Phrases or Things that make you Cringe!

Recommended Posts

Alright, time for a new saying I hate.

Bom chicka wah, wah. [or anything sounding like a 70's bass riff you'd hear on a porno]

That Axe commercial ruined that saying for me due to their annoying use of it. Its only supposed to be used whenever someone makes an innuendo or hits on a girl.

I work with food, and the phrase "I want" pisses me off the most, especially when people are ordering. How freaking rude, especially when they have their kids with them and the kids are little snotty rude jerks too. Get some freaking manners.

...As you can see, I had a bad day at work today.

^ I can totally relate. I was a professional cook for 13 years. "I want..." irks the shit outta me. My response would be something like "I want a Ferrari, but I don't expect to get it on demand."

On an food-service-related note (definitely one of my most annoying restaurant experiences), I was running a breakfast buffet once when a guy came through the line (I happened to be at the buffet, since I was doing edds to order), and he started picking up pancakes with his bare hands. He looked me right in the eye and said "hands were invented long before tongs." My reply? "Yes, they were. But hands were also invented long before toilet paper. Use the tongs." He wasn't a customer very long, and I got a raise for it.

This wins really hard.

LOL, Pete. I wish I could be wise to customers and get a raise...

Anyways, a new thing that I hate would have to be people not reading signs.

1. There is a section of a major road in my town that has recently had its speed limit reduced to 30 MPH (before it was 45 MPH). Yet, I still see people going 45 or 50 in that area, despite a BUNCH of flourescent colored signs and flags saying SPEED LIMIT 30.

2. Every customer at Panera is illiterate- seriously. Every day I hear "Where are the soups?" and they can't be bothered to look up and see large, bold-faced text saying "SOUPS" and when they return pagers to the basket, they don't read the large yellow sign that says "PLEASE RETURN PAGERS HERE."

^ That seems to happen around here quite often, too. How many people have been 24-hour-banned for exactly that, I wonder? Taking it a step further, there are those "in the loop experts" who are "sworn to secrecy." If you're sworn to secrecy, why are you going to effing mention that you have a secret in the first place?

^^^As the saying goes... "Those who think they know everything annoy those of us who do."

As for my personal annoyances...

-Any use of the 'word' Guesstimate

- " " " " " Doable

-When you're playing dodgeball, and you get hit hard, and if you hadn't noticed, EVERYONE playing shouts "[insert name here]! YOU'RE OUT!!!!!" God, it gets on my nerves. I'm not stupid or anything.

I fu*king hate that! "Oh I have a secret." 'What is it?" "I can't tell you!" "Oh yeah?" "Click"

Let's see... *gets out massive pet peeves list* Ah, here we go:

People who write in toggling caps, EG: LoL I PwNeD JoO!!!

People who use l337 speak, EG: U SUCK 4 I AM H@XOR3DIN@TED!!!

If anyone says "Ur mom," It should be legal to punch them in the face.

the word foureyes bugs me.

People who use netspeak while they talk are more annoying...

Well, they have an excuse. My road has no paths either side, so you have to walk in the road. The speed limit is 30mph, but I've clocked someone going 70mph... I've had to jump onto peoples driveways because of this. 'How many cuts and bruises can you get walking down this road' is my favourite game to play.

I'm getting permission from the council to install either sleeping policemen, or something that throws up spikes if a cars going too fast... The latter won't be done, but it gave the council a laugh...
