Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

We're executing a search warrant tomorrow morning... I hope it's all wrapped up for the media day footage!

I'm also looking forward to Rob's on ride reactions.

Did they happen to mention how heavy that train is?

OK these are freaking cool. https://cedarpointonlineshop.com/

Made it out to Cedar Point this past weekend, October 17th-18th with my mom and dad to visit my sister working at the park. My sister works at Dorney, but since they closed early, a bunch of full time

The first thing I thought when I saw Robb is at Cedar Point for the Media Day was "Oh man, I can't wait to "hear" his on-ride reactions." We've seen the video of Tony and the ride looks amazing, but nobody narrates a ride like Robb.

Ok, I'm excited to SEE Robb's reactions as well...

I can hear it now "Airtime!!I", "And more airtime!!!","Now we're upside down!!!", and don't forget all the "WEEEEES!!!" I LOVE HIS COMMENTARY THOUGH!!

Anyway that ad gave me shivers and I cannot wait to ride! Even though opening day looks like it won't be too pretty, it won't be my first rainy and cold day at the park if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Two rides on it so far and already my thighs are sore from all the ejector airtime! As you would expect, super smooth and you are out of your seat more than you are in it. Absolutely love the second outside bank turn and the second half is a blast. Solid ride start to finish!

Just a friendly reminder that it's in the low 40's, wet and generally crappy outside. The fact that this ride is receiving this kind of praise NOW means we're in for a real treat.

Also, even given the colder temps... I believe there are "wheel warmers" under the station. You can feel the heat radiating from the space between the cars. Side note, MCBR does not even touch the train. Hauls right thru! I can't imagine the ride going even faster than it already does... After another two rides, I will have to say that element duo above the lift is my favorite part. The roll, turn and zero-g stall combo is incredible!

Excellent! That's a great move by the park given their climate. It's still going to blow some minds on hot summer nights though.

Winterfest confirmed??!

Really looking forward to May 2 for the passholder preview night. Looking at the "Way to early to matter in Ohio cause it'll change 1,000,000 times anyways forecast" (and yes, I live in Cleveland so I know I'm stupid for looking) I may have lost the weather lottery for the day I picked. But oh well. I'll gladly take a chilly rainy ride!

This may be the first season I invest some cash into a FL+ for a visit.

Well, it's everything we expected. Long, packed with airtime and elements (that second inversion). Much as logic tells me to hold off a CP trip this year...this ride really makes rethink that!

I noticed that in the POV! God, I hope they keep it running that way when it officially opens up.

I... I might have to leave the kid at home and make an emergency trip out here.

Steel Vengence looks incredible!!! Can't wait for Robb's review!

My dad's been toying with the idea of taking his RV out here sometime soon. Might push him to make it happen this year.

So I gotta ask, what's the locker rule for this ride. I'm guessing no in-station cubbies so you need to rent one before getting in line?

This, if you dont know, is Marcus Leshock. He's a local Chicago Reporter and a known coaster enthusiast. They send him down to all the media days in parks in the region and he’s been as far as Silver Dollar City, Kings Dominion, Dollywood, Cedar Point for Valravn, BGT etc. and always does a short for media day, even though he’s only a local reporter. I’m not even from Chicago and I follow him because I quite enjoy the coaster stuff he does and shares (and because he keeps everything pretty non-political, which is a nice relief. Nearly everything he puts out is positive.)

Anyway, I can’t believe his reactions to Steel Vengenence. He’s always geeky and makes the newcasters laugh but I’ve never seen facial expressions quite like this from him before. Just look at his EYES!!! They look so messed up! And look at the way how EVERYONE gets THROWN around in the last series of bunny hops into the brake run. That just looks brutal!

So I gotta ask, what's the fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo rule for this ride. I'm guessing no in-station cubbies so you need to rent one before getting in line?

Small items like keys, phones and wallets can go in a secured Velcro, buttoned or zippered pocket. Waist packs and basically everything larger must go in a locker.

I got my trip planned for Memorial Day Weekend. Staying at Hotel Breakers so I can be as close to Steel Vengeance as possible. I can't wait to ride it! Loving all the media day coverage on twitter...It's got me all excited!
