St.LouisBOI
Ok, so on the 14th me and a friend went to Six Flags St. Louis which is our local park. It was a great warm day and we had a blast. Despite the crowds...we were able to handle it throughout pretty much the whole day. Superman was still closed and repairs and fixing up was going on too with separate cars all day long. I'll get to the basics... Batman: The Ride - 1 ride (1 hour wait) Ninja - 2 rides (10 min. waits) Ninja now has an on-ride photo right before the final helix. River King Mine Train - 1 ride (15 min. wait) Gotta love that ending in the tunnel with the ghost. Screamin' Eagle - 2 rides (30 min. waits) Instead of buckets to put items in when you ride, they have numbered cubbords painted red, white and blue. Tony Hawk's Big Spin - 1 ride (1 hour 45 min. wait) I love this ride and the on-ride video make sit even better. I can never seem to control my laughter on this ride either. 2 skinny teenagers on one side + 1 large adult on the other = lots of spinning action! The Boss - 1 ride (30 min. wait) Rough? Where the hell was it rough? I have no idea...but my friend got a cramp from riding. I just don't get it. (?) Mr. Freeze - none (over a 2 hour wait) Completely ridiculus! I have no clue if both sides were running. Log Flume - 1 ride (5 min. wait) Johnny Rockets - 1 large American fry basket (45 min. wait) The wait wasn't worth the fries I got. Overall, I now just realize how few times I rode anything...I guess it was just too packed for the Sat. and it was HOT. Well, one thing is for sure. Six Flags is really cleaning up their act and Shapiro is doing a great job handling the company thus far. I look forward to more of his management in the future. Anyways, on to the pictures...Enjoy! ADMIN EDIT: In the future do not use the words "Photo TR" unless you actually have photos in your trip report. If need be, you can always change the subject later. Also ... please limit your uploaded images to no more than 800 pixels wide. These images are WAY too big.
Homer
This picture sums up this "Photo" TR: Aside from that, it sounds like SFStL is rolling in the dough. Glad to see another positive SF trip report, aside from crowds. Ah, Ray Charles...

Tyrant
Regarding Freeze, we were indeed running only one train the entire day since the other transfer table needed to have a wheel replaced, and that alone is an 8 hour job. So our mechanics waited untill the park closed and pulled an all-nighter to get it done. We did go searching for the "this ride will be running at reduced capacity" sign but couldn't find it anywhere since most all of the signs have been remade this year. Instead we posted an employee out at the front of the gate to let guests know we were only running one train due to technical difficulities. Early in the day though the line almost never left the station, wasn't untill after 1pm or so the line blew up. Glad you enjoyed your day though, I was working at Freeze (obviously) till about 2pm, then the rest of the night till around 5-ish was videotaping for our employee department training video. So if you saw an employee wandering around with a camera, that was me.
bgwfreak
Cool report. I really liked SF St Louis on my first trip there last year. Of the 4 SFs I've been to, it was my 2nd favorite! The spinner looks fun too.
IwantRevenge
very cool TR. SFStl still has their Shawrtzkopf Enterprise, and still have their evolution, GADV! does Tony Hawk tend to have a big line?
coastercrazed49
Wow thats a long line for Mr. Freese. Is it normally that long?
Homer
I apologize for my above post. Awesome TR, SFStL seems like the black sheep of the original SF parks, but it still looks like one of the most beautiful parks in the chain. Great theming too! very cool TR. SFStl still has their Shawrtzkopf Enterprise, and still have their evolution, GADV! Actually, that Evolution was from SFGAdv. It was moved to SFStL in 2003. foxtrott24
Awesome photo TR! After viewing your pics, I definitely want to visit SFSTL - it looks very clean, and well-kept. Great looking Justice League, the best Flash and Batman I've ever seen at any SF park. It's great that you saw so many characters - I think that makes for a fun day. I didn't see any photos of a parade - do they have one? If so, how was it? Does Shaprio favor this location, or does it get lost in the crowd of the larger and more "high-profile" parks??? Kevin Long
Thanks great trip report - It is rare that someone will take photos of something besides the big coasters. Your trip brought back a ton of memories for me, I was a a ride op at this park, for four years - way back in the dark ages. I haven't been there in 15+ years and I live less than 20 miles away. I could recognize a few things that haven't changed but most of the park is now diffferent. I worked there long before the take over and the influx of WB stuff. Thanks again
MisterP
I'm shocked the lines were that long! May I suggest not going on Saturday, and going on Tuesday or Wednesday right at opening. You'll have so many rides on Freeze, Boss, etc. that you'll only need to stay until like 3. But since it was a Saturday with the nicest July weather in the history of St. Louis, I guess it makes sense that the park was crammed. I wouldn't go that day for free. youthink?
Great TR! I love this Six Flags, it had a great atmosphere. Except I didn't get to go on Mr. Freeze because it was closed, and I waited for Tornado for like an hour.
bgwfreak
Pretty much any park this size is going to be busy on a Saturday. I was there on a Thursday last year and I did all the coasters in like 2.5 - 3 hours tops. Longest waits were Boss and Mr Freeze (probably 20 minutes tops even with only one train). BTW, do they run both trains on that ride anymore?
Tyrant
We always run two trains when possible. On the weekends we staff Freeze so that we can start off running two trains immeditatly. However as I stated earlier one side of Freeze was shutdown on saturday because of a part that needed to be replaced on the transfer table, which is an 8-hour job and needs to be done when the ride is shutdown. We had one minor shutdown for about an hour or so on saturday as well which didn't help the line too much. The typical wait for Freeze on two trains on a saturday like yesterday would have been 30-45 minutes. When we have two trains going, we can launch trains like clockwork, the Freeze crew this year is very good. So with the cooperation of guests, we can almost 90% of the time have a train ready for launching once the other train comes back into the station to do a synchronized switch. Also for anyone preparing to ride, do NOT bring change onto the ride hoping to see "weightlessness". If we catch you with change in your hands we will kick you off. There have been several times where someone in the booth sees someone trying to pull change out of their pockets when we are sliding the table over, we will stop the table, bring it back, and kick you off. We take the change policy very seriously, as people can get hurt badly esspically since Thunder River and its loading dock is so close to the top-hat and spike. Disney Dood
People always want to wait for the shortest ride. (KK, TTD, Mr. Freeze). Nice TR.
lil jimmy norton
Great pics man.I am so jealous of all the flats you guys have.
MisterP
^Actually, our flat selection isn't very good. If I'm not mistaken, other than the Intamin drop tower and the fairly lame Xcalibur, they haven't added a non-kiddie modern flat in over a decade. The rest you could ride at any carvinal. St.LouisBOI
Thanks for all of the comments. Now that I think about it, I didn't even ride any flats when I was there. I mostly either waited for a coaster, took pictures, or sat around because it was too hot.
woah_killa
Has anybody noticed this?
bgwfreak
LOL! I didn't even notice that either for shock of the length of the line! That looks like one of those stupid camp games where you had to pass the egg from one person to another without using your hands. Man, talk about sucking face.
St.LouisBOI
Hah, I for sure never noticed that. I think I was in shock also over the length of the line even though we were warned by a ride-op at the entrance that the wait would be 2 hours...but I just had to see if it were so. And yeah, it was. And for whoever who asked about the lines for Tony Hawk...the whole queue gets filled up and sometimes spills out onto the pathway. Basically about an 1 and a half to 2 hour wait...and that's with about 6 cars running. *Hurricane Harbor PTR is coming up either tomorrow or Thursday.*
