P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

The times that I have gone in the past, it has been hit and miss. On one two day trip, the first day TTD, Maverick, Wicked Twister, WindSeeker, and Raptor were down at one point, but then the next, the only thing that went down that we noticed was TTD in the mid afternoon for around 45 min.

Yeah.... no. As somebody who has greyed out on the majority of my rides on MF, "Millennium Forceless" is one of the dumbest nicknames for a coaster that I have ever heard of. In no way is MF "forceless", at all. Wikipedia claims that it pulls 4.5 Gs, which I would guess is a low estimate. The Batman clones supposedly pull 4.9 and Boomerangs supposedly pull 5.2 (that sounds like BS to me, though), I never grey out on those. I would assume MF actually pulls up to 5 Gs at the very least.

I cant say for Boomerangs, but Invertigo models definitely have some high Gs for them. They're my most common "grey-out" rides. The Batman clones I can also see pulling almost 5. Some would even call them the most intense and forceful inverts.

Odd question: Are rides at the park down often, within the same day? ?

Since the park has 16 coasters it's very likely that 2 or more will be down at the same time. Still, barring weather issues it's very unlikely that any coaster will ever be closed for the entire day. It happens but it's rare.

Gatekeeper, Raptor and Dragster are the first coasters to go down due to wind and they usually all go down at the same time. Sky Ride and Windseeker close in even lighter winds, if you see one closed... check to see if the other is closed and that will tell you it's due to wind (actually... if you see Sky Ride closed just assume it IS because of wind because it really almost never breaks down).

As far as the others, Maverick, Wicked Twister and Dragster break down all the time because they're extremely complex rides. I won't pretend to know the specifics of how they work but it's very common for these rides to suffer downtime each day, but again they're rarely closed for too long. The other coasters all seem pretty reliable but they're all subject to downtime as well just like every other ride so given the sheer number of rides they have and the fact that 3 of them are Intamin Launch coasters breakdowns are just a way of life.

I don't know how it's doing now that it's Rougarou, but I do recall seeing Mantis stopped on the lift hill a TON over the years - definitely more times than I've ever seen any other coaster stopped on the lift hill!

That may have been due to phones too. Since riders were standing as opposed to sitting with a lap bar it was always ridiculously easy for them to reach their phones and try to take pictures or videos and if that happened the ops would always stop the lift.

Believe it or not, a Boomerang can easily pump out at least 5gs, if not more. There was a concern that the coaster would not even be possible because of the loop after the second spike. If you ride a Boomerang in the back, you feel really pushed down while going up the loop backwards.

Coasters are pushed hard in crazy conditions things will break. Run your car at YOLOcoaster for a long time something on it will break.

I'm pretty sure if I crashed my car into it a few times it would break!

Pretty sure this made me laugh more than it should have.

Yeah, very good point.

... But what about the airtime?

MF has strong floater airtime on every single hill (not the over banks, of course). No, it's nothing major, but it's there.

Airtime =/= Force

Airtime is force, it's negative g-force or zero g-force (ejector and floater)

The first big camelback hill has some nice floater air over the top, the second one is the same. It's comparable to B&M Hypers, specifically Diamondback's strongest hill, just not as prolonged. The first & second overbanked turn have a lot of positive G's is should add. So yeah, I don't know why people claim it to be "forceless." It still ranks 14th on the MH polls, and 7th overall in the US. That's quite the coaster, especially considering all the new ones popping up each year. Truly a fantastic coaster.

I know, I was saying that a ride with little airtime can still be very forceful
