I'll be at the park tomorrow, anyone with requests for photos of specific areas, do let me know here or via PM.

Great news. Can't wait to see USS fully up and running. Glad they're trying their best. I really hope the Transformers ride will be just as awesome when it comes to USH.

Greg recently took a video of the construction progress at Transformers. Seems like they're building foundation for the tracks.

was there anything new there? any new pics?

Back from the park:

"Excavation" work that was happening around Sci-Fi City has been completed.

Something new at park gates:

The future entrance/exit to Transformers ride.

"Excavation" happening around Ancient Egypt..

and more..

and more..

EVEN HERE?? It made the zone quite cramped to walk around.

Still have no idea what these structures are for, but they've added plants.. hmm..

Superstar Candies is closed. Hopefully they will bring it back and carry relevant merchandise (they were selling random sweets and snacks available everywhere in Singapore.)

I've recorded Lights, Camera, Action! today and was pleasantly surprised to see the "falling ceiling" effect working again!

how about revenge of the mummy? is the preshow area fixed? i went that 2 weeks ago and it seems that the crowd has somehow died off. how's the situation now?

All of the pre-show areas are still blocked off today, but the props/lighting were actually turned on. The peeling on the wall hasn't been fixed yet, I've taken a photo today:

(It has been like that since August!)

2-3 weeks ago the park was quite empty. Today there were many tourists at the park and for some reason, travel in "swarms". Often the crew members were overwhelmed suddenly and struggled to open up the switchbacks in the midst of the crowds because the lines were too short for the large number of guests. Towards November, we will see a lot of children and teenagers in the park as their final year exams will be over.

All the pictures I've seen of the park show it empty. Is the park really bringing in guests?

From what I understand of the entire project the park was never designed to bring in huge numbers. It fulfilled the high quality family entertainment zone Sentosa needed to also be allowed to build a money making casino right next to the park.

Very true. That is why every zone has a family-friendly attraction. The star attraction of Resorts World Sentosa is, in reality, the Casino. As a local, I'm curious about the park's long term plan, as there isn't much (or any) space to expand. The park is surrounded by the main road that serves the whole island (although this brought about some interesting details about the park design, like for Jurassic Park Rapids - the vegetation outside blends in nicely with the ride's "set" and the waterfalls form the park's berm)

4rturo, I've only been to the park once when it's "sold out" in June, but it got quite crazy, especially when a lot of rides went down together [Once, the entire stretch from Sci-Fi City to Jurassic park!]. There were reports of wait-time up to more than 2 hours and hour-long for F&B.

I'm a new member and also Annual Pass Holder to USS (Universal Studios Singapore). Well some of the AP gang says that Casino is their umber one priority, thats wrong! Genting Group(currently owner of USS) has very bad Public Relations. We are expecting all the rides to open by 2012. NBC Universal has taken over MACA(Madagascar: A Crate Adventure),BSG(Battlestar Galactica) and Transformers: The Ride. Genting used to plan for cheaper alternatives but Universal rejected and took over these rides. I'll be giving updates, all the RWS Facebook page fans, pls PM me.

Thanks for the info!!

I thought this park was indeed designed to attract big quantities of people and was kinda sad that this wasn't happening, specially for a famous chain like Universal

Good to know this is not true.

After hearing that, is anyone having nasty flashbacks to the MGM grand adventure park in los Vegas? I'm a huge supporter of Universal, and the park does seem like its on a totally different level, I just don't want to see anything happen to it. Look how small it is on this ariel! How will it expand?

I was there ten days ago - on a Friday - and the park was reasonably busy if not ridiculous. Wait times on most rides were fifteen minutes or less, except for Canopy Flyer which was running at 45. It's actually a really nice park; I was surprised how much I liked it (even without a working BSG, boo).

^ Hey Richard, I was at USS the same day as you, although, we arrived at the height of lunch time. It was a crowded day. I missed Canopy Flyer credit due to the long lines. The line for Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure was 80 minutes.

Unsure if this was reported, but I received various discounts, such as $5 off merchandise & food, when I purchased tickets at full price.

Shame we missed each other. My group was lucky with Jurassic Park, as it had been down all morning but opened as we walked past it, so we got on it in minutes.

We got the $5 discounts too - though we arrived at opening, which made me assume this was normal practice?

Yep, they've been offering those $10 ($5 x2) meal and merchandise vouchers since park opening, although it was $15 total value in the first few months.
