coastakid
Hey! I was just wondering if Mission: SPACE has been toned down... I know about the two "teams" now, but is the more intense one tamed anyways? Thanks to anyone who posts, and if you are going to, please post ASAP becuase I'm leaving to go to Disney tomorrow -Coastakid (There will be a PTR!) Sir Clinksalot
I don't think so. At least not that I have heard. I never rode Mission Space before they added the less intense training, but the more intense training certainly didn't seem like it could have been any more intense. mcjaco
The more intense ride (Orange) is not tamed down from the original. The Green Team side does not use the centerfuge. It's the only difference, so there's no G's pulled on the Green Team. This has been discussed before.
USRoadTripper
We all wondered if the opposite might have been true. With the addition of the less intense training, the four of us that rode all thought that the more intense training had been bumped up a bit. The Gs seemed sustained for longer than any of us remembered. I never heard that they were making the intense side *more* intense than it had been, but it certainly felt that way to us. -Julie
coastakid
Well as some of you may know, I am now on vacation in Orlando/Tampa. I was actually dissappointed by Mission: SPACE. I guess I was expecting much more out of it with all of the talk about "such an intense, sickening, g-force filled ride"... The Orange Team Training let me down big time. The g-forces felt no more intense than a simple ride on the Rotor. Cool, but not cool enough... -Coastakid
ebl
Tone down Mission: Space? What would Gary think? Seriously, when I rode it back in October, I rode the Green version first, then moved up to the Orange. I've ridden flat rides with more G forces than that. mcjaco
I noticed them more if you turned your head to look at what other people were doing. I almost ralphed.
RNRC
I never knew that there was a more intense version. There was a lot of force when I rode so I must have been on the orange team. What exactly does the green team version do?
BeemerBoy
What exactly does the green team version do? Not kill people. Or you could've read what mcjaco posted earlier in the thread.
SharkTums
Orange Team is the version you rode. It's the original version. Same movie, same spinning, etc. Green Team is the new 'toned down' version. You get in the pods, but they do not spin. It's more like a motion simulator with the same film and everything, just no spinning so none of the heavier forces.

yodathefrog
Rode the Green Team w/ my parents this past December, and it was alot better than what I was expecting. Orange Team I've always enjoyed, however I've never been a big fan of Rotor rides. One too many times of seeing vomit hover in mid-air I guess. Vekoma Fan Boy
Do you experience vertical or accelerational g's? And aabout how many?
yodathefrog
It's so weird, because you are looking at a screen your brain computes everything different than on something like the Rotor. There is definately a force that puts you back in your seat...I believe it's something like 2-3 G's, but don't quote me on that.
mcjaco
^ There can't be G's if it doesn't spin.
maliboomer
Uh, it does spin.
