Check out this amazing photo compliments of Dave Morgan!!

I feel bad because this is all I post about lately but no... if a park has the ability to open and there's demand and they choose to stay closed then they're dumb. Period. Be creative and figure it ou

Cedar Point should pay people a premium to work there. Unless you love the industry and have aspirations of moving up within it, why else would you work at Cedar Point? - For most jobs, there are

This offseason is going to be unbearable. Hardly anything interesting to follow, and the hottest conversation on TPR is currently revolving around cargo shorts

This.

I wonder how hard it would be for CP to do like a fall beer festival the first 2 or 3 weekends in November. Have a few rides open and have a ton of beer. It would certainly bring people in the park, especially if the weather is like it was the first two weekends of the month.

Well, according to screamscape they've completed a small double-down type element and the initial lift track.

Oh come on. . . You know how it works, pics or it didn't happen!

There is no picture because as the author of the site says, "I cannot share it"

Why not, dammit

Because of privacy issues with CP. They want to keep this hush-hush.

The little double down Screamscape is talking about is the prelift section we have all known about for some time now.

Mean Streak Renovation / Soak City Expansion - (11/19/16) While I cannot share it, an interesting image was sent in to Screamscape this week showing off the installation of the IBOX track system being installed on the turnaround from the station to the bottom of the lift hill on Mean Streak. While the first rail sections are just being added to the lift, it is the straightaway leading to it that caught my eye, as a pair of fun little humps have been placed just before you hit the bottom of the lift, creating an itty-bitty little double-down style maneuver.

^ This reads like what they did to Twisted Colossus. I didn't remember seeing any photos,

or within any POV of it. Totally surprised me. And happily so. This should add fun

to the ride, even before you're over the lift hill. If that's what's being done.

There were photos posted several pages ago on this thread. A construction update video was also linked, but the user removed it per Cedar Point's request.

Cargo shorts are fantastic for amusement parks but suck for everything else IMO. I can't picture myself wearing without them at amusement parks, and on the other hand I can't picture myself wearing them out side of amusement parks.

But anyways, skyrides.

See, now hats on the other hand- I have NO idea how the hell people keep those on while riding coasters. Last time I wore my hat on a ride, it flew off on a ride as calm as Calypso. Then I see people wearing hats on Magnum, Millennium, Diamondback KI, etc. Confuses the ever-living hell out of me.

Hey, did you guys realize they are building an RMC at Cedar Point? Maybe y'all should talk about that instead of boring things like skyrides and zipper pants.

That was the conversation a couple of weeks ago. Everyone got tired of "2017 vs 2018" and "Pre-lift Elements" and "Angle of lift" discussions. So, until we get more news, we will talk about more important matters, like skyrides and zipper pants.

Oh how I miss the sky rides at my home park SF Great America. They scared the crap outta me when I was a little guy. But we still have our 2 original flumes! And they say "Great America" on all the logs/boats, no big SF logo... which makes them extra cool.

I've become such a big fan of skyrides and flumes in the last few years. The "classic experience" is becoming rare these days. During my 3 days at PPP this year, I rode the sky ride at least 10 times. I also like cargo pants with zippers, but I'm CRAZY about old school Chance Zippers! Sorry to see the new model they are testing has shoulder bars and bucket seats, ew!

It was really cool to hear Cedar Point/Fair is looking for "classic rides" around the world. They are starting the recognize the value of this stuff. I'm waiting for the day they can restore a classic Blue Streak experience. If little Kennywood can do it, a huge place like Cedar Point has the resources to do it. (And add something about Six Flags running Revolution with NO shoulder bars again, after everyone in the industry insisted that would never EVER happen again.) Strange things thankfully happen!

Going to start a "bring back the Frontier Lift" petition

(kidding)

You do realize the park hasn't announced it yet, so we just get to keep pretending like it doesn't it exist, right?

Fixed?

I'm going to assume polls are against the forum rules? Wondering what percentage think it will open Spring 2017, Summer or Fall 2017, or 2018. I don't have a strong opinion either way myself. But I am enjoying Cedar Point trying to hide what's going on!
