Groteslurf
Last week we visited Mirabilandia, Gardaland & Movieland. May 16 : Mirabilandia After a 2,5 hours drive from our hotel at the Gardalake, we arrived at Mirabilandia. All 3 parks where firsttimers for us and we decided to go for the coasterpark on the first day. The theming in the park was better than we expected, especially the entrance street and the Katun theming. Here are the pictures. Important : as this is my first tr, i obviously entered the pictures in reverse order ( = preview order). Sorry about that. Iso re-entering the pictures in the correct order, plse look at the Mirabilandia pictures in reverse order !! Mirabilandia entrance. Mainstreet ... ^ ...more mainstreet theming... ^ ^ Katun is now my favourite inverted B&M after Nemesis. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Impressive theming. Sierra Tonante. I liked this woodie. Strange trains though. ^ ^ Columbia & Discovery Monosaurus ^ ^ ^ ^ Explorer ^ Leprotto Express Ghostville darkride Huge theming Family Adventure Eurowheel Autosplash ^ Beautiful cars ... euh boats funny theming Rio Bravo Niagara ... ... where you get ... ... really soaked. Mirabilandia Beach which was still closed during our visit. Opening again June 2. ^ ^ New attraction Raratonga which was not open yet. Construction Raratonga

Inferno Insane
Nice report and photos and seeing some of the others rides at Mirabilandia. I never got to see much apart from credit whoring the coasters. Just couldn’t get away from Katun the 2nd best invert I been on as it never had a queue the two day I was there. I see Katapult has left, shame never got to ride that as it was close I look forward to next visit and try the others rides there again sometime in October, unless again the park is dead one’s again
Disney Dood
I would really like to ride Katun some day, it's very high up on my hit list. Nice TR. Mirabilandia seems like such a nice park....
Groteslurf
May 17 : Gardaland Gardaland was only 2 kms from our hotel, so we arrived at openingtime. We were very surprised to see huge crowds and terrible lines for buying tickets. We did not understand why Gardaland had opened only approx 6 of 26 pay-desks with such lines. Once inside the park, we had to wait maximum 5 minutes for the attractions so the crowds inside the park were excellent. Coasterwise, this is not the best parc but there some other excellent attractions and great themings, sometimes even a bit overthemed imo. Here the pictures, this time in the correct order exit Mirabilandia. Only a pitty that the boats are poorly themed. ^ ^ You actually don't get really wet ... ^ Theming !! Certainly one of the best themed waterrides i've seen... ^ Fuga da Atlantide ^ ^ ^ A well themed river rapid... Jungle Rapids Colorado Boat Another cooling station Peter Pan ride Ortobruco Tour ^ ^ Sequoia Adventure : great for taking pictures but an absolute pointless coaster. ^ ^ ^ Magic Mountain & Sequoia Adventure ^ ^ ^ Blue Tornado From the Flying Island you can actually see Movieland, the park we would visit the day after. ^ Construction of the 2008 coaster. ^ ^ ^ ^ Tunga boatride ^ Canyons ride ^ Flying Island ^ Space Vertigo ^ ^ Time Voyagers : the new 4D attraction with seats giving you a simulator feeling. ^ La Valle dei RE, Valley of the king if my italian is correct : another nice darkride. ^ ^ ^ Inside, under the ground is a huge darkride in boats. Amazing theming and especially the last scene made me feel as if i was really underwater. Great attraction. ^ The amazing I Corsari 4D movie where there are shown 3 different movies. We saw the mine coaster movie. cool station ^ ^ ^ ^ random theming ^ ^ Artificial 'Tree of life'. Inside is a madhouse. Rio Bravo ^ TransGardaland Express. The entrance. Still before the entrance. The themings starts already when you leave the parking lot.
coasterdude5
Great TR, Katun looks like a massive coaster, you got some great shots of it.
Groteslurf
May 18 : Movieland The smallest park of the 3 parks we visited but imo the most charming : although the crowds were minimal, there was a LOT of live entertainment all day around. I sometimes wondered whether Movieland has the right licences for all the names and characters in the park. It is a growing park and hopefully they will be able to add some major attractions & coasters in the next years. The park will then definitely will become a very interesting park. Here are the pictures, again in the correct order. Thanks for reading my TR's. Benny Movieland's waterpark Aquaparadise which opened the season the day after our visit. Medieval Times theatre ^ Actors making publicity for their Medieval Times dinner show. Jack Sparrow Batman theming Peter Pan stage At the end of the show, a Stallone look-a-like showed up. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Rambo action ^ Here are the 3 arrested visitors. The bad guys arresting visitors out of their seats. Rambo show actors ^ Scooby Doo ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Magma : fantastic ride and effects. Terminator 2 : 5D I guess the fifth dimensions are the real actors in the show/movie. Dukes theming ^ ^ ... not a coaster. .. and this is ... ... coaster ...... This is a ... ^ Log flume in X-city colours. Weird plastic dinosaur theming in the X-city part of the park. Again the princess. Also Snowwhite was wandering around in the park but i don't have a picture of her. The officer meeting a princess. You enter a bunker where you see a submarine in the water. Suddenly an air attack starts and you have to run to the officer on the submarine and enter the submarine where the simulator is. Very well themed ride. U-571 Submarine simulator. ^ Stuntmen Academy. With nice cheerleaders. ^ From the backstage ride, you can see the backside of the Stuntmen Academy/Rambo show stadium. ^ 'Back to the backstage' ride : the train stops 3-4 times where they tell the story of Back to the future. Back to the future theming. Another show : Zorro. ^ In a dark maze under the ground, you have close encounters with Freddie Krueger, Hannibal Lector, ... There is even an onride picture taken with one of the actors. Imo the top attraction of Movieland : Horror House. ^ ^ Blues Brothers entertainment The Terminator ^ ^ ^ The new attraction : Tomb Raider Machine was not open yet. You could however get a free ticket to come back when it would be open (btw, Mirabilandia is doing the same) First show we did : Movie Magic. I do not recommend this show if you don't understand italian. And even if you do speak italian, i think the show is not worth while. Charming pay-desks. PKI Jizzman
Awesome TR! Katun looks like a sick invert, and the park looks beautiful! Same with Gardaland, that rapids ride looks superb!
coastered
I really like your TR and it's very helpful for me, also because I am going to visit those 3 parks next month. I have a couple of questions for you: From the Movieland Studios park, Was that Hollywood Tower (Intamin 1st-gen droptower) already operational? Because this was the parks new ride from last year, and I never heard that it was open for the public. From that Tombraider topspin ride you said it was not open yet, but do you know an opening date? Last year Mirabilandia had a great looking Schwarzkopf rollercoaster with the name Katapult. You did not tell anything about it and no pics from this coaster too. What happened with this ride?? I really want to ride this rollercoaster.

