Ride On_17 Posted August 7, 2017 Share Posted August 7, 2017 The new Halloweekends Haunt website is live! https://www.cedarpoint.com/halloweekends/haunt/ Eternity Infirmary, Eden Musee, and Fear-y Tales are going away while Deprivation: No Way Out, Fearyground Freakshow, and Harvest Fear will all be new. Another exciting addition is the return of Midnight Syndicate, which I'm thrilled about. Something that has me scratching my head is that Harvest Fear is said to go in Frontier Town...but with Cut Throat Cove and Tombstone Terror-tory, I don't know where another scare zone could be placed. Plus CornStalkers and Screamworks already take up Frontier Trail soooo I have no clue where this new one's supposed to go. I know they never did the scarezones but it was the best time to go for the haunts with little to no lines... -- hopefully the haunt schedule just needs to be updated, or because everything isn't open they aren't considering it a haunt day but the mazes will still be open? You can get the Express hotel for $55 out the door. I'm looking at dates 8/13-8/14. You don't know the name of the hotel untill you book it but you can usually find out what hotel it is. For example, it shows you the TripAdvisor rating. It said 4.5 stars. There's no other hotel in Sandusky besides Breakers that has 4.5 on TripAdvisor. They call the Express hotel "2-star Hotel in Sandusky area" but it shows that it has a 4 star rating on Tripadvisor. For some reason the Haunt link isn't working for me, so I can't tell which are supposed to be scare zones vs. mazes, but if Eden Museé is going away, maybe Harvest Fear is going in the building where that was? As long as it's still accessible with Mean Streak construction, which may be completed by Haunt, who knows. That's because Trip Advisor bases their rating on user reviews, whereas Hotwire bases theirs on how many amenities are available (not necessarily how many are included in the room rate). I did a mini trip report(mostly focused on the live entertainment). Is this cedarpoints version of the Mardi gras parade? This is actually a real thing? The boys were amazed at dragsters launch New stage in frontier town this year. They have a bluegrass music show. Looking good This show was really good. The sun began to set.... The main midway has looked a lot better at night since they put in all the lighting a few years back. Finally got the chance to see luminosity this year. Is it me, or did they add more lighting in the frontier trail this year? The smoke from the train, and next years new coaster. Even though it's closed, they still light up mean streak. Goodnight... I booked a couple of days for later this month and seriously saved about $300 over the on-site resorts (even though I enjoy them, too). I used AAA to save a bit more, as well. I'd still stay with family/significant other at the resorts, but this trip is for more casual friends, fun, & to scratch my coaster itch. If ride lines end up being out the wazoo, I'll use the hotel savings on Fast Lane+ rather than worry about early entry & hustling around with a strategy before it gets busy. Thanks again! Digger, Black Jack, and Wild One! I hope they each have unique themes on the trains - That would be so rad! I also love that this is keeping up with Maverick right next door! That back corner (from Millennium Force to this thing) of the park may have the best coasters per square foot than any other place in the world!
