Ape
I went to the Pittsburgh at bengals last week and yesterday green bay at bengals. The game yesterday was the Most exciting game I have been to.
djboss302
For me, I'm happy the Ravens showed up against the Texans. Hopefully there D will show up against EJ Manuel next week, because he's been having a good season so far, despite the loss yesterday.
Jew
When it comes to Kaepernick, I don't think the 49ers are actually using him correctly. They only ran the Pistol/Read Option 2-3 times the entire game. It's almost like they are trying to prove to the league that Kaepernick is a good pocket QB, which he is. I really expected yesterday to be a bounce-back game but I guess not. Not sure what's going on with my 49ers right now. Alex Smith has got to be laughing his A$$ off right now. And deservedly so. He certainly hasn't shown it the last two games. Held on to the ball way too long looking for someone to throw to.
Philrad71
For me, I'm happy the Ravens showed up against the Texans. Hopefully there D will show up against EJ Manuel next week, because he's been having a good season so far, despite the loss yesterday. Just when Manuel faced a tough test in the Jets defense, they get to face the Ravens that looked like they were getting back on track yesterday. I guess if anything, this gives the kid to a chance to get broken into the NFL facing some good defenses in the first few weeks. Just hope he can stay upright and healthy as taking ten sacks in one game isn't going to keep any QB playing games for very long. If Baltimore is smart, Flacco is going to go right after Rogers in the secondary. This guy couldn't cover his own sneeze yesterday let alone a pro wide receiver, although he is like our 4th or 6th corner in depth because of all our injuries. But I don't care what number he is in depth, giving up 229 yards in receiving is something even a high school player wouldn't do - it really was pathetic to watch this guy get burned over and over and the DC never made any attempt at all to adjust the coverage. If Buffalo were smart, they would be out looking for someone better than this guy and get him on the roster ASAP. Sure wish they could coax Ronde Barber out of retirement! cmullin
RG3 as well. It doesn't take the NFL long to figure out a gimmick. I don't think Kaepernick is a gimmick, just like Sir Clinksalot said, they're not using him right, not using the pistol and read-option enough, which is hurting them. Honestly, their main problem is that they have no receivers, so Kaepernick is struggling to find open targets. Once Davis, Crabtree, and Manningham come back, he'll be fine. Hilltopper39
There's something weird is going on in San Fran, Kaepernick's production aside they haven't show up two weeks in a row. For a team that has been as physically dominant as they have week in and week out for the past two season to play that poorly two weeks in a row is strange. Hopefully they shake it off this Thursday and handle St. Louis.
Sir Clinksalot
^ That's the other thing. Vs. Seattle you kind of expect that they are going to be able to match up with the 49ers physically. But the last 2 years the 49ers would just pound people and it just isn't happening yet and it showed against the Colts.
Hilltopper39
Yeah, the Seattle game I'll give them a pass, you can go from bad to worse REAL fast against them especially in Seattle. But again the fact that they played a great game week 1 against the Packers, looked crisp and physical, then to have two stinkers two weeks in a row (even against Seattle) is still a little fishy to me. I don't know if this Aldon Smith thing is a bigger deal than it appears to be or not, but again I hope they get it together here before San Fran turns into the 2012 Bears and miss the playoffs with 10 wins. It does feel like there will be a NFC team again this year that has 10 or more wins and misses the playoffs. Even thought it's still early in the season I can't see more than 1 team from the NFC East making the playoffs so that means between Chicago and GB/Detroit, Seattle/San Fran, New Orleans/Atlanta, some one will be left out. It's kind of ironic that all 4 NFC division champions from last year are in 1-2 or 0-3 hole, who the hell would have predicted that?
Philrad71
^Yes, and what has happened to the NY Giants? Can't day I expected them to be 0-3 and certainly wasn't expecting them to get man-handled the way they did in Carolina on Sunday. And that is one of the main reasons I quit playing spread tickets at work because of these types of games that you think are a gimme & you get burned! cmullin
What I don't get is how they were so dominant in the first quarter, Frank Gore had almost 60 yards I think and Hunter had 20 and a TD, but then after that, the run game was almost non-exsistent after that. cmullin
I don't know if any of you watched the Broncos v. Cowboys game, but I think Tony Romo is going to get some heat this week, even though he threw for 500 yards and 5 tds after his pick on their last drive that led to the Broncos GW field goal. This guy just can't catch a break, he has an amazing game, and then ruins it on their last offensive play of the game.
