good movie. I think it's unfair that a ton of people compare it to The Prestige just because both movies have magicians as the main character. This movie is basically a love story that is also very tolerable for men. The acting is really, really good in this movie. 4/5 stars

Crank: This movie isn't very good if you try to think. It's pretty much mindless violence and a ridiculous amount of very cheesy plot holes. Luckily, there's so many that you laugh. This movie is also good if you ever wandered what Amy Smart's O face looks like. 2/5 stars

Idiocracy: Mike Judge's second "live people" film...how this didn't get any publicity love from FOX is beyond me. It has absolutely hilarious, biting mindless and crude satire. Probably one of the funniest comedies I've seen in a while. 4/5 stars

Bandidas: Wow, the camera work sucks in this movie. However, Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek are hot and are entertaining enough to carry this film. It's not a great film by any means, but it was entertaining. 3/5 stars

Seeing Pan's Labyrith today!

Saw CRASH last night, and it was just amazing. I don't have a single complaint about this film. Every bit of it was wonderful, and I can't wait to watch it again! It definitely deserved the Best Picture Oscar. 10/10

EDIT: Just saw Pan's Labyrith, and it was beautiful. I honestly can't find any other word for it. The whole thing was a beautiful fairy tale, however sad it may have been. 10/10

So i go to the movies today and Casino Royale and Night at the Museum are both sold out "darn!" hehe. So instead we saw Dream Girls (Which i actually totally wanted to see in the first place.)

I loved it! It took me awhile to find out Beyonce was one of the Dreamettes, didn't realize until she let her hair down...

Anyway, the movie was great, and i'd reccomend it to anyone who is into the musical thing. One song in particular was really really amazing. Effie was played amazingly, and even though you may somtimes think shes self ceneterd, you can't help but feel bad for her. Great movie!

Also, i saw the advertisment for Hairspray [the movie] And i can't freaking wait! Too bad it was only a song in the background with that cast names being displayed across the screen.

Yesterday night, I had the best luck I've ever seen. In Singapore, Pan's Labyrinth is opened exclusively wide only at 9 chosen theatres from 26 in all of Singapore. The tickets I bought were two of the last tickets. All of the tickets for the whole day yesterday in the whole Singapore were totally sold out!!

Rated NC-16, I think it's for real. Really brutal, some people even the adults screamed to the brutality. 9/10 from me, because the fantasy is like only less than half of the film.

Freedom Writers 9/10

I really enjoyed this movie. It was great to see the story of these kids and how they made a difference in their area. Hilary Swank did a great job, very emotional and played the part to its full potential. The only part that surprised me, was that this stuff was happening so close to where I live.

See No Evil Rating: 9/10

I thought this movie was great...yet short at only an hour and 30+ minutes long. The fact that it was a "Liongates Film" was enough for me...I love their movies. Kane wasne't a bad actor despite all the critics....the only thing I didn't like was his heartless mother.

So I went and saw Primevil this weekend (or however you spell it...) This movie is NOTHING like I expected it to be. It is really a political thriller type movie with a Giant alligator munching people in it. I didn't know alligators could be serial killers.

Kind of a let down. Not that it was a bad movie, but I expected to see some terrifying flick about a deranged serial killer, and instead got a giant animal on the loose flick.

Can't rate it because I'm still too confused by it.

Just finished watching this. Easily the scariest movie I have ever seen, hands-down. Goes far beyond anything I have ever seen and into the depths of the stuff that nightmares are made of. With a brilliant performance by Ellen Burstyn and gorgeous directing by Darren Aronofsky, Requiem for a Dream easily fits into my top 50 list. 10/10

I'm dying to talk to someone about this movie.
