P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Yes, no way to avoid getting soaked from viewing the animation. I think this is a great addition to the park.

Yeah after the first drop looks like after a turnaround you go right under a waterfall...... so if the drop didn't soak you, that will. I may not ride this one quite yet on opening day brrrrrrr

All The Details

Boat Statistics

Number of Boats 10 fiberglass boats

Riders Per Boat 10

Safety Restraint Individual over-the-head lap bars with hand grips

Seating Individual seats; five rows of two per boat

You have to watch the animation first.

They use real lapbars on this waterride, not over-the-shoulder restraints.

looks lame.

I can't believe they're spending $10.5 on a water ride.

Before everyone jumps on me for knocking the ride before I ride it, I just don't like water rides. Period.

Nothing against Cedar Point, just not my thing.

I can't believe anyone actually enjoys walking around a park all day with wet shoes and socks and that nasty itchy butt feeling you get from your undergarments chaffing you all day.

Both of the Intimidator coasters look awesome but I don't understand why they saved this announcement for last. They should have announced them in reverse order.

Just your opinion. I like water rides on a hot day but you have to come prepared for them. Bring a change of clothes, put them in a locker.

On a side note you can't tell from the pictures or animation but I hop they add some theming like more animatronic figures and things of that nature along the ride. If this thing is themed pretty well, that will really make this ride.

^^ Its called a publicity stunt. I posted this on another board and I'll post it here too.

- Enthusiasts blow the speculation of this new ride out of proportion.

- Wild rumors are tossed around while CP creates more publicity and anticipation by dropping hints.

- Enthusiasts pull their hair out trying to figure the clues out.

- CP creates even more publicity by dropping more wild rumors.

- ???

- EXTREME PROFIT

Note that this isn't the end of viral marketing. Hersheypark and CP managed to pull this stunt off successfully. As more parks realize its potential, more parks will be doing something like this in the future for all sorts of rides. In fact, CW is doing this for their 2011 attraction right now.

Cant say that I necessarily disagree with you on that. I usually skip the water rides and will definitely not ride this on any early morning ERT like at Coastermania. I guess the lesson is.... go commando?? lol

I still don't get where Whyte Lightning plays into this? Now when you go to www.whytelightning.com it will take you to CP's new ride page after a second or so.

Also, I like the fact that there's TEN boats! This doesn't look like a long ride, so the capacity might be very good, and the line will probably constantly be moving.

I can't do that anymore.

I went commando to KD a few weeks ago and managed to bust the back end out of my shorts.

There were totally ripped from belt loops all the way down to the in seam.

Worst part? I was getting off Rebel Yell when it happened and had to walk all the way to the front of the park securing the back so I wouldn't give everyone a full moon.

Never again.

Read the ride page. It has to do with the theme of the ride:

You'll board your boat inside the Crystal Rock Bottling Company and travel through rivers, around an illegal moonshine still and encounter some wild feudin' and fightin'. We still have no clue what they're fightin' over (it could be Whyte Lightnin'), but yer sure to be a part of it!

So why was there a box outside of Carowinds that had Whyte Lightning on it?

AWESOME!

I remember being so bummed when they removed the Mill Race. Then the recent loss of White Water Landing Happened.

I am SUPER excited to have another Shoot the Rapids ride back at CP!

I am not very excited that it looks as if you will get completely soaked though, but I'll deal with it.

I really hope that the bottom of the second drop ends up looking kinda like Poseidon at Europa or Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls at USO. It looks like it has the potential to if they use all of those rocks the right way.

Cross Marketing? Didn't CP have a NASCAR driver there recently?

Yeah, but Cedar Point has "important" visitors all the time.

This really reminds me of the huge buildup for what became Wicked Twister. It was a really great addition but people kinda wanted something more. Then along came Top Thrill Dragster the next year. I think 2011 will be the new and amazing coaster some wanted this year.

Overall its a nice addition but like someone else said, I don't like getting wet and having to walk around all day with my junk sticking to my leg. It just gets so uncomfortable. I does look like fun though! i think it will be a big hit especially on those hot humid days.
