coasterbill
It’s probably a very expensive ride to run and it’s an Intamin so it’s also probably a very expensive ride to maintain and it opens at 11 and isn’t that popular. The writing has been on the wall for years. This is kind of a bummer since it’s a straight-budget cut (it’s a tiny footprint, it’s not like it’s in the way of anything that they couldn’t have put literally anywhere else) but I do hope that they fill that space in with something cool. I don’t even care if it’s a ride, a restaurant and bar with views of the beach would be awesome.
ytterbiumanalyst
I'd be down with that. One of the things I love about Cedar Point is that whenever I need a trash can or a bathroom, there's always one right in front of me. The park just isn't quite at that level with their bars yet.
Condor
I know this ride has a small handful of passionate fans, but it was always CP's forgotten coaster to me. There were days I'd genuinely not even remember it was there until I actually saw it. Hopefully it goes to another CF park that can really use it. Not what most of us are pining away for, but one niche CP hasn't filled is a large, modern, family coaster. They could easily fit something pretty cool from Gerstlauer, Premier, or Vekoma in that footprint. Me? I still want that retro, beachfront out & back woodie that we'll never get. thrillseeker4552
^I completely agree about the family coaster. I would love to see them add a Vekoma family suspended, or a Gerstlauer launch/family coaster (like Firechaser) in that area. They could incorporate it with the nearby kid rides and it could even run out over the beach and interact with the pathways. Would be a perfect addition. southpuddle
One thing is for sure, the four trees that are within 500 feet of Wicked Twister are toast.
Bamwa
CP could use a B&M Flyer but that wouldn't be a good place to put it terrain wise. Also I hope they dont waste the money on a freespin.

After all, if you read that thread recently, they are totally deserving of a new major attraction despite record-setting crowd levels this year. If you're speaking in regards to replacing Steel Venom, doubtful. The holding break just started working on it again so I don't imagine it going anywhere. Samuel
OK, time for the beachfront RMC Raptor and GCI twister and Boardwalk Project with an underwater tunnel . I think Wicked Twister's back spike & launch are fun, but the pullouts give me a headache. I'm sure the park notices the low ridership, and with Volcano being removed at KD, I'm not surprised. I'll miss the beachy vibe, fun sunburst colors, and the sand blowing around the queue. The coaster visually framed the Ferris wheel so well that I can't think of a standalone ride that'd be a better fit in that space. I remember an interview with a park exec who talked about wanting to open up views to the beach from inside the park. I think that trees, rides, buildings, etc. actually add character in addition to the beach. I really like that corner of the park, so fingers crossed for good future plans beyond an empty plaza where you can watch fireworks.
Garet
Everyone seems to be assuming losing Wicked Twister means another roller-coaster to replace it. I agree with this statement. The park has been lacking a Larson Loop for a while.

southpuddle
I’ll get a good kick out of it when it’s the (severely needed) expansion to Planet Snoopy complete with actual family attractions that do more than just turn in slow circles and everyone still complains
xVicesAndVirtues
Instead of a new coaster in this area, what I'd really like to see Cedar Point do is move some of the other rides in that spot around, if possible, open up that waterfront area and build some kind of multi-use space with a more modern hotel, a restaurant/bar or two, some retail space, maybe have the hotel/building have some kind of pass-through below so the beach area is visible from inside the park, with some comfortable outdoor seating etc. I think something like this would enhance the resort feel of the park and give park and resort guests more after-hours options than TGI Fridays. Something like this should also bring in tons of cash to build that new coaster everybody wants to speculate about.
thepoint4life23
I don't see Wicked Twister being moved. would something like Jersey Devil fit in that Spot?
prozach626
Finally the coaster enthusiasts are right about Wicked Twister. They've called it year after year since 2003. 3

anonymouscactus
Tried to ride it yesterday, but, once again, the coaster I can't fit in as I am just a tad too tubby.... too bad, I do like impulse coasters.
AmyUD06
So, reading back through the last 15 pages or so of this thread, I realized that I never posted up the absolute F-ton of pictures I took of "The Boat," as I like to call Snake River Expeditions, from my trip to CP back in May. The first two dozen or so are from the queue, and the rest are from the ride itself. Enjoy!
bert425
^ I'll be honest and say the ride would bore me to tears, and it's highly unlikely I'd ever bother to wait for it (which is odd, because I seem to be right there in the demographic they are aiming for with this. . . a cross between Jungle Cruise & Great Movie Ride (using only Disney for references). that said, despite what clearly looks like a limited budget? they did quite a nice job on the theming in the queue and on the boats themselves. So I have to wonder if that's what CP will be getting in that space. I think a clone of HangTime from Knotts would also fit in the space. And the theme of a boardwalk coaster all ties in nicely. On the flip side, you gain an amazing multi loop sit down coaster. So why keep the Corkscrew? Historical, but I am sure it is also costly to maintain. just some random thoughts from a random guy.........
Garet
I'd love a drop tower like Falcon's Fury. Surely the 2 gondola version like Ikaros could fit on that area. It's the perfect ride for Cedar Point. They'll have a new ride to market and draw in the crowds but with that location they can just constantly stick a 'closed for wind/weather' sign on it any days the park isn't packed and never have to worry about staffing the thing.
bert425
^I'd think they'd convert Windseeker before they build an additional Drop Tower right next to it.
coasterbill
Just a friendly reminder that Power Tower still exists... I know Falcon's Fury blows it to hell but I don't see why they would build a new, far less reliable drop tower.
anonymouscactus
I posted my super quick review/description of Dine in the dark on a Facebook group, but thought I'd post it here: If you are a passholder, this is 100% worth it. $20 for passholders is an absolute steal. Even if HALF the food doesn't appeal to you, there was a huge selection (if you can find it all in the dark! lol) took me a few laps to find it all. As you enter and get your ticket scanned, they hand you a souvenir cup that had one of those lights built into the bottom to make it glow/flash/etc. You get free soft drinks to fill it with, or you can use paper cups that are also provided. There are 5 stations with a huge variety of food. There are little cards that are hard to read with each food item. More than I remember reading on the website. Some of my favorites: Garlic Beef, Corn fritter bake, shrimp , mozzarella tomato salad. Other things I had which were OK included perch tacos with slaw, sweet potato mash, sausage, Boneless Pork Chop, bacon wrapped chicken, fudge balls (too rich for me), tres leches cake, plantain pudding. Nothing was outright bad some things were a little bland or dry. But if there is something you don't like, take some more of what you do! I didn't try the red beans and rice, the garbanzo salad, papaya, jerk chicken, or saffron rice. Full list of foods is here: https://www.cedarpoint.com/events/cedar-point-nights They also had a mini bar but there was a line so I don't know what was offered. The only thing I overheard was some sort of lemonade that your can add Tito's vodka to. Highly recommend. Give it a try. The "dark" aspect was a little cheesy and the music was weird (it is NOT a party atmosphere), but it's really about the food in the end. I was surprised you serve yourself minus the carving station. The entrance is right by Windseeker for those that don't know where to go
