pianojohn
Was going through some old pictures and found some Maverick circa 2006 as it was under construction! Enjoy!

FeelTheFORCE
Hard to believe it's been almost 9 years since construction first started on Maverick in 2005 when WWL was removed!
Angle O. Descent
I wish the heartline roll after the tunnel launch had never been removed before opening
Mossed
That was one of the most exciting constructions to follow, because you had no idea what kind of coaster was coming to Cedar Point. Maverick seemed so out of character.

coasternut
Was going through some old pictures and found some Maverick circa 2006 as it was under construction! Enjoy! This is when it ran the best! No QDC - "quick direction changes" to beat you up. Especially your neck with your arms up riding. I still can't believe they haven't replaced the restraints with the soft ones like I305. That would make it more comfortable for me. Come on Cedar Point!!!
coasterbill
Honestly I've never had an issue with Maverick's restraints at all. I'm not sure why so many people complain about them.
Diamondbacker27
Because they give you neck damage

coasterfreak101
Honestly I've never had an issue with Maverick's restraints at all. I'm not sure why so many people complain about them. The only thing I have an issue with is that the same people still have to bring up the same 'problem' (that not even a majority of people have) eight years later. Barge84
Honestly I've never had an issue with Maverick's restraints at all. I'm not sure why so many people complain about them. Same here. Rode it for the first time last year, had a little bit of an issue. After that, no issues during our ERT. Do people get on a ride and sit there like a rag doll? alilstronger
Honestly I've never had an issue with Maverick's restraints at all. I'm not sure why so many people complain about them. Same here. I think its a very comfortable coaster car.
DJeXeL
I love Maverick's restraints. When I first rode in Summer of '07 I got popped in the jaw on the 2nd turn but my lesson was learned after that.
yankeeman311
I personally love Maverick's restraints because of how loose they are but my friend had issues with the ride because of the neck pains others have complained about. I think that's more because of how sudden and tight Maverick's turns are. My best advice is to brace your head by leaning it the same direction as the turn. Once I did that I couldn't feel a thing but even my first ride my neck barely bothered me.
Superbatboy
I can't wait to ride Maverick this year, how long are the lines usually? I'm planning to go in mid-May on a weekday
rcoaster10
Maverick is usually the longest in the park. In May, though, it shouldn't be too bad. Last year I went mid week May and there were lots of school groups there. The line was an hour most of the time. But it's definitely better than the summer days. coasterkyle
My best advice is just move with the ride.... aka lean into the turns, keep your head against the head rest, and instead of putting your hands up hold onto the grab bar.
DJeXeL
I learned that lesson the hard way but this is great advice for anyone riding for the 1st time.
coasternut
^^ That's no fun that way. I like to ride with my arms up, and let the ride have it's way with me. That can't happen with Maverick, I'm sad to say.
tarheel1231
Pipe Scream is done.
coasterbill
Maybe it's because the area is still a construction site but Pipe Scream looks a lot larger than I thought it would for some reason. It really dominates that side of the midway.
simaticable
I'm going to the park the week of June 9th. Should I have seriously long line issues, or should I be fine if I just want to hit the credits only? What would be the best day to go, and what would be the best course of action to ensure maximum coaster riding? I believe the plan is to go from opening to closing with small possibility of staying at Breakers.
