OldJJman
I don't feel like typing a whole bunch about what everybody else has heard about, so I'll just give rough outlines and lots of pictures. Day 0 Starts out 1 hour late out of LA, meeting others in Newark, camping out for another 6 hour delay, getting to Madrid. Heading off to dinner, etc... Please enjoy. Graffiti. Sperm or Ghost? You decide. Robb contemplates buying a condom from the machine. Doesn't have enough money, so no extra gift for the "bags-o-crap" Hi Derek. Madrid is Elissa approved. You had to be there. We found a really cool salad/buffet right across from the Spanish Wal-Mart Juan Carlos bust auditioning for the role of Christopher Pike in: "Star Trek 452" Cool looking building. Off we go in search of edible food! Our hotel. The waiting before we venture in search of food. Madrid airport, and it's "art". For an $8 food voucher, you can get some really nasty hot wings that will affect everyone on the plane for the next 7.5 hours! Chris (pre Tiara) and the Hoffman girl wondering how I'm still alive. Not a lot to do during a 6 hour flight delay.

OldJJman
Day 1 I went with Robb and Jon down to the central train station in Madrid, checking on things for Day 2. We, along with other early arrivals went to Parque de Atracciones de Madrid in the afternoon. Back at the hotel, how many people can we fit into an elevator?? When in Spain... Abismo looked good from everywhere. You know it's a good park when it has a carousel! The pirate ship from hell. Was this park owned by Nintendo at some point?? (shudder) Purdy fountains in the park. Chris thought that this was "Led Zeppelin: The Ride" The first TPR group to ride. "YOU BASTARDS!" Uneven breast carvings. Elephant bathing pool, complete with flood lights. Hippo pool Smelly crocs. Nice, safe, enclosed rafts. Ghetto Jungle Cruise Random concrete tree. Abismo. "Look Ma, no supports!" He ended up kicking her out. (Too many teeth for him!) Chris, trying to take the Hoffman girl for a ride. Hi Derek! The Paparazzi was everywhere we went! Scary exit. Ed was moonlighting to pay for his trip. Lou practicing her photo skills. "It's a Small Spain" Pteronadon flyers, Spanish version. The non-accessible observation tower. Tornado picture. Tornado entrance. Hello Officer Rich! Tarantula picture. Tarantula queue. Abismo picture. Abismo rock. NOT a credit! Nice entrance plaza. The front gate. We made it! The Hoffman girl demonstrates the fine art of ice cream eating while walking. The back gate. Sorry, no pictures of the hookers. Robb directing the first of many infomeetings. The central train station in Madrid was gorgeous!
Homer
Nintendo Park? Hot damn, get me some tickets to that park! Great TR so far, I think you pretty much covered the needs of the average 13-15 year old TPR member. Still curious about that Nintendo park though. piers
Its quite a bizarre picture. I seem to have a ghostly chef coming out of my head!?
Meteornotes
Why is Lou's head all "I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor....I'm a tumor...." I have been walking around the house singing this over and over and over and over until I finally stopped doing it and sort of forgot about it. Until now. Damn you, Robb! dt
Louise
^ Me too!!! I'm not even a Family Guy fan, and at random intervals during the trip and then ever since, in completely silence, suddenly I hear "I'm a tumour I'm a tumour I'm a tumour!" and have to sing it. Grrr. That picture IS odd, it's like my whole body is hidden behind Robb. LOL at Piers's ghostly chef!! Ed looks like he has a wooden ponytail, and there's something off about the perspective of the green things behind Elissa. Interesting focus. Airtime&Gravity
Good tr so far Jeff, and it's one of the best from the trip The TPR antics are shown really well, and you proved that when taken at the right moment, a picture can be a classic Airtime-I'm a tumor I'm a tumor I'm a tumor-&Gravity
BarryH
Great photos! I just hope people don't go "whaa, whaa, when is the next update?" on this thread or I will slap them silly.
