Thrillrider15
Yesterday (March 2nd), I got a snow day. Crazy thing about snow days, it's only my second. Here are some pictures of the day before the snow day, and the snow day: This was my dog minutes after being in the snow. And no, my dog does not have rabies. The snow is really coming down hard. This was before the snow day, when I saw a bus skidding all over the road. One of the snow banks in my yard measured approximately 58 inches. This was my house on the snow day. The driveway was plowed before I got outside. This was my house before the snow day. Notice all the snow falling from the sky. I woke up on the snow day, and found this much snow on my deck. Notice a few chairs buried in the snow.
dandaman
^SANTA! Â We get way too many "snow" days here, but our method is screwed. I've only had one day where the school actually closed, but 3 in as many of these past weeks with school open, but BUSES cancelled. It's completely lame, and basically makes the parents risk their lives if the roads are bad, whether freezing rain, fog, and, on one occasion, torrential rains. Â No one ever shows up anyway. Last year one of my friends did, and he and one other person were at the high school.

GeorgiaDawg278
Heh... I haven't been in the precense of snow in a good... 5 years. Â Well, accumulated snow that is. Â It's quite comical to see the lack of knowledge about snow in the south. If there is even a threat of snow FLURRIES people flood the local Wal-marts, frocery stores, etc getting supplies. Â I'm born and raised in Georgia, and even I know #1) It won't snow #2) Flurries suck.

steel
Wow, it was actually worse in Iowa. At the right time on Friday, you could go outside and literally not be able to see your hand in front of your face due to blowing snow. There is more damage now than there was after the floods in the early 90's. Gov. Culver has declared disaster areas in all of the counties here - it's insane.
