I_Love_X
This is going to be my first TR so I apologize ahead of time if it sucks. Me and 3 of my friends arrive at Magic Mountain at around 10:35 and run to the season pass entrance. It was really empty today and all the lines besides X didn't take more than 15 minutes. We quickly get in and start our walk to X. We get there and fortunately the line was long yet. We went to the station on the other side of X facing the parking lot entrance. We finally got to the top of the stairs and we went to the front row. The wait in the station took 45 minutes in because of slow operations and only 1 train running. While we were waiting a line started forming on the right side of the front row where the ride op stands. I was surprised and so was the ride op. Some guy in the front said that he was there for single rider line. He was giving the ride op a hard time and being six flags employee, she couldn't understand very well. I told the guy that X has a single ride line only on weekends. He tried to make up a bs excuse and he was the only one giving a hard time when they were told to go back to the bottom of the stairs. We got on X and it was an amazing ride as usual. It was my friends first time and he was freaking out on the way up and I tried to calm him down. It was funny as hell. I couldn't stop laughing at how scared he looked. X is getting rough at the end though and it really needs a paint job. After X we headed to the Tatsu station to check out the line and it was really long already. We decided to skip it until later. We took the pathway to Superman. We got to the top of the stairs and hit up Ninja real quick before we went to Superman. Ehh, really boring ride and I'm not a fun of suspended roller coasters. We got off and finally went to Superman. To my surprise, they were running the right track. That was my first time on the right track and I'm glad I got that credit. We sat in the front row for the first ride and we came back. People were waiting so we did a re-run in the second row. My friend was being stupid and recording with his phone during the ride. It ended up being a funny as hell video haha. We got of Superman and started heading down the hill for some Deja Vu. We got to Deja Vu and we were all expecting a huge line but the line was only to the bottom of the ramp and it took us 10 min to get into the station. I sat in row 12 so it was my first time on the outside seat. This ride seriously scares me when it pulls you up backwards. The feeling of falling into your harness just messes with my head really bad. But still, it's one of my favorite rides there. When we got off Deja Vu it was about 12:30 so we went to go eat at Mooseburger Lodge. We got to Mooseburger Lodge and I ordered the chicken tenders and it comes with fries and a pickle After we left from Mooseburger Lodge we decided to get a quick ride on Log Jammers. It was hilarious when we were waiting in line on the first stairs where you go up. Two of my friends were leaning on the railing watching this group of four girls pass by in their log when they just took off. I stood behind my two friends and I waived Hi. They waived back and my two friends thought it was to them and they got all happy. One of them turned around and said "HEY YOU SEE THAT, THOSE GIRLS WANT ME." I was laughing really hard and he said what?!! And I told him what happened and we all just laughed lol. After Log Jammers we went to Goliath. We walked through that long ass Goliath queue and we go up the stairs to find the station empty. We didn't feel like waiting for front row so we just sat in the back. We did two runs since it was empty. After the second run we head to Colossus and Scream. Colossus was really slow because of 1 train operations. It was a fun ride but it gets a little bit boring and not much airtime. For me at least. We took the short walk from Colossus exit to Scream. The station was really filled and I was wondering what the hell was going on. Scream is never crowded. And I found out it was 1 train operations again. We finally get on and on the way to the top, we get stuck on the lift hill. But they soon fixed it and we got off. Off to batman we were. I really love Batman. I don't know why but I do. It's really short but I just love how it throws you around in your seat during the corkscrews (I think thats what they're called. Sorry I don't know the terms too well yet.) And the loops are awesome as well. After that ride, one of my friends was looking really messed up. I asked him if he was okay and he said Batman messed him up. He didn't sit on like 3 rides but afterwards he was okay. We did freefall real quick and afterwards headed to Tatsu again. We stood in line and reached front row real quick. We finally got on and finished the ride and afterwards we just wanted to get on chill, calm rides. So we did Jet Stream and Tidal Wave. We hit up Goliath one more time to find a train stuck about 20 feet from the top of the lift. We saw the ride ops climbing the lift to get to them. They soon got it running again and did some safety rides. We quickly got on front row because many people left. Afterwards we were all tired and it was around 6:30 so we left. It was an alright trip to SFMM but the 1 train operations were pissing me off because the lines were double the length of what it should have been. Ride Count: X: 1 Ninja: 1 Superman: 3 Deja Vu: 1 Log Jammers: 2 Goliath: 3 Colossus: 1 Scream: 1 Jet Stream: 2 Freefall: 4 Viper: 2 Tatsu: 1 So yea, I know it was really long and it was my first TR so it probably sucked. Thanks for reading it and I can't wait till I go back during Fright Fest.

kraxleRIDAH
One train operation on coasters, still? What a great turn-around year for Magic Mountain.
DBJ
That was a good trip report. It sounds like you did pretty well with the lines actually. I think part of the purpose of the 1 train op is to create lines when crowds are light. The last thing a park wants to do is to have people whip through the park without spending money. Imo, as enthusiasts some are incredibly impatient and want to basically walk onto rides. Waits of up to a 1/2 hour for one of the major rides are perfectly reasonable, even 45 for X is doing well considering it's history. During Fright Fest, I would suspect that everything will be back up to at least 2 train ops. It might not help the wait in line situation however, as it tends to be pretty crowded most nights. I wouldn't be too surprised if you actually did more during this trip that what will be possible during FF. My advice is to definately invest into the Flash Passess, knock out the coasters during the daylight, and do the mazes/shows at night.
downunder
I went there last thursday (8/16), and the only real lines were for X and Tatsu. X was pretty bad but not as bad as it could be (1 to 1.25 hours around 6pm), only one train running and a dispatch around every six minutes. It sounds like they are going to fix the inefficient loading/unloading process when they get new trains and re-do the station, so I've been told. I actually had a good day there on Thursday, which was unexpected.
AngelFan
I went about a week ago on Thursday and was quite suprised at the good time both my girlfriend and I had. The park seemed well operated with 2 train operations on every ride! NICE! All I got to say is the extreme pass we bought earlier in the year sure pays off! 25% off Mooseburger baybee! Free Flash Passes each visit. Good times! One thing we did notice is they had a lot of foreign exchange students there. Is this something new? They were all very nice and seemed happy to be there. downunder
I went to Mooseburger as well with a 20% off voucher and because my friend got a silver season pass I got in free, it was a good day for discounts. And this really incredibly cool dude gave us some free flash passes and we got to meet the new director of operations for the park who was very nice, and we had dinner up the road after with some rather great company. I won't mention names because they are very humble people.
