Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Oh I'm sorry should I post about boats? Cause THAT'S funny. Besides, who said I was even trying to be funny? Since when did Robb make you a moderator? This is two threads in 5 minutes of you coming at me. If you have a problem don't hold back bud. You'll feel a lot better when you let the hate out of your heart.
For the love of God, don't set him off. Last time he threw a fit he had the entire thread come to a screeching halt over my innocent joke about Chinese food.

I might be in the minority here, but I rather like not knowing what Mean Streak's layout and stats are yet. It's cool to watch them add more and more track with every new element a surprise. It definitely has potential to be the best ride in the park! And Frontier Town is the place to be in 2018.

I feel the same way! It's not every coasters construction that you legitimately don't know what's coming next -- Seeing leaked construction photos once a week excites me WAY more than a normal teaser cycle would! And the pictures bring much better discussion than what's normally going on here...

Sad, but true.

I think most of us would be okay with a continuation of the current photos we've been getting. Sadly, with them moving towards other elements, I don't expect to keep getting photos of the progress every week.

I think you're right, but one can hope! But once the season starts (and we still don't have an announcement/layout) we will surely get those weekly updates in great detail!

Wow guys it is definitely the off season.

That joke is still really funny... The only thing worse than offseason discussion is people complaining about offseason discussion.

(And then people (like me, right now) complaining about those complainers)

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Add to that... people complaining about people complaining when they aren't even complaining to start with. So the complainer is doing what they accused someone else of... who isn't doing said annoyance. It's a forum, discussions and varying opinions are good!

Also... control issues There, I said it. Be nice to each other. Really, you aren't the smartest person in the world either.

Now, to make up for my complaining (!?), here is Skyride picture (not my picture; found it in my collection).

Glad to see edgy, alt-right memes make an appearance at TPR. I'd also accept "cuck" or "libtard" - Keep up the good work

Your post got a little meta there and I lost track, but I really like that picture. Do you remember what year that's from? Those uniforms are strange!

I'm going to try and get this thread back on track, I know it will fail, but here I go anyway.

I really believe this may be the best RMC if they can keep up the fantastic work they have done so far. Airtime is not something I look for in a coaster, but that hill looks very fun and I'm sure it will please the airtime lovers without a doubt. Do you guys think it could become the best coaster at Cedar Point, or at least one of the top 3?

If it's a really outstanding coaster, then yes. If it's a decent coaster, then no. Let's wait and see not only the full layout, but how it rides before we make these claims (I know that's far too much to expect on online forums).

And for all the people saying "that hill is too tall to have any ejector" for anything built before riding it, just wait and see. Airtime and forces are all about curvature and rate of angular acceleration, with minute details that are impossible to know how anything will ride until it's actually open.

Yes, I do that sometimes. I try to restrict my posting to when I have something clear and concise to say, but we all get a little off track sometimes. Here's to hoping someone got something good out of what I said.

I'm not sure, but It looks like early 80s. Oh yea, and Frontier Lift

So far no RMC has topped Maverick, Fury, Skyrush, or El Toro in my book. Could change, but it's pretty bold to declare NMS to be the best in the world with only one visible element thus far

I'd gladly take Outlaw Run over Maverick and/or El Toro any day.

Saying that New Mean Streak has the possibility of becoming the best roller coaster in the world isn't a huge stretch. RMC builds mind blowing coasters. Cedar Point builds amazing, record breaking coasters. But the hehe would companies together and your bound to have an amazing coaster.

Also, I'm not the first person that has mentioned that NMS might become the best new ride in the world.

I would also rate Outlaw Run above Maverick, but I think I rate the latter a little lower than most.

I'll say the potential exists for this coaster to be great. But best at Cedar Point is a tough goal, let alone best in the world.

Those who have been on RMCs, do they tend to maintain their insanity throughout their lifetime, or have parks taken measures to tone them down a bit since being built? For example, slowing down the lift on Skyrush and El Toro, or adding trims/reprofiling I305. I purposely went out of my way to ride Skyrush very early on, knowing it would probably be 'tamed' at some point. Don't get me wrong, those rides still kick freaking ass, but their early days of operation are on another tier compared to now, in my opinion. Either way, I'll still be making the trip to ride new Mean Streak very early on.

Outlaw Run is much better now than it was the first year, when they had some kinks to work out and reliability was poor. Well, they've figured it out, and it's very reliable now. As of last December, Outlaw Run was still kicking ass and taking names, although I'd be glad to verify that's still true when it reopens in a couple of weeks.

RMCs don't really have the fast lifts that have any potential to be toned down. I've only ridden Goliath (at this point) and the lift was fairly slow actually. I don't believe any RMCs have any trims that aren't part of a brake run, and it seems like Texas Giant rolls through the mid-course pretty quick as it began.

RMC coasters are insane, but they are not at the level that makes you black out or hold on to the lapbar so it doesn't hurt your thigh. Intamin is at its own level.

Ive only ridden Outlaw Run and it has a pretty fast lift compared to most coasters I have been on. No matter how good this new coaster is, I still don't think I'd be able to put it above Outlaw Run. That double barrel roll is hard to beat.

This could be the best in the park. Just looking at the coaster as we know it; pre drop bunnies, over 200 foot tall lift hill, Colossus like bunny hop, 150(?) foot airtime hill. It could end now and probably still be a top 3 ride in the park.

Thank you. I come here to get away from politics. This is one place where those opinions don't matter at all.

Am I the only person that really dislikes Skyrush? Those restraints are so incredibly uncomfortable. Worse than the GCI Staple-flyer lapbars.