OldJJman
My Day2 was officially "Day 1" of the TPR trip. We took the bus down to main train station in Madrid to catch the high speed "AVE" train to Seville. We had a bus waiting there to take us to Isla Magica. Enjoy. Isla Magica. More pics tonight. This is the cool bridge we crossed getting to..... One of many cool bridges we saw. Looks to be an amusement park nearby! On the bus, we passed an odd looking glass gym. The tracks from station level. Thousands of bugs sacrificed their lives, as the "TPR Express" must go thru!! Nothing like taking a serious picture in front of a great train. Mel wasn't about to let that happen. The end of the line. The station in Seville. Caught James smiling. Neener, neener, neener!! Robb get hungry. KT is mortified!! KT seems happy on her first high speed train ride. Until.... I can easily control my excitement. Elissa , on the other hand, can't wait for "bonus helix" Beautiful Spanish countryside. No matter where we went in Spain, there were always construction cranes to be found. (seriously) I like taking pics from moving trains. Deal with it. Robb walking the aisle making sure everyone made it. We almost filled up a whole car. Note: I almost caught James smiling. Meandering our way onto the train. Track 7, car 5. They knew that TPR was here, so the cleaning crews put a final coat of wax on the trains for good measure. Waiting for our track number to be posted. Not too bright, but fairly early. Look at all the pretty trains!!
BeemerBoy
No matter where we went in Spain, there were always construction cranes to be found. (seriously) I love the very next picture after this quote. And do they really wax down the trains regularly? I'm fascinated by the bullet trains, but had no idea about how often they're cleaned, etc. I assume waxing aides with the wind resistence factor? Anyway, cool pics. Homer
El AVE, haunting me after graduating Spanish III (seriously, we spent like a week in my Spanish class studying about this train). Can't wait for the bonus helix action!
thefitness
Nice pictures! Spain looks like it has some awesome architecture. Those suspension bridges were really cool looking.

OldJJman
Pics from Isla Magica, where the temperature topped off at 108 degrees!! No more pictures, please. So ends Day 2 KT had a great day, BUT..... Back at the train station, we had some time to explore the shops before we headed back to Madrid. We found a/c underneath the bar. The ladies rejoiced! Good parks always have carousels. (cough::Holiday World::cough) Elissa wasn't sure to make of Isla Magica's version of El Toro. Whee! Credit whores doing what we do best! Robb in the queue for the kiddie coaster. Another Elissa Bingo opportunity missed. Random archway. Robb, Chris, Jon, Rebecca, and Mary survive. Dave can't seem to pull his head out. About to be eaten by a creature of faded paint and concrete. Angry Robb statue. Up into the dark depths of whatever it is. It was for an Indiana Jones clone (kinda) themed to something like the Flintstones. No Dorritos syndrome. No one with a heart, which makes it TPR friendly. No cash registers. Gotta love their safety signs. They're kind of strange. This one says: No Gout. (Sorry Steve!) The new credit that wasn't. Herbie "The Lovebug" meets Battlestar Gallactica. It's sad when the water is greener than the plants supposedly reflecting off of it. Splashdown ride. YeeHaw. no thanks. Water too green. Entrance into the "bonus" helix. Oh effen joy! Actually, it was probably the only part of the ride that did not suck. You can just feel the pain. Or hear Robb yelling "Duck Me!" or something to that effect. Cool name. Cool logo. Lousy ride. More random themeing. Our ERT ended on the spinning, shoot-em-up, pirate dark ride. Pretty cool. Our ERT was indoors (thank God!) in a 4-D theater. One featured a cat going thru a haunted house. The other, forgettable. The 3-D was great. The 4-D, so-so. Random themeing outside a live show stadium. Pieces of the Berlin wall. Modern day Noah themeing. Hi Derek! (Also, one of the ONLY places in the park with a/c. Cool looking towers, but no way to get up in them.
Nrthwnd
I'd say that's pretty random having two pieces of the Berlin Wall there? For 'themeing'? Was it part of a bigger display?
bgwfreak
You should go back when it's finished...oh wait, it is! I like architecture and random stuff like that as well. Great PTR!
SteveC
Jeff - thanks for the gout reminder, and I will of course look out for the sign in future BTW - how are the panoramics going and can/will they be posted to site?
