DarienLaker
I say Iron Dragon get repainted to orange track and teal support to match Rougarou!
silverstreak2016
I thought standup trains were heavier than floorless. The speed should change some. I Dont care about color scheme or even the restraints so to speak. The ride will will make or break based on if the first trim is there or not. Philrad71
Definitely more excited about the Breakers remodeling and of course...the new bar. I would have much rather seen RMC on Mean Streak before this, but perhaps Cedar Fair was too late to get in line? Â While I agree that the ride will certainly be better than a stand up, I am not sure if the second half transitions will all that much easier on the head and neck than when it was a stand up. Â Maybe a smidge.
Nickstroberg
Oh my lord! I am SO excited! I've been telling my friends this was an inevitability for the past 6+ years, and now, its finally true! I've always thought Mantis had a GREAT layout, but sucked ass due to standing up. Hopefully this will allow Mantis, or Rougarou, to really live up to what it could/should of been back in 1996. Seriously CANNOT wait to try this baby out, as the old B&M standups have some great layouts, nice forces, and snappy transitions. SO FURKIN EXCIRTED! AmatsuNL
This looks great! I can't believe they're actually adding floorless trains to this ride, but here it is. Apparently Mantis was pretty intense but the standup trains caused problems for many, so hopefully this will be more kick-ass now with the floorless trains! MagnumFreak25
I really hope that Iron Dragon gets the new darker paint it has in the video.
GCI Wooden
Maybe I am just over-analyzing this, but Rougarou finishes the layout (drop to brake run) a few seconds faster than Mantis does now. Rougarou exits the corkscrew by the time Mantis makes it to the MCBR. Maybe this means that they aren't trimming it, or I am trusting the concept animation to much. What do you think? El Toro_Ryan
Based off the animations, it looks like they're adding magnetic brakes to the brake run. And hopefully they leave the trim brake off or completely remove it like in the animations because Mantis really hauls without the trim. Plus it's a bit more forceful. Tanks4me05
Let's hope Cedar Point can run 3 trains on Rougarou, as Mantis was intended. Has anybody noticed the lack of trimming on the MCBR? And it looks like they will install some magnetic brakes on the final brake run. By the way, I wonder how much a new set of rolling stock might cost...  IIRC, a new seat for RoS is about $100,000 (mechanisms and all.) Though that's obviously an Intamin sit down and not a B&M floorless, they are held to a similar level of quality, so I would assume it would be in a similar ballpark. So I'm going to guess $3.2 million per train.
Dom497
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be answering those questions with video interviews. Plus, we’ll be talking more about what else we’re adding to Rougarou (I’m looking at you, lighting and fog). For those new to the ride animation party, please keep this in mind – digital renderings are just that. Renderings. While the ride itself is accurately represented, the area around the ride & the station may change their shapes. We hope to show you these bits and pieces along the way.  https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/RougaBlog  Sounds like we haven't seen everything... ajfelice
I like what I'm seeing. While focusing on the Breakers overhaul, a refreshed ride experience should help keep the thrill-seekers happy. The color scheme of Rougarou is also a unique fresh look. Orange is not a bad color when used properly, and the screaming 1990s flat primary colors will now be a distant memory. Hopefully, fingers crossed, three train operation can successfully set up for Rougarou. With the faster loading of floorless coasters compared to stand-ups, this should be more than doable as Mantis could theoretically run three back in the day. Â I would rather have Cedar Point focus on repainting Raptor and Top Thrill Dragster before touching Iron Dragon. Iron Dragon looks acceptable as it is as none of it is faded to the point an untrained eye would find it unappealing. Besides, most of the ride is back in the woods and not in plain view of most passerbys.

In the Rougarou POV, the video skips a good portion of the lift hill. Look closely and you'll see theres a bit of a fade and transition from the bottom of the lift to close to the top...Im guessing thats why theres such a variation in the lengths of each video. No, I did the same thing starting both videos at the drop, and Rougarou finishes a few seconds quicker. Might just be the animation or it is actually faster without trims. PKI Jizzman
Looking forward to still hear it that loud kerchunky trim on the way down the first drop.
Invertalon
Are people really comparing an animation to an actual POV and trying to see what will be faster?
Jcoaster
This is going to be more than "Floorless trains, Repaint, New Name." That really isn't going to sell big to us or the public, and more importantly...Matt Ouimet is in charge.  I'm quoting this for when it is "Floorless trains, Repaint and a New Name."  1. I told you so  2. Cool, good job Cedar Point

OISU8P
I may have missed this in the discussion and apologize if so. Why was the first drop trimmed to begin with on Mantis? Â Also, that Lake Pavilion looks much better then the Tent City that was there.
BigDipper 80
When they still tried to run 3 trains, the trim allowed a little more space in that block to try to cut back on stacking.
scbt
^I would imagine that having floorless trains will allow for quicker loading than the stand up trains which would probably make up for the (hopeful) lack of trim timing.

mark549
I would imagine CF purchased new trains. SF should purchase the Mantis trains from CF and use them for parts for Riddler's and Green Lantern. Â and Georgia Scorcher, which is the best designed standup coaster. Â Looking forward to Mantis 2.0 and hope for Iron Streak RMC reconstruction in 2016.

YOLO
I like how Cedar Point is thinking about quality over quantity since Maverick and GateKeeper. I think that they are fixing up Mean Streak in 2016 or 2017 into an Iron Horse. That would make an awesome Iron Horse coaster.
