Philrad71
I would love to do the off season tour in February, but we will be in Virginia for my partner's brother's 50th b-day party that weekend.
Vonni
That's so cool! I wish more Parks would do stuff like this.
FreeFaller
Okay I'm loving this. I'm assuming Club TPR is considered a "recognized roller coaster club" for the Millennium Force walkback right? If you click on the events, you can select the roller coaster club and ClubTPR is listed, so yes, it is considered a ''recognized roller coaster club'', how could it not be? singemfrc
That Coaster Campout is a fantastic idea, would love to do that.
thrillrider
For the camping event, I wonder what "grassy area" they are going to use as the campground area? The only areas I can think of is under Millennium force, or maybe the area between gemini and the monster. Of course there is also all that room inside of the antique cars/turnpike cars area as well. DirkFunk
Has anyone heard of this guy or seen his stuff? He has some really interesting and random Cedar Point stuff for sale:http://www.ebay.com/sch/cedarpointer1990/m.html?item=200684212468&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb9b610f4&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 The selling of stuff like those miniature models leads me to believe he's probably associated with the guy who works at the wood shop. He has a number of items like that for sale inside there and much larger stuff that he's willing to do. Someone commissioned him a couple years back to build a full replica of the Schwabinchen figure, and he used that in turn to create a mold for future resin casts. cal1br3tto
The campout sounds pretty darn fun, at least as a novelty. Assuming there are no age restrictions, it could make for a fun memory for kids. Not sure it's the kind of event I'll ever make it to myself, though. Philrad71
^^ I remember that...that guy is awesome! My family thought I was nuts because I remembered that head being on the Schwabinchen!
Koasterking48
Monster will sport a new color scheme in 2014. Courtesy of the OnPoint blog
Bmggt83
I know this isn't a new thrill ride that they are adding this summer but this looks awesome! I love the colors! Glad to see they are re theming the area and brightening it up.
cal1br3tto
^^Now it will look a little less "monstrous."

Geauga Dog
Interesting color scheme. When I first saw it Dorney's Monster came to mind. Photo taken in 2005
CPSFMMCW
Thats nice that they're giving that a new color scheme. It will certaintly brighten things up back there along with the new attractions beside it.

thrillrider
Looks like the mystery restaurant that is being built across from the monster ride is Chickie's and Petes. I have never heard of this restaurant before, but I guess they are known for crab fries. Anybody ever eaten at this place before? Here is a video that was just released about the upcomming summer at cedarpoint. http://fox8.com/2014/01/30/cedar-point-makeover-new-rides-food-general-manager/#ooid=NoaHFnazpowJ6mNTYkQh3B0KKzuVpv8S

Ccron10
Chickie's and Pete's? Sounds like it might be one of the best places to eat in the park that is a franchise. At least I will feel at home since Hershey is adding one as well!
thrillrider
I wonder if they are going to carry the full menu, or a limited menu? I found the full regular menu online here.... http://chickiesandpetes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Chickies-and-Petes-Full-Menu.pdf Seems like an odd choice of a restaurant for cedarpoint to go with. I guess that I was just thinking that it would have been a national chain restaurant or an in house eatery.
thrillrider
Also just heard that the plans for 2014 include a expansion for lighthouse point as well.

I guess that I was just thinking that it would have been a national chain restaurant or an in house eatery. Chickie's & Pete's is AWESOME! It began in Philadelphia (where I live) and has a few stand-alone restaurants in the area, as well as stands at Lincoln Financial, Wells Fargo, and Citizen Bank Park. I get it every time I'm at an Eagles or 76er's game. Dorney Park has two locations. One of which is a walk-up window (I've eaten there several times) and a new sit-down restaurant. The walk-up window has a very limited menu, offering only crab fries and chicken strips (about $8 each). I'm sure the full-service location offers the entire menu, or at least close-to. If you're in the park and want some great fries and chicken, Chickie's and Pete's is the place to go.
SuperShawn
This thread i the first I've ever heard of Chickie's & Pete's. Seems like something I need to check out since good food and booze is always a win in my book. Edited January 31, 2014 by SuperShawn
thrillrider
I'm not a seafood fan, but booze and chicken wings are a favorite of mine.
Koasterking48
[youtu_be] [/youtu_be]This video is from the news and is a rundown of all of 2014's improvements. It almost makes it sound like it will be the restaurant will be full service from how they are describing it.
