Obscurerider
I just recently read a great book called Utopia by Lincoln Child. It's a thriller about a theme park being taken over terrorists. I highly recommend it because it's a great book and it's about theme parks.
timetrial3141592
Wrong forum. It should go in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, and Donkeys forum. Anyway, I liked it too, but I had one little issue. The Scream Machine could apparently hold 120 people per train. That would make the train incredibly unwieldy.
Obscurerider
Oh sorry I wasn't exactly sure which section this topic should go in how would I change it? And yeah most of the rides were a little unrealistic but the ideas behind them were pretty cool. I personally liked the horse drawn carriage coaster. If someone made a RCT version of the park it would be pretty cool.
RollerC
I attempted to make Utopia. I had the whole set up and almost all the rides but my computer crashed a few days later and everything was lost. I posted pictures of it on RCT Station years ago. Obscurerider
Wow that sucks you lost all your hard work, do you have any links to the pics?
timetrial3141592
Actually, aside from the Scream Machine, everything could be done. The carriage ride = LoCoSuMo; Camelot = Intamin w/ animatronics, BBE = Gravity Group, drop tower = brilliant,...
Obscurerider
Yeah I can see why the one mistake is bugging you so much becuase everything else is brilliant.
Billy Shears
Eh, the best theme park-based book hands down is Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, and it's completely free (Cory Doctrow is a cool dude): Google books. Set in the future, where company-like groups have taken over sections of the Magic Kingdom. I ended up buying it because it's so great. There's a ton more formats if you want to read it on a PDA or something here.
