Featuring some of the most outlandish roller-coaster concepts ever imagined, as well as new ways to talk to park guests and a wider array of carnival games, this October release amps up the family-friendly mix of gameplay that made the original Thrillville such a hit. Frontier Developments returns to create Off the Rails, which will scream onto the Xbox 360™ videogame system from Microsoft, Wii™ home videogame system from Nintendo, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Games for Windows and, with the help of developer DC Studios, Nintendo DS™. Off the Rails lives up to its name with 20 death-defying rides so outrageous, they inspire the same word from every park visitor who sees them: "WHOA!" Players build these incredible "WHOA Coasters" to leap from one track to another, launch through the air like cannonballs, blast through burning rings of fire and more. A new lighthearted story ties together more than 100 missions, complete with 34 playable multiplayer theme-park games and improved social interaction with park guests. The in-depth conversations both advance the plot and suggest better ways to manage the park. But is every guest to be trusted? One never knows when a rival from the nefarious Globo-Joy might attempt to sabotage Thrillville parks with deceptive information... Even though Thrillville is not a super realistic sim like No Limits or as in-depth as RCT3, it was still a great game to play. Also, glad Thrillville is finally coming to the Wii and DS. thefitness Posted July 4, 2007 Share Posted July 4, 2007 Just read this on Screamscape, I'm gonna stick with No Limits and RCT. I rented Thrillville for my PSP a while ago for a plane ride. I wasn't impressed at all. Looking out my window kept my attention more than the game did. It'll be interesting to see how they improve on the original game though. Great replay value, and I love some of the mini games...I'll definately be buying the DS one when it comes out. Mmm, portable theme park game. Angry_Gumball Posted July 5, 2007 Share Posted July 5, 2007 Actually, I can see the Wii's and DS's controls more practical for this type of game as we could just point & click instead of keep hitting the D pad to get to a specific thing. timetrial3141592 Posted July 9, 2007 Share Posted July 9, 2007 Sure the DS can handle it. It has two graphics engines, each of which can operate on either screen independently of each other. THe DS can't play DVDs, but that's what DVD players (read: NOT PS3 XBox 360, or PSP) are for. Gav Posted November 16, 2007 Share Posted November 16, 2007 ^the only way to get it is to download and pay for it online, and that goes for all countries, except Germany which saw a retail release, it's a nice way to spend $32 Aud or so, great value for the amount you can do with it.
