ComplexAudio99
Hey, you probably don't know me, but if you have been on Atari's RCT3 forums, you might. I'm complexaudio99, the creator of Frostbite, but I have taken a break from RCT3 to work on No Limits. This is my newest coaster called Tidal. It is a Euro Fighter 2 and contains 5 inversions. The supports are modeled after Gerslature's early supports on the Euro Fighter (Typhoon). Ride the wave on my latest ride. (Supports and stations still being worked on!) Oh, and thanks for looking. Comments/feedback is really appreciated! Track Layout, and thanks for looking! Remember, comments/suggestions are really appreciated! ComplexAudio99
Thanks for the comments Matthew and Steffen_Dk. I just wanted to post another picture of progress on the station. By the way, all the supports are 100% hand made, and so is the trackwork. Unfortunately I have a Mac and am unable to AHG, so I tried to get the banking as smooth as possible, well anyways here's the pic. Remember, comments/suggestions are always appreciated! Thanks for looking! Station Update, (not finished). Right side entrance, left side, exit.
Steffen_Dk
WOW... It's amazing that everything is handmade.. When can we expect the download?? I hope it's very soon, cause this coaster is really great looking... And then I have some questions!! 1.: How do you make such a perfect looking vertical loop?? I have BIG problems making them 2. How do you make a barrel roll/ zero G???? I hope you can explain, and since the coaster is 100% handmade, I guess, that you are quite good at NL.. Calaway Park
WOW... It's amazing that everything is handmade.. When can we expect the download?? How do you make a barrel roll/ zero G???? I hope you can explain, and since the coaster is 100% handmade, I guess, that you are quite good at NL.. For a PERFECT vertical loop, you have a much better chance at using the HSAK and the Purgatorium for it, if you want a tutorial for making them, just ask me and I'll give it to you through the PM system. For the barrel rolls, just create a straight track and divide it into 8 segments or nine nodes. then, bank them all with relative roll in this order: 0, 15, 35, 55, 75, 75, 55, 35, 15. With relative roll, this should turn into a complete unheartlined 360 degree roll. Make sure you make the first segment red, so that when you heartline it, the banking from what was before it smoothly enters the roll. Then, make the all segments black except the last one, which you should make green. Then, run it through the AHG. You'll get a near perfect heartline roll. You can use the same principle on 0-G's, just make the crest of a hill and divide it as I have stated. It's easier to just make a parabola in elementary and force it to 8 segments though, then they are perfectly spaced and it works better, even though they turn out nearly perfect every time even without elementary. ComplexAudio99
Hey Steffen, thanks for the comments. On the subject of your questions, Calaway Park has left detailed instructions to make a perfect loop and heartline roll. Thanks! Unfortunately none of the programs he mentioned are made for mac, so I do it using the "show heartline" feature, for the heartline roll. When I put it up you will notice that its not really perfect. There is still a slight pump, but I'm trying to work that out right now, using the smooth feature, and just by riding it over and over again. And on another note, the download won't be up until a while. The support work is taking longer than expected. By the way, according to Golfie's guide for calculating the rollercoaster's capacity, my coaster can get in 1,600 persons per hour (depending that its not a Six Flags park , and all five trains are running.) Oh, and thanks for the comments, as always they're always appreciated!
Calaway Park
You need to mention the shift though, to make the loop look like a "Z." The loop you show here isn't very "Clothoid." The loop I'll tell you about here will leave you with a more B&M shaped loop. Step one, make sure you have: AHG, Elementary and the HSAK formula, and the Purgatorium. Start by entering the Elementary program, and opening the HSAK formula by clicking "advanced" and then clicking "formula imput." Find the HSAK formula and double click it. It may appear sort of.. "uh oh." But bare with me. It's easier than it looks. Start by setting the radius to half the height in meters you want your loop to be. Then, next, place the value "360" in the "cangle" area. This will make your loop a sort of helix. Then, go to the "Slope A and Slope B" areas and enter a value of about 5. larger values make corkscrews. After doing this, if you want to make your loop a clothoid, to prevent insane positive G forces, go ahead and enter about 15 in the "zerz" area. This will cause the top of the loop to have a tighter radius than the bottom, keeping forces relatively equal throughout the loop. Open the Purgatorium. Click the "Prefabs" tab, and then click open initial. Open the element you saved in elementary, and then enter the following. In the "Z axis by:" area, put 90 in the SECOND box labeled "d." Then, go to the "Postprocess" box and check the flat box, then make sure it's set to Y-in. After that, then check Cor ZX-By First Handle, also in the "Postprocess" box. Then, hit "Purgatorium!" After that, there's your loop! Usually on handbuilt tracks, you make the lead in on your own, but with this, you can make your own lead in. If you need to know that, just PM me and I'll tell you how. Steffen_Dk
Thanks guys, that was really helpful But where do I get: AHG, Elementary and the HSAK formula, and the Purgatorium??
