BigDipper 80 0
^^I've noticed that it's smoother when the trim isn't being used also. The ride just seems to run better. Does anyone know why the trim was added in the first place? It's been a few summers since I was a host at Mantis, but if I recall correctly it was added to give a bit more "breathing room" in that block to try and help with the inevitable stacking when running three trains. Of course, now it runs just two trains (and is still pretty difficult to avoid stacking on busy days). I think now the trim fires based on speed instead of always on/off, because it usually wouldn't grab on the first trains of the morning. Again, it's been a while since I ran the ride, so things have blurred a bit.
itsasamccormick 0
Can anyone tell me how the unlimited drink special works when you buy the ticket with it? We're ordering those off of the website for tomorrow. (tickets at Meijer are 49.99, but online you can get a ticket for the same price with "unlimited" drinks) Is is like a wristband? And where all can you get drinks from? I appreciate any information you guys have about the program!
coasterbill 621
I love watching the live cams when it rains to see how completely stupid their rain policy is and admire how it changes randomly every day. Mantis is open and Dragster is closed which are the only things that ever stay consistent. Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Skyhawk (WTF?) and Iron Dragon are closed even though they were all running in the rain a few weeks ago. Maverick and MF are open even though when we were there the ride ops literally had their hands out to see if it was raining and after they felt one drop Maverick closed for over an hour. The best part is that Raptor transferred a train off and it's open in the rain which is something that never happens but since they just make stuff up I guess why not? I would love for someone to explain how this policy actually works. I feel like at this point the ride ops at each ride just flip a coin and that determines if the ride is going to close or not. coasterbill 621
Well it doesn't look like it's raining any harder but Raptor is closed now... and Blue Streak is open. lol
Blue Turbo 0
The morning of Coaster Campout it started raining pretty steadily during our ERT on MF and they kept it open. After about 40 minutes of it though they transferred the red train off and were only running the yellow one. It was such a crazy experience in the rain, but it hurt really bad
tarheel1231 0
If the 2015 attraction turns out to be a were-wolf themed dark ride named 'Rougarou', do you think we can expect this to be better than Guardian? I mean, we are talking about Cedar Point.
CoasterGuy2000 0
My only real problem is that WMG was really short. If CP made it longer and instead of a drop track maybe a launch into a short coaster section at the end, It would be Amazing.
Nwstone 0
If a dark ride actually happens, I wonder if CP will count it as a coaster like CW did with WMG
Flefty18 0
Think I'll be needing a Fast Lane Plus if I'm going Wed Aug 27th? Only going for 1 day for my first trip. Flying in day before, Cedar next day, fly back 3rd day.
Flefty18 0
We'll also be doing early entry so want to get the most out of this 1 day up there.
coasterchitchat 0
We'll also be doing early entry so want to get the most out of this 1 day up there. Check the park first and then make your decisions. Do Maverick, Millennium Force, and Dragster during your early entry. If you have extra time, do GateKeeper, but that needs to warm up and it's faster at night.
KI Kidd 0
^Plus it is usually a much shorter wait in the evening, as is Raptor. I see a lot of people talking about doing GateKeeper during early entry but every time I have been at CP the last few years (admittedly always during the week) it has never been more then 20-25 minutes at most in the evening. I think your early entry time is much better spent on MF and Maverick and getting in line for Dragster then on GateKeeper.

JonnyRCT3 0
If a dark ride actually happens, I wonder if CP will count it as a coaster like CW did with WMG Most likely. I mean, they do consider Pipe Scream a coaster, according to their website. Technically, this type of ride is a (powered) coaster. However, the majority of people (GP included) recognize it as a flat.

Flefty18 0
Ok- I'm staying at Breakers Express. Where should I park and which entrance for MF & Maverick early ride? After that I will do Dragster.. Then we'll see from there if I'll need a Fast Lane pass.

Then we'll see from there if I'll need a Fast Lane pass. If you want to hit Maverick first then park in the Soak City lot and enter by Challenge Park/Magnum. Since that gate is by Dragster you could hit that one first then walk back to Maverick.
Flefty18 0
Doesn't look like Dragster is available for early entry.
Coasterdude54 0
When I went dragster wasn't open for early entry. What I did with early entry tickets was park in the soak city lot and enter by magnum, then I went straight to maverick and rode it twice with about a two train wait both times. Then I went to Millennium force and had to wait about ten minutes for it and only rode it once. Early entry time was nearing an end at that point so I walked over and got in line for dragster at around 9:55 and waited until the ride opened at ten.
coasterchitchat 0
Oh.... good job Tony. I think something by Raptor/Point Pavilion, floorless trains on Mantis, and Mean Streak is being torn down. Just read this post. https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Thanks-For-The-Fun?mobile=

Just read this post.https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Thanks-For-The-Fun?mobile=0 I wouldn't get my hopes up for Mean Streak being torn down. He knows of the rumors and speculation. It's made PRETTY obvious all over the internet, so he knows what we're looking at and what we think is happening. Therefore of course he's gonna throw a few things in there to try and throw us off. The park isn't gonna just give everything away like that. It's Cedar Point for gods sake! That being said, He also probably knows exactly what's happening in 2015 so he probably gave some obvious hints that we'll feel stupid for overlooking once they're revealed. Like when they did the Gatekeeper reveal in 2012, I remember a few days prior they posted an animated rendering of raptor with "Isnt Raptor AWESOME?" and something about the big announcement on the 13th of August. yadda yadda yadda that animated picture ended up being the view inside of the keyholes on the Gatekeeper Front Entrance rendering. The mentioned facebook post. If you look, you can now tell that the new entrance is right on the bottom of the picture and the keyholes on either side. The zoomed out picture, released the day of the announcement So though I know its not the same exact idea behind Tony posting all those pictures, I'm just saying, they know how to give *just* enough away as to not confirm/reject anything, but they also are crafty at how they do this, making it fun for Coaster Enthusiasts and even the General Public to speculate.