Jew
Without Romo, the game is a complete blowout, so Cowboy fans should be thankful he outplayed Payton Manning until the very end. Tom Brady also choked today, but no one is going to mention that.
Hilltopper39
^They did play part of that game in a freaking monsoon, not an all out excuse but just saying. I guess most people are probably surprised that the Pats are 4-1 at this point with their offense. And what's up with the Bengals? They can beat the packers and the Patriots but can't beat the Browns? I think that team is good, one of the best in the AFC, but they're gonna have to win on the road at some point. Philrad71
^ Don't worry...the Bengals face a Bills team on Sunday that is starting their practice squad QB over their #2 back-up because he stunk it up so bad in Cleveland last Thursday night after Manuel went down. I thought that they would have really pushed to get Freeman, but he ended up signing with the Vikings instead. The only positive I see in this is that Thaddeus Lewis has been through the practices and (hopefully) knows the playbook. Still amazes me how they promoted Tuel to 2nd string when Kolb was hurt and then lost complete faith in him after he threw the pick 6 in the game the other night...although I have to admit the kid looked completely lost out there. The fact they are starting Lewis just reeks of desperation & lack of faith in Tuel to me. Pending a complete & utter meltdown (or an overlook) by the Bengals, this should be a very easy win for them. All they need to do is stack the box against Freddie and CJ and force Lewis to throw down the field. Being that we are scheduled to get some of our secondary back from injury and our defense has been playing better, this could be a low scoring affair. However, I just don't see a practice squad QB coming in and scoring many points on a pretty good Bengals defense. I have a feeling that this could be a very ugly loss for the Bills. Also agree with Joey...even though I hate the Cowboys, you can't really fault Romo for the game he had yesterday. I can't remember the last 500+ yard passing game that a Bills QB ever had. My guess would be Jim Kelly, but I don't think even he had a 500+ outing in his career.
simaticable
Congrats Falcons, I hope you realize that you guys need some serious work on your defense. Losing 3 in a row, wow. I hope this game is a wake up call.
Hilltopper39
^Yeah, as I was watching that game last nigh all I could think was maybe Atlanta just isn't very good? I mean I know they went to the NFC Championship last year but this year they just don't seem to be doing anything right, almost like there's been a culture change of sorts within that organization. I mean I know they went to the NFC Championship last year but this year they just don't seem to be doing anything right, almost like there's been a culture change of sorts within that organization. I always thought Atlanta was overrated last year. They escaped in many games, and even though they did have Matt Ryan to close out games, they just seemed like they were just plain lucky some games. I think that one of the main reasons they might be dropping so many games it that Steven Jackson has been out since Week 2, and they haven't been able to establish a solid running game is any games. simaticable
If you aren't aware: WASHINGTON—Following an outpouring of criticism from across the country, the Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they are officially changing the team’s name to the D.C. Redskins. “We’ve heard the concerns of many people who have been hurt or offended by the team’s previous name, and I’m happy to say we’ve now rectified the situation once and for all,” said franchise owner Dan Snyder, adding that “Washington Redskins” will be replaced with “D.C. Redskins” on all team logos, uniforms, and apparel. “It was a difficult decision—and one that, frankly, I’m a little embarrassed took me so long to make. So hopefully we can now put this issue to bed and start cheering on our D.C. Redskins.” In light of Snyder’s decision, Cleveland Indians owner Larry Dolan told reporters he will change the feather in Chief Wahoo’s headdress from red to a “more appropriate” shade of red. Jew
The outcry over the name is kind of ridiculous at this point. I don't even think most people would know Redskins is a derogatory term if not for the constant complaining over the name.
djboss302
I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous. While I'm happy they're keeping the Redskin name (I thought it was dumb that people were pressuring them to change it) I don't think they need to change their name to "DC Redskins." They have always been the Washington Redskins, and it's retarded how their changing it after all these years. .

cmullin
I know there are a select few people who find the name offensive, but does changing their name from the Washington Redskins to the D.C. Redskins change the meaning of the team name? The logo is till the same, which is the picture of the Native American, so it doesn't really change anything. If you're going to change the name of your franchise, actually change it.