BorisTF
Nononononono...That loop has pumps, it is so obvious I wouldn't even need to ride it. Also, the shape seems like its been sat on, try looking at the shape of loops in real life.

Calaway Park
help ! my heartline roll is coming out all bumpy is there a way to stop it? Did you follow what I told you to? Use a straight segment and divide it into eight segments, them put relative roll and continuous roll on every single node that is part of the roll. Then, bank the nodes in the following order: 0, 15, 35, 55, 75, 75, 55, 35, 15. Then, black the roll and make the first segment red, and the last segment green. Run it through the AHG and you'll get a near perfect heartline roll- if not perfect entirely. Thought I'd detail it a bit more if people were confused, it's pretty simple though. And by the way, I'll show you what BTF is saying. When you look at loops in real life, they are shaped like this: Source: http://www.rcdb.com/ig760.htm?picture=3 And Source: http://www.latincoasters.com/ Notice how the lower section of the loop has a much higher radius than the top? This prevents high positive G's, because, in a vertical loop as you have shown here, would need a slower speed to prevent vertical forces, but if you have the train going fast enough to make it through, it will pull very high G's. With a Clothoid, [the loop shown above] the train can be going through the loop at a much higher speed, without all the forces. Thought I'd point that out for you. ComplexAudio99
Ok... So I was going through all my old files, and I found this one... I never finished the coaster... so it will remain incomplete (at least the supports). It was supposed to be one of the original EuroFighter designs (which is why it was supposed to be portable). Anyways... I'll probably never finish it, so here's the download! BTW: Everything is handmade, and so is the trackwork. No other program where used except No Limits (mainly because I have a mac). And if you recognize the logo, it was one I made for someone at my logo shop @ Atari Forums, but they never used it, so I changed the name. Théo the little french
This is probably the strangest eurofighter I've ever seen lol. There are many interesting elements! And the ride looks pretty smooth, but there's still something strange in this ride^^ Nice job!
DBru
It was really good! Especially before the MCBR...
ArrowHater
Wow!! I love the logo! The ride itself was really fun and funny at the same time I can design logo's like that!! Anyone that wants one just ask me. Give me a name and theme.
kraken613
Really nice layout! One of the coolest Euro-Fighters!
ComplexAudio99
Théo the little french - Thanks... I wanted to create something unique, that set it apart from some of the other eurofighters. DBru - Yeah, that inversion right before it would be really weird in real life... almost like steel hawg. ArrowHater - Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and you should think about opening a logo shop on the Atari RCT3 forums. kraken613 - I'm glad you liked the layout. I wanted to make it compact, but realistic. Thanks for the comment. Thank you to everyone that has left a comment, and for all you others that don't have NL, I plan on creating an onride video and posting it on youtube... but that probably won't come till Monday. Thanks for the comments, and any suggestions on how to improve the ride would be great. ~CmplxAud
ArrowHater
ArrowHater - Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and you should think about opening a logo shop on the Atari RCT3 forums. Whoa!! thanks!! I didnt know I was that good?!! Well I guess it pays off after soo much practice over the years. I've been doing this since I was 11. Haha BTW: Should I open one on TPR? Edit: Me and you should partner up and open one on here . I can also make GIFS!
CCJared
Anyways... I'll probably never finish it, so here's the download an i finish it?
Xpress
No CC, you can't, you're too good Lol, CC, we should work on it, lol. Or do a project together, using your track building skills, and my supporting skills, and our 3Ds skills. But anyways, I noticed a few things: Good- Track was smooth, no banking jerks. Flowed really well, and elements were pretty true to a eurofighter. Bad- Bankings weren't exact. Got high in a few areas. Loop had pumps in it. Supports!!!!!! WTF??!! LAZY!
CCJared
Ok then Xpress, you have entrigued me. Lets do a track together. PM me and We'll work something out.
ComplexAudio99
ArrowHater - I wish I had the time to team up with you, but unfortunately I'm pretty busy with work... don't let me stop you though from opening one. CCJared - Yeah, be my guest and finish it, in fact anyone can finish it... Xpress - I know, I know. I am pretty lazy, but if you and CC want to finish it than go right ahead, and I can't wait to see your mutant offspring with CC. Thanks for the comments everybody.
