Cedar Point PTR Part UNO: May 27, 2007

Cedar Point Day Uno:

 

As it is the 2nd day opening for Maverick, I'll give you a review on Maverick later on in the PTR.

As, I made the challenge of driving [Not Really] SURVIVING the 10 hour trip here and only 3 hours of sleep, I knew I'm not up for today.

We arrived around 6:00 AM and we knew that we couldn't check in our hotel yet, so we had to kill some time

by exploring Sandusky. We went to Kalahari to see what's going around there. I'll give you one construction photo!

 

 

 

 

That's done.. I'm dieing here with no sleep. We still went around and see what Sandusky had for us.

This isn't the first time we been here, it's just we haven't explored as much as we wanted.

We did explore and YES we did. Lol. I swear we almost got lost.

Sandusky has a mix community and culture.

Then, we went to Wal-Mart, my uncle wanted to get some stuff.

While he did, I stayed in the car and sleeped, and yes we actually stayed in the Wal-Mart's

parking lot and slept for atleast 2 hours.

 

We got to Cedar Point and got our very close parking and ready to "Trample" down the Midway

and all the way back to Maverick. Since we couldn't check in our hotel yet. We had to wait with the

General Public till 10:00.

Not really, as soon as we where released, LOL AMAZING RACE!

It was like running a mile, but trying to get in first. I had to slow down.. I was like pretty much ahead of everybody until

I had to slow down.

Mantis is still a great stand-up coaster. The Forces are outstanding. Trims were on hard =[

[Advise don't eat the pasta, it's pretty not cooked and hard]

Maverick Review:

Maverick is a crowd pleaser! As you wait in line and get inpatient of waiting, it sure is a pleaser to ride.

The S-Curve that replace the Heartline Roll, it didn't ruin the ride at all. I'm not gonna ruin whats inside the tunnel. =]

Word, Space Mountain?

To decide of the lift hill is a launch. I decide that it is.

You go up real quick and then all the sudden you drop.

WOW, the curves and the SEXY Airtime hill and YES YOU DO GET MAJOR AIRTIME!

Advise, try to get back seats! You don't really get to pick where you sit that's one of the cons of

Maverick. They deicde what row or lane you go it, not if your going to wait for front row.

Any Flaws in this ride. Yes, the first time I rode I was lucky to get back seat when you

go look at your on ride photo, sometimes the timing is wrong on the camera and you don't

get any photo at all [You just get a track photo]. That's one flaw they need to fix for Maverick.

The launch on Maverick is sure a fun one, the trims on the hill do slow you down, but it never will

let the pace down. The 2 Stregal Dives are AMAZING, to decide if this is an Inversion is another debate!

Just like Silver Bullet's really high banked turn.

The ride is just a constant pace and you are pumped for the next thing that's going to happen.

If I rate Maverick 1-10, I'll give MAVERICK A big 11 above 10. Nothing is wrong with this ride!

It's just amazing, you can't miss it. The 2 hour wait I waited in, IT SURE was worth it.

There will be different opinions about this ride, but this is mine. I asked an ACEr there that was there, he said

that this ride is a huge hit and Cedar Point did a right thing for this ride, I argeed with him.

Great trip report!! I am really interested in Maverick so thanks for your review! Also, a question about it, did you feel any of the transitions to be rough? Did you have to brace yourself for them or not? But great photos and everything!

Thanks for the TR and photos! Glad to see Maverick turned out good, I had a friend who went saturday and got to ride early since one of his friends went to a red cross event or something? Said it was a REALLY bad day outside, rainy on and off, and quite crowded. Thanks for sharing!

Stands for "general public", which is someone who isn't a coaster enthusist, or in this case, someone who isn't staying at one of Cedar Point's on-site hotels, and thus cannot get into the park an hour early.