I really want to ride this rollercoaster. I have to disappoint you : Katapult is no longer there. Imo it looked like a crappy ride anyway. There is however still a wild mouse coaster called Pakal if i remember well of which i didn't take any pictures either, as i was looking to Katun all the time which was right next to this wild mouse. The Hollywood tower drop ride was open and is a very weird experience. The Tomb Raider top spin is opening in May i read on the brochure and only the theming needs to finished i think but as there was not much action going on last Friday, i doubt whether they will be able to open in May. viking86
How were the ride operations at Movieland Studios?? When I was there, only a few attractions opened with the park. I'd guess we spent around 3 hours in the park, and we probably spent 2 of them just waiting for the attractions to open. A shame really, because it seems like a very nice park (except the X-area)

Some rides (horror house, U571) closed for 30 minutes during the big shows, but for the rest of the day, all rides were open and operational. For Magma, we had to wait until a truck was more or less filled but this did not take more than 5 minutes either.

matteocrepaldi
Nice photos and nice TR. Katun is really an awesome coaster. I really hope they give it a new paintjob soon because it's getting a little bit too rusty!
Groteslurf
Nice photos and nice TR. Katun is really an awesome coaster. I really hope they give it a new paintjob soon because it's getting a little bit too rusty! Yeah, I noticed that too. This is probably because of the Adriatic sea being very nearby. In Blackpool P.B. e.g. , it isn't difficult either to spot rusty tracks. Rusty or not, Katun rocked in any case : impressively themed, amazing first drop, smooth inversions and very powerful. spaceace12
In the first part of your tr, did that water slide have a lift to where you can sit in your tube and ride up? IF so, that is awesome, Climbing up 7 stories 12 times sucks.
matteocrepaldi
No; that lift is not for people but you don't have to climb all those stairs because there's an elevator. The queue for the slides is really messed up because there's one queue for all the slides so sometimes you wait 15 minutes to take the elevator for a slide that has no wait. What did you think about Sierra Tonante? I've heard that this year was a lot smoother than what it used to be!
Worm
nice TR and still, i haven't ridden nemesis or katun but katun looks soo much better! olol/ or actaully more equal.. i'm confused...
Groteslurf
What did you think about Sierra Tonante? I've heard that this year was a lot smoother than what it used to be! Sierra Tonante was much better than I expected. As it were my first rides on this coaster, i can't compare with before. The ride was pretty smooth only the breaks were terrible. If it is smoother than before, what is the reason for that ? New wheels ?
Groteslurf
nice TR and still, i haven't ridden nemesis or katun but katun looks soo much better! olol/ or actaully more equal.. i'm confused... Katun has a higher drop, is longer, ... but i still like Nemesis more mainly because of the landscape settings Nemesis was put into : the rocks, blood water, the waiting row, the small lift hill but longer first drop, .... Katun certainly is an excellent coaster. I would put if before Black Mamba & the Dragons.
errtyme
That theming in Gardaland is unbelievable; one of the best looking parks I've seen. ..and the kiddie coaster in Movieland MIGHT be the best ride ever built!
