La Ronde Meet up! (May 27th) (UIROS)

Recommended Posts

UIROS= Unless it rains on saturday (and none on Sunday)

Hey all! This May, I'm going to La Ronde (The Round one, I find this name hillarious)! This will be part of a three day Memorial Day weekend trip to Montreal! I just have a few questions for those who have been or live in Montreal:

Ok, there will be a meet up of several TPR members at La Ronde on the date! Everyone should try to arrive before 10:30 as we will go through the gates at opening. I guess it will go on until closing but expect me to leave anytime after 3:00. Now on to the list:

People who want to meet up with me at La Ronde on Memorial Day weekend

Me (of course) (Stephen)

Leeping La Ronde Boobis (Ben)

Rcoasters (whatever his name is!)

1. Which day would you prefere for me to go, Saturday or Sunday?

I'd prefer you go on monday when the park isn't open.

But you'll probably want to go on Sunday. It's a rule of thumb at any park that Sunday is better then Saturday.

I'd imagine that weekend would probably have pretty light crowds. As it's just a normal early season weekend.

Though La Ronde's operations tend to be reported to be the worst around. So it's probably hard to predict.

Some of the worst that I have seen. I would say that the only coasters worth waiting for are Cobra (its painfully unique) and Goliath (great airtime).

Hey all! This May, I'm going to La Ronde (The Round one, I find this name hilarious)!

- La Ronde in french doesn't mean the round one. La Ronde is when people form a circle, holding hands and sing a song together.

1. Which day would you prefer for me to go, Saturday or Sunday?

Any light rain day. (because people tends to show up when it's sunny and because La Ronde has it's own subway station the park is very crowded when sunny and operations are really bad. Buy a flashpass if it's too crowded, it will be worth it.

2. If all of the roller coasters are open, would it be easy to make it through the park and have time for other rides?

La Ronde is a small park... even if it's crowded, there is plenty of time to ride everything if you go there the whole day.

4. Which way should I make my way around the park, clokcwise or counterclockwise?

Ok, the rides are never open when the parks open. Everybody will be running to Goliath. Don't do it. Go to Vampire (batman clone), wait for it to open (usually 20minutes), ride the Cobra, the tobaggan nordique (worst capacity coaster of the park and bad operations too !). After that go in medieval village and ride Le Dragon. After ride Le Monstre and Supermanege and boomerang. You can ride Goliath in late afternoon, operations are usually good on this one and the line goes fast. Ride everything else then.

Don't forget to try queues de castor (beaver tails), it's really good. Don't try the famous quebec dish Poutine, at la ronde, it's not good at all there.

Rolopan crepes are super good and the asian food at regal de l'asie is tasty.

5. (Completely unneccesary) Does Cobra give you an a$$ rape with those bicycle steats? Ride it first row and it doesn't band that much.

Ok, thanks for telling me that, I looked it up on a translater site and it said the round one.

Ok, I'll be praying for a light rain day! Also, is the subway station for all of St. Helene island or just for La Ronde? And will the flashpass last all day or just for part of the day?

La Ronde is not that small according to google earth and all of the rides they have! Well thanks for the information on telling me that I can ride everything!

Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I'm at La Ronde! And I won't forget the fried dough, I'll try it when I'm there!

Ride it first row and it doesn't band that much.

That question was a question that shouldn't have been answered but I'll ride in the front anyways to avoid a rape.

One last question: Does anyone that lives in Montreal or can make it to La Ronde on memorial day weekend want to meet uo? My La Ronde trip HAS been confermed and I would like to meet up with some members! Please reply if you are interested in coming.

The subway station is on st-helene island (jean drapeau parc). Next to the subway station you take the bus to La Ronde (if you want to take the bus, you have to take a transfer ticket in the subway station that you came in, the transfet ticket from st-helene island station will not be good for the bus to La Ronde, the transfer ticket must always be one from another subway station. Too,there's only two bus stops on the island, don't take the bus that goes to the casino). Or you can walk from the subway station to La Ronde in 10 minutes.

The flashpass (fastlane at La Ronde) was 6 tickets (paper) for 1 ride each (15$).There's a rumor that the flashpass Qbot style will be there this year, but hasn't been confirmed yet.

If you want to try poutine, try it at La belle Province fast food chain, it's quite good there.

