PKI Jizzman Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Hey guys, Strickers Grove was quite a surprise. Not only did I find my 56th and 57th credits there, I also found a train with a tunnel that litterally has four inches between you and the wall, and a good park in general. They had classic carnival rides like the whip, tilt a whirl, and other Non Elissa freindly rides! Well, here are the pics, and if you survive the PTR, there is a fun surprise at the end!!! Tornado - Based on a 1935 coaster, and it was awesome! sweet parts where it went from straight piece to drop, reallllyyy quick made ejector airtime! Not rough at all! Teddy Bear - Like a small Tornado, an awesome drop for a kiddie coaster! Fun double down too! Enjoy! ALSO I did see mass squirells there....no pics though, sorry Elissa! Or maybe it will be a Togo aquatrax! The park from afar Ew...togo death cages Woah new ride! Harvester: The Ride Here I am on the Crazy Train! Ayiayiayiayi! That means you use play money to buy real food and games! Wahoo! View from the parking lot! Time for Strickers Grove! You aint pretty no more!!! I tried to be peacefull, but it attacked me! I was on the way to the car and spotted a GIANT spider again! OMFG!
Shavethewhales Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Sweet, I'd love to make a stop there, but I thought it was only open for private parties? Anyway, nice TR.
Ccron10 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Tornado has a cool entrance sign. Is this your home park?
ScottBrown Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Wow I didn't know Tip Top / Volcano flat rides still existed - I love those things
PKI Jizzman Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 More pics!....getting closer to the surprise! Time to go home....cya later Stricker's Grove! Stationnnn I liked this pic, the whole layout The turn arounds Layout from the otherside Hey! I want exclusive walkbacks! Long trains going into tunnels make me make funny faces Ohhh tunnel! Pumpkins....and flowers
apollo210 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Nice PTR of this rarely visited park! Is the park "Ghetto" though and are the coasters any good?
PKI Jizzman Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 My home park is PKI, yea its open 2 days of the year to public and the rest is private. That spinny top ride was cool! it span and went up and down, little airtime! The park was pretty ghetto and the ride ops were all like 17 years old! Tornado - It was smooth, good airtime on the first drop, again on the double speed hills, then you went up the hill rather abruptly...then that doubly bump where you got ejector air! it went from straight to a drop REALLY quick! it was awesome! then again before the brakes to the station Teddy Bear - Smooth, good airtime on the first drop, the rest is just fun....hey its a kiddie coaster The POV's are uploading and on the way! (really slow)
ginzo Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Those pictures came out well. I think the Tornado would be a lot better without the seatbelts. I got almost no airtime in the back seat, because the op tightened my belt a good bit. Stricker's isn't too bad for what it is, a place to rent for company picnics. I believe my work paid something like $10,000 to rent Stricker's for a day. That doesn't seem too bad for what you get.
PKI Jizzman Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 I just loosened the seatbelt! Yea, thats what my dad's company did, for 10 Grand, I think thats a little much.... (POVs will be in the Proff. Amature Video Forum)
Primogen18 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Nice pics, Ive always been curious about this little park. Electric Rainbow will probably be a round-up. I thougth for some reason it has always been there but I guess it will be a "new" ride.
PKI Jizzman Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 Take a look at the "new Togo ride " I saw on the train.....deff Round up things.....alot of dismantled rides with the suport things only left PS- oops about this being a seperate thread
ginzo Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Yea, thats what my dad's company did, for 10 Grand, I think thats a little much.... I don't think so. You can bring hundreds of people, and they include refreshments and what not. They also have to have a fair amount of staff to operate the rides and games. Also, there's not exactly a ton of similar places in the area. Your other option would be to rent PKI, which only Fortune 500 type firms could swing.
PKI Jizzman Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 Yea, accually your right, when you add up admission, food, rides, park operations. The video will be up soon AHA! Found the video problems, they will be up in like 2 min! SWEET!! Well here they are! Comment and criticism please! Teddy Bear.zip Teddy Bear POV! Tornado.zip Tornado POV!
