Dailey Enterprizes
^ What he said. I don't understand where people get the idea that the Penguins are soft. Did anybody else watch the Pens/Flyers series? I think the Penguins are definitely ready for the cup this season.
bigstevet07
I totally disagree with the Hurricanes-Blackhawks series would benefit the NHL. It may be something that true fans want to see instead of Wings-Pens again, but there really is nothing marketable about that series to the GP. The NHL wants to get more people to watch other than their die hard fan base. They need the Wings and Pens to make the finals for star power. People who don't generally watch hockey are going to care for teams that don't necessarily have superstars on it. Sure we may know of some great players, but the GP won't. As for the Pens, they are pretty much like the Lakers. Just because they came out a couple of games and played tough, doesn't make them a physical team. They still play a finesse game with Crosby and Malkin.
Guest
Theres no question Chicago/Pittsburgh would be the matchup the NHL is hoping for considering theyre the two biggest markets. Although being a Blackhawks fan I am not really confindent in them beating Detroit in this series.
Guest
If they where going to beat Detorit they had to win one of the game in Detorit. It is going to be the same matchup as last year But not the same winner.

chemical_echo
Right now I'm actually more interested in what's going to happen to the Coyotes than the playoffs. I hope to God that they get moved to Canada; back to Winnipeg, or (even better) to Southern Ontario.

chemical_echo
As long as the team comes back to Canada, I will be happy. Hockey teams will actually flourish here, instead of wait to die like Phoenix. While Winnipeg would be great, there is a bigger fan base in Southern Ontario.
KPfreak519
Well I think its *almost* safe to say we'll be seeing a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Finals. I'll be pleased if its Pens-Red Wings because they're my two favorite teams (I used to live in Detroit, so Im one of the few Pens fans who calls them self a Red Wings fan too). I honestly think that as long as Crosby and Malkin play like they have the past few games that the Pens are unstoppable.

I honestly think that as long as Crosby and Malkin play like they have the past few games that the Pens are unstoppable. Being a Wings fan myself, I have to respectfully disagree. Almost all of the broadcasters, and the Wings themselves have said that they are not playing their best hockey but they continue to win games. When the turn the level of play up to where it should be, we will be unstoppable. I think that the outcome of the finals will be the same (Wings win) but my guess is that it will be in 7 games, not 6.
carolinacaniac
The looked good before in the NJ series, but the Boston series showed that they could not close the deal early, and this series is showing that they are just outmatched by the Pens. If nothing else, at least they made a good run for a team who changed coaches early-mid season. -Gary T,
Dailey Enterprizes
I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that fewer and fewer people post as the Stanley Cup finals get closer. I think the Pens have done a fantastic job handling the playoffs; you can't make this stuff up. The series against the Flyers proved that the Pens can handle anyone physically, then the series against the Capitols proved they were able to handle skill on skill match ups, and the Hurricanes series just showed how the Pens can really play when they're at their best. I think the Pens are more than ready to play against Detroit. Go Pens!
nowaymang
Game 5 tonight. Can the Pens build off the momentum from the past two games? Can the Wings stop the Pittsburgh centers?? Find out tonight 8pm (EDT). GO PENS!!!!

nowaymang
Yes, the Pens lost. Hope is not lost though for Penguin fans. Here's looking forward to Tuesday. (Stinks that I'll be working 2 blocks from Mellon Arena until 10pm)

chemical_echo
I wish the Wings can win it at home this year, it was so upsetting to see them lift the cup to an empty arena.
Dailey Enterprizes
^ I'm sorry, but I doubt there is anything upsetting about lifting the cup in any arena. Go Pens!
chemical_echo
True. I'm sure the Wings love winning the cup, but I'm also sure they would prefer to win it at home so their fans can stick around and watch. Either way, I was stating that it was upsetting to me, not the Wings. Don't get me wrong, I was happy they won, but I would've liked to see the entire arena standing and cheering while they skated around, not filing out of the exits. Movieguy
Oh my god...I didn't think my Pens could do it this year. But they proved me wrong! Beating the Red Wings for the cup on Detroit's ice...Impressive! This is just wonderful vindication, after enduring years of all the Sabres fans up here taunting me with "Penguins suck!" remarks, and the like. Go Pens!
