DenDen
I am SHOCKED nobody has commented on this yet, but look at the unmatched detail from Microsoft's new maps... Amazing close ups! Here's a picture of Kennywood. http://maps.live.com/ I swear, i didn't enlarge this.
Coasterlicious
actually I think that googles detail looks better on some of the cities.. even though they use the same images... i think. they need to update some of those places....

Shavethewhales
^Yeah, the areas they have updated are sweet, but many areas are just soooooooo old. Like the picture of my home town, I can tell it dates back 8 years at least. Oh man, the photo of SDC is from the pre-Wildfire days, wow, the park looks so small. Bubba Z
The map of SFGADV is so retro as well. It's amazing not seeing Nitro, Medusa, S:UF ,KK and of course El Toro. The only thing I would want them to bring back is the season pass parking lot in that picture.
DenDen
I guess each have their strengths, the new live maps had the most up-to-date and close-up picture of Kennywood, so I made my judgment on that.

cygnusx1
I was just checking out Kings Dominion on the Microsoft maps; KD doesn't show up in good resolution on Google Earth. Microsoft's images must be very old; it looks like that picture is from back when the Safari monorail was still in the park! There was no Flight of Fear, Volcano, or expanded Waterworks in their picture. (Hurler was there, so this picture is from either 1994 or 1995.) Although it does give a nice view of what land Kings Dominion has that they can use for future expansions. What would be really cool is if Microsoft and Google could start getting new images every year or every few years and let us compare how areas have changed over time. BDG
Both Google Maps / Earth and Windows Live Local have their advantages...Google works faster I think, has more European stuff...yet Live Local has the bird's eye photos of some locations. Go see Cedar Point for example, or Islands of Adventure...or the Hollywood Universal Studios.
J man
I like looking at things from the birds eye view. It's kinda weird though. My neighborhood so different from that perspective.
