Top Thrill Dragster
Part 1 Enjoy! L.A. County Fair 9-26-07 These pictures were taken 2 different days but I am only highlighting my trip on 9-26-07 I arrived at the fair around 10:30 am. Since there is no re entry to the parking lot, I got General, because I was planning to come back and get night photos of the fair. When I arrived at the entrance it would be another 30mins before the tickets booths opened. Once the booths opened, I used my Mc Donald's fair Wednesday coupon and got entry, and unlimited rides wristband for only $20! Once inside the fair, I went strait to the Carnival Ticket booth and got my wristband. After I got my wristband I found out that the rides dont open until noon, so I took the time to walk around and take some photos of the rides. I won't ever ride Tango again, I don't get why something so painful is so popular. New at the fair was Speed They were testing Remix II when I was walking past. Got to love how strait that lift is! The Experience, my second favorite ride at the Fair. North Americas largest traveling Ferris Wheel.
Top Thrill Dragster
Part 2 finally, It was 12 and the first ride of the day was Hi Miler. I was on the first train of the day and got POV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Byd8tfxxQvs It was a fun ride, lots of ejector seat air and very strong laterals . But due to one train operations and a extremely long line, I only got one ride. After a fun ride on Hi Miler, I rode Evolution. The ride was ok, my biggest compliant is that they hold you spinning upside down at the top too long. OK? After a mediocre ride, I made my way to my Favorite drop tower, Mega Drop. POV This ride may only be 120ft tall, but it pack one hell of drop and has tons of air time. After 3 great rides on Mega Drop, I made my way to my 97th Credit Crazy Coaster. POV The ride should be called NOT so Crazy Coaster. The both times I rode it, the car barely spun and was trimmed to death. I take Sierra Sidewinder any day. Who needs footer, when you can use wooden blocks? After a boring ride on Not so Crazy Coaster, I made my way to my 98th credit, Cobra.
Top Thrill Dragster
Part 3 After Cobra, I made my way over to best ride at the fair, Speed. Speed is a GREAT ride and is SOO MUCH BETTER than the Booster. You flip upside down every rotation and the positive and negative forces are great. This ride is just awesome!! POV The View from the top of Speed. After a Great ride on Speed, I made my way to Remix II. This Ride was EXTREMELY intense. The Best way I would describe, it is like going through a intense B&M Invert helix for two and half minutes. I had to take a break after this ride. Top Thrill Dragster
Part 4 After a very intense ride on Remix II, I needed to take a break. So I rode La Grande Wheel. This is one of the nicest and most intimidating ferris Wheels I have ever ridden, and the fact that it travels makes me nervous when I ride it. The View From the Top Cliff Hanger- New age of Paratrooper. After La Grande, I decided to go down towards the exibits and just to look around. I dint take many photos. Top Thrill Dragster
Part 5 What wont they frie? After taking a little break from the action of the carnival rides I made my way to G Force. G Force was fun and a hell of alot better than the one at Knotts. POV More Photos of G force will come in my night photos! After a Fun ride on G force I made my way over to my second favorite ride at the fair, The Experience. This ride is a combination of rides all into one package. First it starts out as a weak scrambler. Then it turns into a scrambler on steroids. When the arms lift up it turns into a weak Remix II. And when the seats start flipping it turns into a much more comfortable Tango! Its an awesome ride!
Top Thrill Dragster
Part 6 After a great ride on Experience, I was heading out when I found another credit! Number 99!! . After a ride on Little Dipper I made my out at 3, with plans to return at 8 to get night photos!

jarmor
Lol sucks you guys have to pay for parking. At the south carolina state fair it's always free...but I have to wonder... is that blues clues little distant cousin "clueless" clues!
RIP Psyclone
So, are traveling carnival/fair coasters considered credits? I admit they would be if they were permanent fixtures.

Top Thrill Dragster
Thanks for the comments. ^This was my first time using low shutter speeds and a tripod at night to get the motion pictures. I am glad you liked them. That is also part of the reason there is so many photos. I wanted to see how people liked them.

ebl
I don't think I'm going to get to the L.A. County Fair this year, so it was nice to see some photos. The night and action shots were very nice. What kind of camera are you using? RCS used to do the Ventura County Fair, but now they bypass us because they're busy between the Del Mar Fair, the Orange County Fair, and L.A. Top Thrill Dragster
I feel that RCS might quit doing the LA county fair. Every year there is fewer and fewer rides. Thanks for the comment! For the day time shots I used a Canon Power Shot A530 and for the night I used a Canon S3IS.
fmulder21
Typical RCS carnival, They bought a new ride and haven't used it? Some ride named tornado or something. Great job. Looked like fun.
ebl
^^ I think that Canon S31S is the same model my wife just got. One time, I want to get a good digital SLR, but I have to save up first! Eric
dandaman
I also have a Canon A530... never steered me wrong. Awesome pics, especially the night shots. Was the "free" photo booth there when you went? (It seems you took pics of damn near everything, so I'd guess not. )
Top Thrill Dragster
^ Thanks for the comment. No, I didn't see a free photo booth, the only thing that was free was Sparkletts Water and food samples. Other than that I don't believe free was such a word at the fair.
