Photo TR: My Week in Japan **Last of the Photos Added**

Recommended Posts

Was out in Japan last week and hit up a couple parks. Not as many as you would think because I wanted to do some site seeing more than anything. But anyway, on with the photos.

Enjoy!!!

IMGP1729.jpg.9d9f7d4455ea41ac3cc7222862ab7003.jpg

Thanks for reading. I will be posting Disney Sea pics shortly. And why I hate Japan's Tower of Terror ride.

IMGP1725.jpg.69d929a5519fc0f02908cd4f6268ea89.jpg

One cool thing though, you could get milk shakes on the island.

IMGP1724.jpg.a4bac00ef2d27f24776f546badde042e.jpg

Creepy island that smelled like a kitty litter box.

IMGP1722.jpg.62cee06ec94ed37b7616a55d8556b3a3.jpg

Hanging out at Tom Sawyes's Island.

IMGP1719.jpg.5d48ed6e3238e6a608115ba4c1a80332.jpg

Splash Mountain... 45 minute stand by line, 60 minute fast pass line. I don't get it.

IMGP1715.jpg.1a30e3bac0e220095d2829f9d52b92e8.jpg

Credit number 99 for me. Gadget's Go Coaster.

IMGP1712.jpg.3eef6814050a5642d83accd76bd64a47.jpg

The loading area for It's a Small World is HUGE. But it's a lot better than waiting in the hot sun.

IMGP1711.jpg.f76d25c651181ab02775442a5293a474.jpg

Why... I don't know why? I just felt like I had to do it.

IMGP1710.jpg.74c6fa9ec099f31a5a376b31fbf7c671.jpg

Looks like I'll have to come back next year.

IMGP1708.jpg.24458f1b14efdbe60234a582dd4f3bd5.jpg

Also closed for refurb was Space Mountain.

IMGP1705.jpg.643266e57754b89a0c2f677f312c3136.jpg

Time for more popcorn. This time Curry flavor.

IMGP1707.jpg.d42d3f2da14e85325a068106abc8c567.jpg

Closed sign

IMGP1704.jpg.597e7b7200adbaa6739cd39c312a52fa.jpg

Pirates and the whole New Orleans section was closed for refurb.

IMGP1699.jpg.b3d52c4e3cbd73558137accf01a45048.jpg

I didn't understand a whole lot, but she was pretty damn good. I just laughed when everyone else did. It made it more enjoyable.

IMGP1697.jpg.fa463f38bbe166f2a56ab4781423b653.jpg

After that we thought we'd hit up the Jungle Cruise. It's probably my favorite Disney ride. How bad can it be in Japanese.

IMGP1696.jpg.03960e585231bfa1f7ea3842aee63fe7.jpg

After having some popcorn we took the train around the park. Nothing to special. Then we headed up the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House where you can see the main gate and Tokyo in the distance.

IMGP1703.jpg.6efff048331673726ffb442b724c644c.jpg

No Dole Whip, but they did have Chocolate Popcorn which smelled like fresh baked cookies.

IMGP1702.jpg.146dc8a99d18d478fd88ca879331a70d.jpg

We later came across the Tiki Room. Which in Japan it sounds like the Cheaky Room. No sign of Dole Whips here.

IMGP1689.jpg.387087d5e27a327b8bcb24143dcfef56.jpg

After that we got some food. Had some Japanese Chicken Curry which was really good. And only cost about 500 yen.

IMGP1687.jpg.0bc25628fa51c3f06b78d1279850fbb3.jpg

I can't believe how much the girls there wanted to say hi to us while we were there. American in Japan = Movie Star Status.

IMGP1682.jpg.84796731d3968439fa361ad9c23bc3db.jpg

So the line to the right is a 45 minuter line for TMR fast passes. The line to the left is for leather bracelets. And the line for TMR is 30 minutes. I don't get it.

IMGP1684.jpg.5482d0fc6bfc0d16ecb9d99a9ec252d0.jpg

The first ride of the day was Pooh, which was AWESOME!!! After that we hit up Thunder Mountain.

IMGP1718.jpg.53905bc0bbf13d80156bea58ec96ecdc.jpg

Big Pimp'n, Spread the Cheese!

Finally... a castle larger than the one I just saw in California.

IMGP1678.jpg.8a7b313d9d6ad76b99fdf856ac565b91.jpg

I got a two day park ticket. First day at Disneyland and the second at Disney Sea. It cost a 10000 yen, which if you do the math it's cheaper than Disney in the states.

IMGP1677.jpg.d20c5818425e606c6f032b7296f344f9.jpg

Waiting in line to get my ticket. Michael Jackson was in town while I was there. I don't know if he was going to be there or not, but the park was packed for a Wednesday.

IMGP1738.jpg.66dce83643ccfd5c82b633c9580375ae.jpg

Tokyo Disneyland!!!