1. Which day would you prefere for me to go, Saturday or Sunday?

2. If all of the roller coasters are open, would it be easy to make it through the park and have time for other rides?

3. I know that people in Canada don't celebrate Memorial Day, but would it still be crowded on that praticular weekend?

4. Which way should I make my waqy around the park, clokcwise or counterclockwise?

5. (Completly unneccesary) Does Cobra give you an a$$ rape with those bicycle steats?

Thanks to all who answer the people who can answer the questions! Any advice givin will be helpful to my trip there!

1- Since school wont be out yet, its not that bad to go on a saturday. Sundays are always the safe choice though if you wanna avoid huge crowds.

2- Definately. Most of the rides will be walkons or 2 ride waits. Most are crap too. Like the pirate ship (bateau pirate). There are maybe a couple of non coaster rides worth riding. I'll name them to you when I tell you which way to go around the park.

3- Not more then usual. (which may or may not be crowded depending on the weather)

4- Okay here's what I always do. From the entrance you take a left and head straight onto the first coaster you see. Cobra (green standup) The wait will be 5 minutes tops. You do that and then head straight to the coaster next to it Vampire (BTR clone). Sit in front for the best sensations). Now its time to take a U TURN and head straight onto Monstre (wooden). Make sure you sit in the back for the most airtime. If you wanna redo it in the dark later at night, the front seat is the BEST!!

Now there are two coasters right next to Monstre. Boomerang and Super Manege. They both suck. Especially Super Manege one of the rougest pieces of crap I've ever seen. When you're done you can always ride the flat next to Super Manege called Manitou. Really nice! Then head on to Goliath and MAKE SURE you ride it in the very last row. It is WAY different then any other row on the coaster. Trust me.

Now you can go ride the kiddie coaster to the left of Goliath called Dragon (expect huge crowds for this one if its not past 5).

Other rides you should consider are Orbite (great airtime) and Vertigo.

5- Yes and you will regret it if you mess around with the bycicle thing. Sit wisely or else you're in for one hell of a ride! (and I dont mean that as a good thing)

Best of all ENJOY and write back to me with a review!!

Wow, a La Ronde discussion ! I hope you'll have a great time there and I am certainly glad that you inform yourself and don't do like forum members sfne2005 and CanobieFan (here

As for your questions :

1. Sunday would be better since it will be a bit less crowded, though on some weekends both days are pretty busy ..

2. Every roller coaster should be open, but try doing all the rides you want + Vampire first since the lines can get pretty big, the Goliath operations are usually great so no problem there. The only good operations in the park are at Goliath , as for the other rides, don't expect the best operations ever.

3. Like another member said, since school won't be completely over for most people, it should be a good day. If it rains a bit, it could turn out to be a great day.

4. I would advise you to go to the left when you enter the park and ride Cobra, Tornade, Vampire, Orbite (in no particular order). Then after getting these rides done, simply head to the right of the park and do Boomerang, Manitou, Super Manège, Monstre (again, no particular order). After doing all of this, simply go to the back of the park where you can ride Goliath and Dragon. Also, if you happen to be near McDonalds, you could hit 2 more credits, being Togoboggan Nordique and La Marche du Mille-pattes (kiddie coaster).

5. As said previously, Cobra does give you a deluxe a** rape whichever seat you ride. The front is a little smoother, but not much...

Bring a jockstrap or something...

Sure I'll meet up with you. I'm counting down the days until La Ronde opens and my coaster withdrawal ends. I've cleared my schedule and I'm going on saturday and sunday barring unforseen circumstances.

A nickel's worth of free advice, avoid the Spongebob 3-D simulator at all costs. Yes it's strangely funny to hear spongebob in french but this ride makes BTTF seem like Top thrill dragster.

^^^^ Ok, I'll walk.

^^^ and ^^ Thanks for the information! I'll make sure I ride Manitou and I'll ride the Cobra in the front to get as little of a rape as possible!

^ I'll meet up with you, if you are not a molestor . Also, I've already heard Spongebob in French when I was in France, so I shouldn't be missing out on anything!

Once I get on a better computer (the computer I'm using is crap), my responses will be more detaileda and meaningful. I'll make a list on the first page of the meet up as well to see who will be there! I'll go on Sunday, unless if it rains on saturday and doesn't on Sunday.

One thing though, my english is crap.

Your English seems just fine to be honest. Probably about as good as mine.

A hell of alot better than my French. I've forgotten everything they taught me in school. Not that what they taught us in the first place was really usefull.

LOL its funny how we pretty much said the same thing especially about the order of rides to do in the park. Orbite has way too many people though I forgot to add. Takes 45 minutes at least everytime for me.
