thrillrider
I got a few more pictures from closing weekend. Parts have arrived!!! Enjoy.... We got parts!!! All types of things. Supports? Not sure what these are for..... This is the under construction part of the parking lot. These markings were all over the construction site, and under blue streak as well. This was the biggest hole in the parking lot. While in the park, we saw this guys van. Lookie what I found on the beach!!! Is that track I see? Yep None of these parts were there last week. A last (blurry) look at the front gate lit up for the last time before it's revamp.

azza29
Thanks for the update! Of all the new hotness coming in 2013, Gatekeeper is the one I'm most excited for. Unless they finish Flying Turns, of course...

DougMJr
This isn't my favorite project for next year... but I'll still be watching construction updates daily. Kinda a CP fanboy I guess. Should be a fun ride.
thrillrider
If this is anything like X flight in Chicago, it's going to be great. I am just surprised that there is not more buzz surrounding this ride.
UrbanLegend
If this is anything like X flight in Chicago, it's going to be great. I am just surprised that there is not more buzz surrounding this ride. Because it won't make you black out from the forces, therefore it is not worth considering. Alternately, B&M's tend to draw in the crowds quite a bit, and that's not okay.

But all the times I was at the park this fall there was always a crowd gathered around the banner.

Alternately, B&M's tend to draw in the crowds quite a bit, and that's not okay. I personally feel that this may be (judging from stats/renders) one of the more forceful B&M's that we've seen in a while. I'm not stating in any way-shape-or-form that this will be anything like BTR. However, the Immelman, Dive Loop, and the Camel-back look like they'll pull a good amount of G's. Edit: They sure aren't wasting any time on that front gate. Looks like Mr. Dino might get the boot.... sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/615596_463372337034464_1555238323_o.jpg sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/622751_463370923701272_674844865_o.jpg

JonnyRCT3
A great find and I thought I'd share. Few notes -Those people wound't NOT have the same thoughts about the ride now -That line was ENORMOUS! -The ride is just as exciting as the developers interview -Cp came to Dinn asking for the highest "wood" coaster. -Designing started during Oct/Nov. -Construction started during August. -Max +G's are 2.7 - 2.
DougMJr
One thing Mean Streak has going for it is that it is IMO very beautiful looking. It would be more beautiful with bright red RMC Iron Horse track on it. Hopefully Cedar Point reconsiders and lets RMC get their hands on it! I want them to realize the way they're currently re-tracking it is only making the ride boring, so I really want them to consider RMC. Please, Cedar Point! rollin_n_coastin
This year was the first year that I've had Mean Streak ride with no trim on the lift hill and pretty much throughout and it was actually really good speed wise. That combined with a ride weaving through and around its majestic structure almost makes up for a lack of anything substantial in its elements. It didn't seem that rough, but them we rode near the front

That combined with a ride weaving through and around its majestic structure almost makes up for a lack of anything substantial in its elements. It didn't seem that rough, but them we rode near the front Mean Streak actually runs sometimes without its trims? I knew that Mantis and Magnum sometimes ran like that, but never Mean Streak. The only chance I've had was when it was raining hard and Mean Streak was open. The train just slid through the drop trims, what a great ride...even in the back seat! Hilltopper39
Siting that close to the beach should adds some cool perspective to the ride. I still wish they would have found a way to design this thing with the lift hill facing the park instead of the parking lot. The view from the top of the lift will be of a massive parking lot instead of one of the most iconic park skylines in the world. Still should be an awesome addition though. Seeing how your going to be flipped over and heading in the opposite direction at 67 mph (+the worlds tallest inversion). I don't think a two-second view of the parking lot will be relevant. Great to see those precious track pieces of the ground. Beemer track deserves much better than that
