Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

p. 2030 - Top Thrill 2 announced!

I bet the queue has microphones around the queue that control the holding brake. The louder the people in line scream, the quicker the train gets released from the holding brake.

This is actually a really neat idea! Bravo, sir.

“We’re working on something very special for the queue line that’s never been done at Cedar Point before,” park spokesperson Tony Clark tells WKYC exclusively. “It will make your wait for Valravn a little more entertaining.”

Well, track work is all said and done. . . Which brings us a new blog post, a new video, and some new photos.

We've reached another major milestone in the Valravn project – the last piece of track was installed.

As is the case with all B&M rides, track piece #84 slid right into place with no issue. The latest Valravn Minute update gives you an up-close look at what our crew from Adena sees (and does) as they bolt these pieces together.

Even though the ride is a complete circuit and it looks “done,” we’re far from finished. So here’s what’s next on our schedule.

Two of the three trains are on site; the third should be arriving very soon. The focus is now on the station with pouring concrete on the deck, assembling the roof and installing the operator booth and control panels.

Electrical connections are being made everywhere on site, preparing for the connection to the park’s main power. Another significant piece of the puzzle is Valravn’s control computer, which sits in a large cabinet underneath the station. That will be installed this week as well.

Finally, site work is underway and will continue until opening. This includes installing pavers, landscaping, fencing, moving dirt around, pouring the queue line, installing the sun shades and so much more.

When will we see trains run for the first time? We’re still keeping that a secret!

Source, and Source.

That last picture looks awesome! Can't wait to see testing begin!

I bet it's a pack of ravens that will feast on obnoxious guests, or otherwise keep the queue line clean.

Don't forget the toaster-oven theming in the station!

After a full day at Cedar Point in the summer it does feel like you have been in a toaster. I usually end my night there so its fitting. Got to love wind burn to match a sunburn on fair skin.

I watched it. Wasn't really anything special. He answered small questions about Valravn and the park. There were alot of people asking really stupid question. There were some questions about... The.... boat

The ride warriors club will be going on sale soon. The morning tour tickets will be going on sale soon. Testing will begin once temperatures begin to rise.

He did say "Thanks to fury 325" in regards to Raptors lighting.

Wow. Its like after construction is done, this thread is nothing....

Now there is no one complaining, about people complaining, about people who complained, about people posting to many construction updates. Those were the good ole' days.

Maybe the boat will return with this nice weather coming

BOAT?!?!
