PKI Jizzman
Shhh....James First update of 2008! Red Racer has be turned around! I'm really happy with the classicy feel and looks! BUT. Does this mean they took each red/blue train off from each side and put them to the right and left; so Red Racer = Right; Blue Racer = Left? Oh well, I like how this is going, it's a different ride kind of. And this is the second year in a row I've seen them do track work. Kudos for fixin' up Racer! -JZ A nice, classic look Now all it needs is paint. Trackwork is always good Who's ready for some....CINNABON?!?! " Hmm...it's like as big as a bean bag chair....do I sit in it or eat it? Well, maybe I can sit in it and eat it! Hmm...feels sticky without pants on..." Xxhershey818xX
I freaking love Cinnabon. I get one.. no wait two like every other week at the mall where I live. Cant wait for KI to open!!!
PKI Jizzman
^How much does one cost? And how much do you think they would price it INSIDE Kings Island? Haha
SFOGdude25
Nice. Going for a classic retro look. I really hope that Racer will be nice and smooth this year. I've had some rides that were downright painful (Most were on the old forward side). It would be really great if the park could paint Racer back to its original colors. It was so pretty back then! Speaking of which. Has any painted woodie been repainted before? I've never heard of any cases.

PKI Jizzman
A certain someone keeps me updated with what's going on at Swan Lake, and it's pretty big. The lake is drained and the area is flattened. I'm told to go to the Eiffel Tower first thing; I bet there will be a lot of clearing back out there. Especially if we *are* getting what's rumored below in the infamous article.
dwerling
This is the best thing that has happened to KI since Skyline Chili opened up. That is if Cedar Fair doesn't completly destroy the Rivertown/Swan Lake area.

PKI Jizzman
^You saw what they did to Frontierland (or whatever it is called) at CP for MF, right? You can't say that ruined Frontierland. It just goes over the path! Plus, it's boxed off. Unless that whole area that IS MF used to be Frontierland...
arw84
MF at CP is relatively hidden from view while walking along the Frontier Trail due to the tall trees that were left behind during construction. For being such a big and imposing ride, it really was hidden fairly well and doesn't really interrupt the 'mood' of that area of the park at all. coaster05
^ and ^^ have no real idea of what you are talking about. That area was absolutely quiet and didn't even feel like you were in the park when you were back there. That is no longer the case. I am sure it could have been worse, but if you went to the point before MF that area is no where as relaxing as it was. For me if you are going to build an area like that in the park, with no rides, then it should stay that way.
Scaparri
Yeah, I wish they would start the ride over near Tomb Raider and just have it fly through the woods instead of starting over by Swan Lake. I just feel like it's going to ruin what's left of the atmosphere if you have a giant coaster towering over the walkways by the Beast. I'm also slightly bummed it's B&M (assuming the rumors are true, that is) simply because I feel that B&M is really losing there touch these days and just producing good-but-not-great rides. However, that's all I'm going to say about that, 'cause I'm not going to be one of those people who complains that the new coaster at their home park isn't as good as they want. No matter what, I'm just pleased to be getting a 'real' major coaster for the first time since 1996.
jamesdillaman
If they put in a good steel coaster, I could care less where they put it! They can have it fly thourgh the festhaus for all I care!!! A good steel coaster at Kings Island is long overdue. -James Dillaman

Eh, but most of B&M's lemons haven't been hypers. Even a Raging Bull level B&M would greatly improve KI's coaster line up, which is about as bad as it gets right now. And something at the level of Nitro or Goliath SFOG would just be that much better. I don't expect CF to install an EGF/SROS level ride, but they can at least give me a reason to buy a season pass again. As it stands now, I'm not going KI again until they give me a good reason to. I don't mind the place so much as it's still better than watching TV, but my wife is about the biggest KI hater ever. I'd rather watch TV than listen to her constant stream of gripes every time we go.

Yeah, of course it's nowhere near to what it used to be without MF, but what they are saying is that Cedar Point did a hell of a job keeping it hidden and un-interupting the flow of Frontiertown as much as they could, for it being such a huge coaster. SharkTums
Yeah I'm also bummed that it's a B&M, but similar to Behemoth at CW, it will be the best ride in the park!

