triggernel
So the online game ended. I know I was in the Top 100, but the site is allowing anymore log-ins, and I haven't received an email or Facebook message about what to do next. Anyone else heard anything? gisco
Cardboard cut outs for the facade? Really?
robbalvey
Star Tours and Buzzlightyear also have similar "facades" and I never hear complaints about those. Not that much of a difference here. If you think an entrance to a ride doesn't matter, that's where you're mistaken. And you honestly think that entrance of Transformers looks similar to Star Tours? Really? You think it looks as sleek and cool as this? Keeping in mind Transformers and Star Tours both had the challenge of working around a pre-existing building, but what's on Transformers looks more like something you'd see at a movie premiere or some cheesy video game art for E3 or Comic Con that is going to be taken down in a few days. I can't believe this is "done" and there isn't more going into it. Please tell me there will be a Bumblebee figure on the top of the sign or something else. --Robb EDIT: Honestly, after seeing what a great job they did on the Simpsons facade, also having to work around a pre-existing building, I was just expecting something a bit more impressive than a highway billboard.... Someotherguyuser
Just renewed my pass last weekend to go to the Transformers preview. I've been waiting since 2008 to go on this thing. I'm going to try to be there early on Saturday to see this as I anticipate the park being near capacity. Just think about it. With Universal's "Buy a day, get a year free" deal going on, everyone going to the park right now and before the end of April is a passholder. Jew
^Not true. The annual pass is only if you pay full price for your ticket. So anyone using a discount is not getting an annual pass.
dylanreich
^I don't believe they're using a discount, the case is simply that anyone buying a normal day of admission is automatically a passholder. I am an annual passholder and didn't pay anything extra, it was included in my one-day ticket that I bought at the gate (unless I'm remembering something wrong). But you are correct in that if you used some sort of discount, then you wouldn't be an annual passholder. However, their promotion makes you an annual passholder. EDIT: To be more clear, ^^ is not wrong, anyone who buys a normal day of admission becomes a passholder.

dylanreich
^I'm guessing they will be, since they are annual passholders. This just creates more incentive for people to buy regular admission tickets (and becomes passholders).
Jew
^^^Just to be clear, you must have payed the full $77 to get that season pass "included" with your ticket. Anyone using any sort of discount (coke can, AAA, part of a group getting the group sales discount, bought tickets from their corporate employee services office, even the child under 48" discount, etc.) is NOT getting a season pass unless they pay the difference and upgrade to an annual pass. So while there is no doubt the promotion is popular, it is not true to say that everyone entering the park is automatically a season pass holder. Season pass is the more accurate term, since the promotion is simply for getting the rest of 2012 free (with some blackout dates). It's actually $90 if you want the pass for a full 12 months. Getting back on the topic of Transformers, it looks like they have started training people other than the test and adjust crew! I saw a group of like 15 people in the uniform waiting outside the attraction this morning. Time to get excited! dylanreich
^I got the pass in the summer while it was "buy a day get a year free," so my ticket is good through sometime in June, 12 months from when I got it. Obviously the current promotion is "buy a day get 2012 free," so everything you've said is correct. I made the incorrect assumption that the same offer still stood. AnonymousReed
They've arrived. Hey Merlin! if you want to see a GREAT PR stunt click on this link and watch the video from the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles. Transformers Are Coming! Decepticon Crashes Into Staples Center LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Universal Studios is advertising its new Transformers ride with a larger-than-life scene at Staples Center. “Transformers: The Ride 3D” is set to open next month, but an 80-foot, 20-ton decepticon transformer apparently came barreling through the walls of Staples Center on its way to Universal Studios Monday morning. Smoke could also be seen coming from piles of rubble outside the sports complex as frightened onlookers chanted, “The end is near!” The park is calling its new attraction, which features 2,000 feet of track and 14 gigantic screens, “the most ambitious ride ever.” “Transformers: the Ride 3D is a completely authentic Transformers experience,” park guide Molly Orr said. “Michael Bay, who directed the Transformer films, was one of the creative consultants on this ride. We also worked with ILM, Industrial Light and Magic. They did our special effects for the ride, and they’re the ones who did the special effects for the movies as well, so it’s pretty incredible.” Edited April 17, 2012 by larrygator
Chroniq
After reading an article this evening at ThemeParkInsider discussing the possible location and layout of Harry's House of Horrors, I decided to waste way too much time and create these graphics. After hours of scientific research, migraines from wearing safety glasses, and consultation with fifth graders on how to do basic math, I came up with an actual, to scale, the earth is flat layout of the existing Potter property and perhaps the position of the of the previously pointed out place. Dirty jokes, digressed. I definitely deem this layout and design decided. Thousands of hours were spent and many lives were lost creating this rudimentary (but scientifically accurate) photoshop Just so I could draw a penis.
