Jcoaster
Well, it seems that Screamscape has posted yet again the rumor of Disney still looking into buying Busch. I really hope it is as off kilter as it sounds and doesn't happen. If it does, likely that Busch Gardens Africa will go away because of Animal Kingdom. Anybody but Disney, anybody... Ya please anybody but Disney. I would hate to see BGA go. That also means SWO will get those stupid Disney mascots.
Real
^I stand corrected, now I'm just hoping for a burning down Mean Streak party! I'll bring marshmallows!!! Ive been trying to get people to help me fund that project for years. All we need is a decent accelerant and something to light it. Preferably a combustible liquid as those tend to work the fastest. KDCOASTERFAN
I have heard a rumor that KD will get an Intamin hyper (or giga) coaster in 2010. Has anyone else heard this? I would like to find more but there is nothing to be found. Even Screamscape has nothing on this. Well that has been the latest rumor circulating around some of the KD sites lately, although we have to get through 09 (and our new goodies from GL ) first before we find out anything definitive about the rumored project. Looking at the photo of track at the plant in Ohio & combining it with what we know now about DB it looks like those yellow supports are for DB's lift & if you think about it the difference in the lighting from left to right in the photo makes it look like bright red track when it could very well be just more of DB's track waiting to be shipped out. itnotfair
RCDB has revealed the location of the next S&S El Loco. Flamingoland will be the proud mommy of a new El Loco model coaster in 2009. It will be larger and have a 125 degree drop. I don't know how reliable this is, as RCDB also claims that Timberline Twister at KBF is 30ft tall. And if TT is 30ft tall, I'm a sandwich. And a very tall one at that.
KDCOASTERFAN
^I stand corrected, now I'm just hoping for a burning down Mean Streak party! I'll bring marshmallows!!! LOL,while they're at it CF should contribute the cash for the budget to include Hurler north,as well as south in that plan......now that's a cap ex plan that represents money well spent. Forget the marhsmallows,I'll bring my trusty chain saw.
itnotfair
Everyone's been talking about the new Radiator Springs Racers ride at DCA being based on the test track ride system, but screamscape.com posted a rumour that got me really excited: we may be seeing an entirely new ride system being created, one based more on the concept of using a tried and true roller coaster track system that Disney will attempt to hide from view. Apparently Disney is said to be working with one of the major coaster design companies on this concept right now. I smell a credit. A launched credit. oriolat
In 2010 the park will be celebrating its 15th anniversary, and there are some rumours pointing to a big new ride. A member from a Spanish forum has posted some projects that are now in the final stage. From these three projects only one will make it to the park. - A Vekoma Motorbike coaster for Mexico. It would be themed to a predator living in the Mayan rainforest. Pretty meh, if you ask me, every GP will constantly be comparing it to FB. Considering how awful the capacity for those IS (just look at Velocity or Booster Bike) I can't see this happening. Plus, I don't think they can fit another coaster in Mexico. - A water dark ride in China. Basically your regular water dark ride with a drop, some fancy 3D effects and animatronics along the ride and a good story. The park really needs a big crowd-eater that catters to families and teens alike and this would be the best option to do it. Personally, I am not a big fan of dark rides so... - A really compact B&M for Polynesia. It would be great to celebrate the 15th anniversay in the same way that we celebrated the park's opening: with a quality coaster. I could see that one happening and being heavily themed to some polynesian bird if it was to be a flying coaster or to any lost tribe if it was to be a DM. No model has been suggested so I really don't know what could it be... I am just especulating. So, what would you like to see there in 2010? What's the best move for the park? Homer
Park News - (10/21/08) I’ve been informed that Dorney Park will likely be giving VooDoo a new name next season due to a copyright conflict with Six Flags who currently holds the rights to that Trademark. A sure fire indication is that the park is apparently selling all of their VooDoo merchandise at 65% off right now in the park. Place your bets, I say ______hawk! Team Thriller
Hey all, According to http://rcdb.com/id4075.htm, Hansa Park which is located in Northern Germany is getting a new coaster. As there aren't really any info yet on it, it does say there will be 2 cars per train. Riders are arranged 4 across in a single row for a total of 8 riders per train. To me, this sounds like Euro Fighters trains. But who cares, the park needs a new coaster, even if it isn't a Euro Fighter. I think this is a good move for the park. Idea's, thoughts, info? Here is a TR from Hansa Park: http://www.themeparkreview.com/europe2005/hansapark/hansapark1.htm --James

itnotfair
I heard a wild rumor that a version of Rock n' Roller Coaster with No Doubt supplying the soundtrack will be built in the new Hollywoodland at DCA. I think this might actually happen because Gwen Stefani is the next logical step after insipid High School Musical 3 dance parties. There has been nothing mentioned so far, and I didn't see anything about it at the Blue Sky Cellar, but I could just see it happening. Anyway, if they build one, I will ride it. With earplugs on. Rct3man777
^Old news, track is already going up, we know the name, the color scheme, and we have the animations for it. If your serious then your wrong. KD is getting 3 flats from Geauga Lake next year. In 2010 it is rumored for a new coaster, so I decided to just say it . . . . .again. Never mind that. Random Rumor Cedar Point will get an aqua trax for 2009 or 2010 Sorry, thought he said KI.

DBJ
File this under crazy idea. I was thinking about how SF is on a kick to plus their older coasters, Medusa, X2, Superman, etc., and this thought occured to me. In the case where the changes/plussing are entirely cosmetic and not impacting performance/reliability (Medusa), does it make sense? Dont' get me wrong, onboard audio and track effects are welcome additions (as well as better queque's), but is there a greater opportunity here? Or - here is where the crazy idea comes in - would it make more sense to actually expand the coaster? For many of SF coasters, the layouts are not themed or in parking lots. This give an opportunity to actually expand the length of the track without removing costly decor. Take the Medusa/Scream layout. Imagine adding a IOA Hulk style launch to the ride! The train would drop out of the original station, down into a launch tube for a show scene. Then, launch at 40 mph, into the 1st 1/2 of the Hulk layout. The concept is that the new section connects to original Medusa/Scream tracks at the apex of the original lift hill. I imagine that the lift hill would either be redesigned as a MCBR or that the train has slowed down enough before dropping down into it's original 1st loop. This could also be applied to the B&M Batman design. What if the lift hills added another 100-150 feet? Then the train could drop down into a new/additional layout before joining the original design. Imo, the B&M's that are not landlocked and even SFGADV's KK (look at all that lovely parking lot KK could expand over!), could be ideal candidates for expansion. This crazy idea/theory to me would accomplish the goal of refreshing the ride (and marketed as "new" to the gp without worry of irritating the more crictical coaster folk), while not being as costly as a start from scratch/concrete slab install.
