Canobie Fan
So on Friday I drove my friend down to his dads house in CT... And after I dropped him off I went up to SFNE for a few hours before they closed for the night. I had read on a different site that SFNEs new Train Town thing was going to open that day.. But when I went it didnt even look down yet.. So I dont know whats up with that... the area looks nice for a SF park.. But most of the rides you can see from the fence are "inner park clones"... like now SFNE has 3 rides where you "fly" a "plane" and also 2 "crazy bus" rides.... Anyways.. Photos. After like... 5 season without lights... Scream now has working lights!!! (lame video here - ) SCREAMS LIGHTS NOW WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Filler photo before 2 shocking photos :O New line watcher seat in SROSs line.. Only took them 8 years Well as I only had 3 hours in the park and had only been on Superman,Scream,Splashwater,Thunderbolt, and Batman... I went back and took 2 more SROS rides before they closed at 9. Thunderbolt was also a walk on for once :O So I rode it... yay Scream didnt have a line.. But it wasnt running combo... So I just rode it once.. Anyone want some money? Mmmm... sexy Hmm.. Front side running.. Hadnt seen this in a few years.... Random tent in the staff lot At least I got a good row.. On such a crappy ride. :O The mist was on!... Something I have seen maybe 3 times in my life.... BDK... I hate it.. But it was a walk on.. So I rode it. Random tent now blocks the path that went back to where Spider was. Kip [Mind Eraser] was broke (with riders on it that you cant see in this photo) Still havent got around to riding Crime Wave in its new home... At least they fixed the bats. Splashwater was the longest wait of the night... And even that wasnt bad. Wiggles World... more like...Ghost Town Blahblahblah... Through the trees....blahblahblah LAME (Yet I want it..) Yeah... Its good. ROS was running like.. 900 times better than it was back on opening day. On such a nice day.... I was shocked to fine SROSs line soooo short! Doooooom! Six Flags New Adland (yeah I didnt rip that off from that Great ADventure TR or anything...) SFNEs third plane fly ride. SFNEs second crazy bus. Not bad for a SF park.. right? Ballllooooon Hi.. Im not done yet.
canadianfreak
Those pictures of Scream look so cool, really like the lights. Nice TR.
SFNE Dude
Great TR. The park's looking good. I'm surprised the lines were so short. I've only been there once this year and when I went everything was a walk on too... even S:RoS. Those lights on Scream look awesome in that video. CP_RULES
Why do you hate B:TDK so much? Looks like a great, albeit short, ride!
Canobie Fan
*looks* I just dont like the ride.. Even when it was new in 2002 it just was kinda BLAH for me. I like the zero g roll it has.. but thats about it. The ride is rough (for a B&M) and the back row is killer in the corkscrews and because the ride has a BAD station layout you cant wait for rows... So you cant not pick the back one
EagleFan344
I liked BTDK when I was there in 2005...didn't seem rough for me at all.
moinab
We really need to check out SFNE the next time we go to visit my mom in Chicopee (hopefully next summer.) This was my home park, growing up, but I haven't been since the summer I graduated from high school (sadly, probably before you were born!) The Thunderbolt is the only thing I recognize from the old Riverside days. Wildcat was my first non-kiddie coaster. I don't think it exists, anymore. I've been bugging my parents to take me to SFNE for about 2 weeks now, but there is always something we need to do on weekends. I didn't even know Scream had lights. Looks great, reminds me of Millennium Force's lights.
moinab
Oh yeah, it was gone in the early 1980s, but it had an afterlife at another park, for a few years. I'm sure it's completely gone, now.
SFNE Dude
Why do you hate B:TDK so much? Looks like a great, albeit short, ride! I have to agree that it's not that great of a ride. It's probably one of the worst B&M's. It is very short, extremely forceless, and has probably the worst and slowest ride ops in the world. The ride isn't rough though. The corkscrews are the only slightly rough part and that isn't very noticeable. Oh yeah, it was gone in the early 1980s, but it had an afterlife at another park, for a few years. I'm sure it's completely gone, now. They got rid of Wildcat in 1983 and replaced it with Cyclone. It then went to Rocky Point in RI until that park closed in 1995. It is currently operating at Sandspit Cavendish Beach in Canada and has been since 1996.
moinab
Good to know it lives on somewhere. Even though I hated it.

And the other 2 from 2000 till around 2002...
IwantRevenge
nice TR dude love the filler photo. I'm going on a vacation to massachusetts this year. Do you have any idea how are SFNE is from Chatham?
apollo210
^ 2 1/2-3 hours. You're better off going to Canobie or Lake Compounce than SFNE because they're a shorter distance than SFNE is. If SFNE can keep the good work up, then I'm definetly going on August 18th!
coastermaniac123
I went earlier as well and must say TDK was a crappy rough ride, though it still was forceful. S:ROS was hauling on Tuesday, it was amazing in the front row! Sorry about Scream not running combo, when I went it was running combo, and had tons of airtime . The Thomas Town has an extra Crazy Bus, but are you sure the other ride is an exactly clone? No one can deny that B:TDK as crappy as it has been lately isn't a forceful ride. coastercrazed49
Nice Trip Report James! I noticed when I went to Six FLags that they had turned the bats right side up on the swings. I just sat there laughing to myself (yeah I know Im a loser. ) I am definetly going back this summer!!!
Disney Dood
I should be going sometime within the next 2 weeks. I've been hearing SROS has been running better than ever, is that true? Nice TR, BTW. ^ Finally they put them right side up. It's so sad they put them in upside down anyways. Almost as stupid as forgetting to add a chain to the lift hill. asr
When did they forget to put a chain on a lift hill? What coaster did they forget to put it on?
Disney Dood
When did they forget to put a chain on a lift hill? What coaster did they forget to put it on? It was a joke. That never really happened.
Freefallbestrideever
SROS looks very sexy and those lights on that tower look amazing.
coastermaniac123
Yes it's true, S:ROS has been hauling through its course lately, last few rides gave me airtime equal to some of Toro's airtime! It is also smoother lately, I am loving it!
Neogreeneyez
To the guy whos going to SFNE from chatham... Make sure you go ride Boulder Dash in Lake Compounce!! Is Boulder Dash really great? I've been meaning to make it out to Lake Compounce for a while... Is it worth the drive on a friday morning?
