coolcalicoaster
Going to CP on Tuesday. Can everyone spread a false lie that the park is closed? I want those 20 minute waits on Raptor, Maverick, MF, and TTD!
slither37
Actually, park may be rather crowded as there are specials running for platinum pass holders, bring a friend for 24.99 and that friend gets early entry, etc.... I think these specials run most of next week. According to the emails i got.
Jerrykoala2112
If I got on Saturday from 6 till closing and all of Sunday, will I get to ride all the coasters and some flats? Maxair, Demon Drop, the S&S tower and skyhawk and the 2 water rides with 17 coasters? I am going those days and I badly want to ride them.
Homeboy23
You should be able to manage that, especially if you are there all day Sunday. Do you have a Platinum Pass or staying at one of their hotels? Getting that extra hour Sunday morning would help.
CPmaverick
Cedar Point has started to put up Halloweekends signs including one for a new haunted house. CorkscrewFoley
Wasn't there a rumour going about 6 years ago, or started back then I should say that cedar Point was going to break the inversion record on a sit down? Is there any truth to it, or is this another rumour that won't come to fruitition?
MattMattMatt
CP breaking the inversion record has been around since the early 90's when every coaster they built was a record breaker and people still cared about that sort of thing. The park has so many coasters it only makes sense that rumors about what they don't have (a flyer, something with 27 inversions, the beachside GCI woodie and "boardwalk" area) have been around for ages. Yeah that's the Bon Air wing of Breakers for you. Very old and outdated. The newer parts of the hotel are much nicer, but very overpriced. The funny thing is that during Holloweekends, they decorate the hotel (or at least the lobby) with all kinds of Holloween stuff, like cobwebs, spiders, etc.

Also some of the rooms have interiors left over from like the 70's. The view is still a coaster geek's orgasm though.
redlaser21
Ok my ride on millennium force for the first time was insane. I rode at night time and couldn't see what was coming at me until i was already going over it. The first drop was delivering on the negative g's bigtime. After that it was smooth sailing over the first over banked turn and trough the tunnel. On the first airtime hill the lift force was just right not to harsh but not to soft and it made me feel like i was floating. After the next two over banked turns were over and the second airtime hill we pretty much just flew over that last little bunny hop and got a nice little positive g on the last over banked turn right into the brakes. It was a heck of a ride and my favorite ever.
Homer
Cedar Point had a Fake Bomb Threat- Rollercoaster 2 Electric Buggaloo coming July 2010 Yep, I honestly don't know why somebody would strap a fake bomb on to their car.
Homeboy23
^ I would like to know if it actually looked like a bomb or someone just got scared because they saw something and secondly how obvious was it to the public? Who looks under cars for no apparent reason?
Tbcoasterfan
The Sandusky Register said that it was a device that looked like a bomb. The Lorain County bomb squad responded to it and the destroyed it with a high powered water jet. The person that planted it was from Pennsylvania and his date in court is coming up like next week I think.
dandaman
So I've had a season pass every year since 2005, minus this year due to my leaving in two weeks for university in Florida. (Hell of a commute.) It just occurred to me; I haven't even been yet this year! Usually I don't even let June go by without paying a visit to CP, but I guess end-of-high-school rushing and SFGAm amazement earlier this month just pushed it back. Oh well. I'm going with a few of my friends, including one who a) has never been south of Toledo, and b) has not once in his forsaken life ridden a roller coaster. I keep telling him not to think he HAS to ride stuff just for saying he did so, but he's so damned excited he doesn't care.

ebl
I'll assume the cable wasn't running... I'd like to have seen him walk the one on the old Eagle's Flight at SFMM. That sucker was high! Eric

dandaman
...He laid down on the wire? Now that's pretty insane, "more area covering the wire = possible better balance" nonwithstanding. I wonder if they confiscated any loose articles of his beforehand...

cal1br3tto
^I, for one, am almost glad I didn't, though! (Even though it would've been exciting!) Think of the tension and worry...even though I know he knows exactly what he's doing and has safety back-up. But even just the threat of failure, let alone harm, would bother me.
