SharkTums
It will be crowded, and lines for the coasters will be longer than normal thanks to the ACErs. (Usually the park may be crowded, but most people watch the shows!) Get there early and hope for the best! Elissa "Make sure to ride Blazin Fury!!!" coaster1
Lines should be a bit longer considering Dollywood's refusal to give alot of ERT, only 3 hours of ERT over 3 days for 2 parks, kinda stupid. But then again, this Spring Con won't be as busy due to the inflated price thanks in part to Dollywood.
Jonathan
Actually, ACE only requested an hour of ERT on Thunderhead. Hell, they gave RideWorld 2 hours on Thunderhead last fall, and are doing it again this fall.
SharkTums
Yeah, I really don't see Dollywood as the "no ert for you!" kind of park. Probably just some weird scheduling on ACEes part..I noticed they have some new events director that I've never even heard of! Elissa "Yay Mountain Slidewinder!" nannerdw
It's supposed to rain on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which I'm hoping will make crowds smaller without closing rides.
PKDFreak
Blazing Fury, Tennessee Tornado, and Thunderhead are all awsome! You have to ride Blazing Fury regardless, its unique and just a fun ride.
cgodsey
Dollywood has a strange weather policy. If there is lightning within 10-15 miles of the park, they will shut ALL outdoor rides down. They wait 20 minutes and if they see another lightning strike, everything stays down another 20 minutes. Smoky Mountain weather can be VERY tricky, so good luck! Chris PS: RideWorld's A Night of Thunder II is scheduled for Sept 17th! 2 hours of ERT in pitch black dark rules!!!
coaster1
Yeah we experienced that when we were there. Most parks will close higher profile rides with lightning within 50-60 miles .. Dollywood closes EVERYTHING that is outside, even the train. Kinda odd .. but they do open ASAP once they are clear.