Well, when you're that cramped on space in a booming theme park, you need to make some sacrfices. If you want to take a quiet nature walk, then go somewhere else. People come for rides and coasters. And as James said; I could care less where they put it! We need a good ride.

However, my orginal response was to the statement of them leaving a lake and part of the park alone which they probably won't. I also like how having one part of a huge park quiet and not hectic has somehow turned into me wanting a nature walk. Maybe CF can buy Alton Towers and they can git rid of the castle and the gardens and put in something awesome like a coaster with no air. Heck and since EVERYONE is at parks for coasters and rides they can get rid of all those annoying benches, shows, and landscaping, since none of that matters. Again if you are just a ride type of guy then CP is great for you, I just prefer the whole park experience of someplace like Port Aventura or BGE. Again if you are just a ride type of guy then CP is great for you, I just prefer the whole park experience of someplace like Port Aventura or BGE. Well, when I'm at an AMUSEMENT park like Kings Island, Cedar Point, or Dreamworld; which are really known for rides and coasters; that's what I'm there for. I don't particularly stop for the shows. Now when I experienced a whole different THEME park like Movie World; where they had a few coasters and also focused on some other shows, well themed attractions, and rides; I stopped for them. I'm not going to some "Summer Dance on Ice" but you'd find me at "Police Academy Stunt Show". I do give credit for CF for putting in these shows because obviously there are people out there who go see them! But, that's not me. I haven't been to Alton Towers; but it sure does look beautiful! Now, CP's Frontiertail? I don't think that's a fair comparison. It looks like AT has a massive garden and historical place with all the castles and such. CP has more of a woodsy trail with some glass blowing/old school shops; his it was when it was founded. I think MF is well hidden by the trees in most parts; but some, you just can't hide it. Oh and CP took out a little bit of the Frontier and put in some coaster with some air, it's a pretty darn fun ride in my opinion. Again, I'd say I'm a ride guy. I love going to Cedar Point where there are countless rides. I'd still love to take a trip to a park like Busch Gardens, where it's got very well landscaped and themed areas of the park. I really enjoyed my time at Movie World; the and I'd prefer it over Dreamworld. And, there are people who really aren't into parks like CP; which I understand they go for the atmosphere and quality of the parks. But I'd prefer something like SFMM over Busch Gardens. ginzo
Oh and CP took out a little bit of the Frontier and put in some coaster with some air, it's a pretty darn fun ride in my opinion. Millennium Force is about as good at giving airtime as a quadriplegic midget is at playing in the NBA. Face it: There are kiddie coasters with better airtime (High Speed Thrill Coaster). Again, I'd say I'm a ride guy. I love going to Cedar Point where there are countless rides. But the rides are mostly crap. Funny how a tiny park like Indiana Beach manages to have a better flat ride collection than the so-called mighty Cedar Point. But I'd prefer something like SFMM over Busch Gardens. Tamprica has a better coaster collection than Magic Mountain. Quality > Quantity.

Face it: There are kiddie coasters with better airtime (High Speed Thrill Coaster). I think MF has some good airtime; especially on the first drop. The other hills have some nice floater air. I haven't been on as many coasters as you, but I think it's a great ride with some airtime. Maybe I'll agree with you some day, maybe not. You already saw I'm not a fanboy, but I like this coaster. We've already hade the same discussion about this ginzo. I'd appreciate it if we don't have to bring this up again. But the rides are mostly crap. Funny how a tiny park like Indiana Beach manages to have a better flat ride collection than the so-called mighty Cedar Point. Until I go to IB, it's not changing my opinion. I think the rides are great. A fun stand up, invert; awesome acccellerator, impulse coaster; and Maverick! I don't think those are crap. SoB, Lethal Weapon, and Hurler are crap. Tamprica has a better coaster collection than Magic Mountain. Quality > Quantity. Dude, that's your opinion. I didn't really ask for it. I'd really like it if you stopped trying to push your opnion over mine.