IMGP1741.jpg.d3447ec86dc60f79fec867f4875aa36b.jpg

Can you guess what park I'm heading to first?

IMGP1676.jpg.dea6378222365d3d6d72f4ff002a6133.jpg

Probably the easiest and most efficient way of getting around in Japan is by rail. Highly recommend it over renting car.

Ahh... Disney Sea. My favorite Disney park. So much detail through out the park makes this place very special and very different than any other Disney Park.

I'm definitely heading to Japan again next March 2008. But the wife will be going with me for sure. I had fun, but would of had more fun if she was there with me. No offense Don.

This was the last photo I got before riding. They were really strict about taking photos before the pre-ride. And the reason I though TOT suck, you go up twice come down twice and that's it. To short of ride for me.

The ride is themed very well. And the pre-show is awesome.

IMGP1759.jpg.c2c3e0467fcafacba12ad74b304c6469.jpg

We ran to the fast pass when the park opened then got in line. But didn't even use the fast pass. Why? I had better things to do.

IMGP1760.jpg.95a80b3823ffb7b17c643e0b69511521.jpg

Just like at Disneyland, the fast pass line was longer than the stand by line.

IMGP1782.jpg.08187233c7cda10523e7ff378a2f71fc.jpg

The first ride of the day was Tower of Terror.

Awesome pictures. I'm still working on my Japan video from November. I loved the pictures. Journey To The Center Of the Earth was my favorite ride ever! I honestly didn't care for Raging Spirits. I also did TOT first. Eejanaika was my 100th coaster and was absolutely insane in my opinion. Didn't care much for Fujiyama. And Dodonpa was closed when I went!

Fuji-Q or Fujikyu Highland

When getting to this park I wasn't really to impressed with it, but after spending sometime there it really grew on me. Oh, and Eejanaika is AWESOME!!! It's so much better than X.

Upsidedown 14 times!!! I was laughing so much while riding I lost count.

First I have to see if I'm tall enough to ride.

Next up was Eenjanaika. This thing is bad ass!!!

IMGP1865.jpg.96e0b713badb71e47599957871368c74.jpg

After Fujiyama we saw that Dodonpa had people riding so we ran over there. Takes forever to get through the line but it was worth it. I never felt so scared in my life.

IMGP1864.jpg.70cc62fdcc97a17658601bd5cf59b67e.jpg

When we got there everything was closed or testing except Fujiyama. This is Dodonpa testing with Mt Fuji in the background.

One of our stops on the way up. Try saying that five times fast.

IMGP1860.jpg.b6114232b1a69dad081afe0c88785aa6.jpg

It was a little chilly heading up there. Hot coffee out of a vending machine warmed my hands right up.

Anything you want or need while in Japan can more than likely be found in a vending machine.

Funny ass train that went up to the Fuji rec area.

You can get almost anywhere in Japan by rail. Even Fuji-Q. It might look confusing, but once you figure everything out you'll love it.

Al told me when I finally go ride Eej that I have bring my sticks and conquer the upper realms of Fuji. Did you see anyone touting skis and a pack frame with those intentions? I can only imagine the looks the ladies would give you then

Love the pics. Fuji vs. Disney...wow, where to start?

I didn't see anyone heading up Fuji. I'm sure there are some people that do it in the winter time, but not many. It's definitely on my list for when I go back. I'll start getting in shape tomorrow... or maybe next week.

So I'm so out of it right now. I just called off of work. So I'll be posting more pictures shortly. Glad you guys enjoy them.

Really not a whole lot to see. But it was only 400 yen.

The coolest vending machine I've ever seen. You send it a text message, it kicks out a drink and debits your bank account.

Freefall was down when I was at LaQUa too! Did you go in "The Mystery Behind the 13 Doors"? My brother and sister backed out, so it was only my mom and I. And I've never been on something so terrifying in my life! They give you a key, and you have to open the doors yourself, so I had to apologize when I gave back the key, because my hands were so sweaty which made the key a bit sticky! Did you have Kirin Lemon? Did you try to Melon Fanta? Did you have Squid on a stick? It's all very good.

Great pics.

I thought it was funny that I saw this today because in my International Business class, the teacher was talking about the differences of all the Disney parks and why. Tokyo Disney is vastly different because Disney does not own that park. It is a licensing agreement with a company in Japan (I forgot the name). So, Tokyo Disney did not have to follow the image of any of the other parks and is held to the standards that the Japanese company creates.

When the Disney Company wanted to build in Japan, they thought that it would not be a great success so they licensed it. When it turned out to be a success, they decided that they would own a part of their next international park that they would open, which is Disneyland Paris.

And DisneylandParis looks a lot like Tokyo Disney... At least when i compare these pictures with my experience in DisneyParis.

@PhishyBrewer: nice pictures by the way! Next year I'm going to Japan... Is april a good month to go? Do you have any suggestions what parks we should do at least? I was also planning to go to the Ghibli Museum...
