Yeah. I'm fairly moderate to liberal in my politcal views, and I had two gay roomates in college who I got along with just fine. But, I do think that something like this is a bit excessive.

Worst of all, by doing this around families who may not of been aware of this, these men are basically helping to perpetuate the stereotype of gay men being nothing but hard partying, cross-dressing wild men who can't keep their hands off each other, and that's not a good message to send to children especially, since their brains absorb tons of things at that age. If they see gay men acting like that in public, they're going to grow up thinking they're ALL like that.

I was lucky, because I grew up with a mom who knew a gay couple in town, and they were nothing like that. But most kids don't get that kind of exposure in the real world outside of WDW.

Straight here too. I used to work at Disney-MGM and there were a LOT of gay people working there. I'd hear rumblings that 15-25% of the cast are gay. *IF* those numbers are even close to being true, can you imagine the backlash Disney would get if they didn't allow it?

And does Disney actually promote it, or is it just something the gay folks do on their own?

This is not a Disney sponsored event. WDW and DL are open to everyone on any day. Just as the company would not tell you or warn you there are large groups of tpr.com folks in the park they would not in this case either. ... plus...seriously.. its 2005 folks... not the 1800's

Oh and a guy and girl don't do that? Everone who is a couple does that. Especially at parks.

I personally am fine with it. But I do agree that they should have it posted at the park and on a calender for visiters who don't wish to visit during that time.

So they would be promoting the park on every day, by saying park opens at So and so and closes at so and so.

And if people who have no clue what gay days is and visit during that time, they will definity have a very big problem with that especially if they have children. They will probly demand a refund. And something will come out along the lines of "Why wasn't I told about this"

Please don't twist what I'm saying. I have a problem with ANY couple having public displays in places like WDW. I see a guy and girl getting all affectionate in any public place and I get uncomfortable with it, because that is not the place for that sort of thing. That's what I meant.

Right, just who do these people think they are. Assembling in a public place trying to legitimatize who they are. And what about the children!? the little snot nosed angels. Why do these people feel they should be treated like everyone else?! Lets all put on sheets and protest!!!11

Come on people, hate gays because your a bigot, not because of what you think they do to children. It's not like they're witches or something.

Maybe, I'm honestly not sure. I can't say that it's unlikely, but I'm not aware of any.

Pending litigation aside, I dont know what your church is telling you, but there are many gay couples with children. I used to date this girl with two dads. The girl-dad was pretty damn funny.

Being a gay american myself, I do think gay days is just to much. Children shouldn't be exposed to sexuality yet, especially when they are having sex at 12years old.

I wonder what will happen if Disney takes away gay days? I'll tell you. Probly nothing. Homosexuals will still flock to the park, just there won't be any rainbow balloons and gay activites.

But for the content, if you want to come, you should be able to keep it approprite. A kiss is fine. But you really don't need to french all over a family spot.

Kissing is fine, deep throating is a no-no, check. What are the other guidelines for being the gay? Are hands in back pockets of daisy dukes all right or is that just on tuesdays?

You mentioned gay americans but what about gay asians? I don't read "Out" very much so I'm not abrest of current eitiquette.

I went to gay days at wdw along time ago, at least 8 yrs ago, so i cant say how it is now at the parks.

But when i did go(unknown to me and my family wife and young son/daughter that is was gay day)during gay days i found some of the behavior not suitable for a public place, and it wouldnt have mattered if they were gay or straight, though this time is was primarily gay people.

In the beginning of the day we had no problems at all but as it got later in the day IMHO there were certain people that were ass grabbing/dry humping etc in a over the top manner so as to draw attention to themselves from family's who had kids in tow. And this i think is wrong gay or straight and theme parks shouldnt be used just to make a point which i felt was done by some people.

I hope everyone enjoys themselves at the park, but i dont care if you are gay or straight you should leave your sexual dersires for a more private place than a theme park.

I've written several scathing letters to the Disney corporation about how they need to do everything in their power to make this so called "gathering" of these so called "people" go away forever.

I'm calling for some kind of a standardized test to be presented to all guests arriving at WDW on the days in question. Whether or not a person will be permitted to attend shall be based on their knowledge (or lack thereof) regarding 1. monster trucks, 2. professional wrestling, 3. Deuteronomy (this part is actually a trick, just to see if any of them think I'm referring to Old Deuteronomy from "Cats." and 4. Toby Keith's wonderfully stirring music.

Anyone who fails to pass the test (or falls for the "Cats" trick will be forced to swim back to the TTC.

Oh, did I mention that we were going to buy some piranah for Seven Seas Lagoon? Granted, this is going to severely make life rough for the parasailing/water-skiing crowd, but it's what has to be done to make Disney as straight-friendly as possible.

If this takes off, I think we can also start the "no shirt, no shoes, no kids, no entry" policy. Adults who don't go to Disney with children clearly aren't adhering to the old "be fruitful and multiply" thing. They'll be escorted to private rooms at the Grand Floridian where they'll be forced to watch pornographic material until they fulfill the need to reproduce.

Oh, wait. I think the AFA called off their Disney boycott last week. They've now set their sights on the hedonistic FORD company.

Fine, we'll let the gay people have Disney. Never mind.

/if anyone took a shred of this sincerely, please see a therapist.

//Disney doesn't care if you're gay, straight, bi, tri, or a hermaphrodite. As long as your pockets are lined with cash, all are welcome.

///Walt Disney, the man, however...well, draw your own conclusions.

////I'd fail miserably at a test that meets the standards given above. In fact, I'd fall for the Deuteronomy trick. It all stems back to this time when I was a kid and Mr. Mistoffelees....I can't talk about it now...

^Damn, that Mr. Mistoffoles just seems to be raping all the kids nowadays!

As a gay man I would purposely avoid GayDays like the plague, and I am so fed up with this limited, narrow view of gay people presented in the media. Will & Grace and Queer as Folk, while mildly entertaining, do absolutely nothing to positively portray the silent majority of gay people who live shockingly normal, quiet lives.

And I don't see how Disney could possibly let it get any more out of hand without starting to promote it; come on, through the whole gay week they have "special parties" in Pleasure Island, and have a massive midnight rave inside Typhoon Lagoon!

These people are not making political statements, they're just being plain silly and making complete idiots of themselves.

Personally, I find gay people offensive. Thaty's why my church group and I have decided to do an in park protest. We are all getting matching red shirts with our groups name (Far Away, Gay!)...that's alot of words for a shirt, though. We might have to make it an acronym.

Look for the red shirts that say F.A.G! on them.
