Xcelerator4 Posted June 14, 2020 Share Posted June 14, 2020 I had a Smashburger at LA Live when I was going to a concert. It was okay, your standard overpriced "upscale" fast food burger. Just about even with Habit, maybe with slightly higher pricing. In-n-Out on the other hand, I love that stuff. Maybe its just because I don't have them often and the LAX location Pavlovs me into associating them with travel and theme parks, but its always a good treat with low prices and good burgers. Starts next Friday and runs Fridays - Sundays through early April for now but may be extended. coasterlvr Posted March 24, 2021 Share Posted March 24, 2021 Last Sunday I did the Taste of Universal at Universal Studio Hollywood. For $54 you get admission to the upper lot and 5 food items. They started charging $10 for parking two days before I went. Thanks Obama. We got there at opening and it looked like a ghost town. Was it going to open today? LOL They were already letting people in pretty early before the noon opening. Park hours were 12pm-7pm this sunny Sunday. Walked around a bit to see what was new since I hadn't been in a while. Secret Life of Pets is ready to go, so hopefully it opens when the park decides to fully open to guests. Nintendo World is coming along nicely. The food I ate was very good. Normal Universal park food. I really like the chili dog from Krusty Burger so that's what I ate first. Full size foot long, so for one item, it's a good amount of food. Had some butter beer, shephed's pie from Harry Potter. Added some tacos later, and took home the big donut and huge pretzel. All in all a fun day with friends. Likely that Minions, Simpsons, and Special Effects show will not be open, but most of the other attractions should be with queue modifications (like FJ and other rides like Mummy will only use the outdoor queue, and will pulse guests inside). Pets is the desperately needed family dark ride USH needed, though the capacity is very low. The enhancements to Jurassic really addressed all the dead spots on the ride. I'm not saying that because I'm a purist, I'm saying that because they "upgraded" a ride that in no way needed upgrading aside from new animatronics. Adding screens in lieu of awe-inspiring, wide-open environments and larger-than-life dinosaurs towering above you was a disgrace. It's a movie park so it makes sense, I just can't in my right mind get behind this Jurassic World refurb ever since they eliminated the opening scene and all of the animatronics. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

USH has released video of the soon-to-open "Secret Life/Pets Off The Leash attraction, from queue to the Onride itself. I will not post any video here, as I am still not too sure what is 'legal' etc. That said, the video is quite something and a lot of work has been put into this dark ride. But for myself, this ride vehicle is the ultimate "cardboard box" for me, heh! And without spoiling anything, it totally works with the ride, too! Meow. Photo from the net, Thank You Katie Francis!
