PKI Jizzman
Thanks Ian! Another credit I'd be happy to grab when I'm on the Gold Coast! How long was the line for it when you were there? Edit: Those new Intamin restraints look pretty cool, better for the coaster
Airtime&Gravity
^I think those are the same restraints that are on the other half pipe coasters. This is a great addition to the park, and having ridden the one at Elitch Gardens, I can say that these coasters are a hell of a lot of fun. The water effect looks better than the one at EG, and this should be a a great way to cool off.
IceDragon
That looks like a sick ride! I've done the odd Disk'O, but they've left me fairly unimpressed and a collapsed lung or two (just kidding). If only England were hot enough to get one with mist jets on it... coasterdude5
See GL, waterparks can have coasters. It looks awesome.
Loco
^I think those are the same restraints that are on the other half pipe coasters. They're not. Wow! for once I actually want to ride one of these things. This one looks awesome.
kraken613
The one a EG is alot of fun!
Axman
They lost some capacity on this one. This one only has 6 seats per car, and the new restraints look unnecessarily large. Other than that, this ride looks great! Its a great idea, but capacity seems way low. Dueling halfpipes would be a good idea.
thrillrideseeker
Is it just me or do the spikes seem to go beyond 180 degrees? Look at the 4th picture down and it really looks like they are beyond 180. Does anyone else see this? ~Matthew
Gav
^Yeah, they do, I think they did it so the ride vehicle goes completely vertical when it is on the spike. Because the vehicle runs on 2 sets of bogies (one set at each end of the vehicle), it wouldn't be quite vertical at the top because the 'bottom' set of bogies would still be on the curved section of track but the top set would be 'over' on the vertical part (when viewing the ride from side on). But by making the track beyond vertical, the 'top' bogies would line up vertically above the 'bottom" set and therefore the vehicle would be at true vertical. rabid disney
How long was the line for it when you were there? no wait for me I cheated. Actually I was just promoted at work im now Movie World photography supervisor and Brian who was my Supervisor has been moved to Run Wet N Wild and Paradise Country which are next door to Movieworld. So I rang Brian and asked him to take the photos for me as Movie World is to me busy for me to leave right now as the School Hoildays are on. But at a guess the lines arent that bad because there are so many other new rides at wet n wild to do, it is actually now the 3rd biggest waterpark in the world and last year had the 3rd highest attendance worldwide for a waterpark perks of being hot 365 days a year i guess. downunder
Looks like a fun coaster, and a real first for a waterpark, maybe other waterparks will look to this as a means of differentiating themselves from their competitors and we will get some new interesting coaster designs. Will have to check this out when I am up there in December.
